Richard and Snow White both looked at Evan Yang, unsure what he meant.
Evan Yang transmitted to both of them, "Trust me. Just listen carefully to what I say, and don't argue back. But you can curse me—curse me as fiercely as you want. As long as they see you hate me, that's enough. But absolutely don't do anything foolish, or even I won't be able to save you."
They fell silent, but kept thinking about what Evan had just said. Then Evan turned to Blue Sky and said, "Senior demon, look at these two. This can't go on. But I have a solution."
"Oh? What solution?" Blue Sky was also annoyed by their behavior.
As soon as Blue Sky spoke, Snow White and Richard glared at Evan Yang with reddened eyes. Richard was the first to shout, "Evan Yang, what do you mean? You're actually colluding with others!"
"Senior Richard, you two really are noisy. Senior demon, here's my suggestion: why not lock them together somewhere? If they try to escape, give Miss Snow White a poison pill with no antidote—let's see how they escape then." Evan Yang said.
Evan's words stunned everyone. Richard knew Evan wasn't afraid of poison, so there had to be a connection. He cursed loudly, "I must have been blind to ever trust you."
Snow White also cursed fiercely. While she was cursing, Blue Sky suddenly flashed in front of her, tossed in a pill, and laughed, "Kid, I like your methods. Why didn't I think of such a good idea?"
"You—" Snow White was shocked.
Richard cursed even louder, his face flushed. Lora Luo was about to curse too, but at Evan Yang's signal, she understood the gist and made sure to act convincingly. She changed her tone and said, "Brother Evan, I think they're just too noisy."
Evan Yang nodded, then smiled at Blue Sky and said, "Senior demon, just follow my suggestion—lock them up for now. We'll deal with the rest later."
"Makes sense," Blue Sky replied with a laugh. He then lifted the barrier and ordered his demons to take them away.
All the way, the only thing heard was their furious curses—clearly, they were blaming Evan for betraying them.
Seeing this, Evan felt deeply unwilling. He didn’t want to watch them kill themselves, so the only thing he could do was have them locked up alone and look for a chance to rescue them.
So Evan smiled and said, "Senior demon, see how peaceful it is now? But I suggest letting them stay locked up for a few days. When you get the chance, you can control Richard too, turn him into a proper puppet, and when Snow White has no one left to rely on, she’ll naturally have to return to your side."
"Never thought you humans could be even more ruthless than me. I like it," Blue Sky laughed loudly.
Evan just smiled, then asked, "So, Senior demon, what do you need me to do?"
"Of course there is. You said you broke that ice, right?" Blue Sky replied, still smiling.
"Yes, Senior. What instructions do you have for me?" Evan asked curiously.
"There's something I need your help with," Blue Sky said, his smile deepening.
"What exactly do you need help with, Senior?" Evan asked again, curious.
Just as Evan opened his mouth, Blue Sky tossed him a pill similar to the one he gave Snow White earlier. Evan was startled. "Senior, what are you doing?"
"I need you to do something for me, so of course you'll go alone. But I worry you might run off halfway, so this is just to remove my doubts, right?" Blue Sky said with a smile.
Evan was stunned for a moment, but he'd already anticipated this. He showed a helpless look and said, "Senior, you're right."
"Good. Now, listen carefully to what I'm about to say," Blue Sky said.
"Alright, please go ahead," Evan replied.
"To the west of here, if you fly for three days at your speed, you'll reach a snowfield. Deep in that snowfield, I need you to find something called the Skyfrost Snow Lotus," Blue Sky said.
"What does that do?" Evan asked, curious.
"It's for refining a Life-Saving Pill," Blue Sky replied.
"A Life-Saving Pill?" Evan looked puzzled.
"You don't need to know the details. Just do as I say. If you succeed, you'll be handsomely rewarded," Blue Sky told Evan.
Evan nodded. "Alright, no problem—leave it to me."
"I hope you succeed," Blue Sky said with a smile.
Evan smiled, then asked curiously, "Senior, you have so many powerful subordinates—why choose me?"
"Because you broke that ice, which proves you have the ability to break tough ice. That skill is very useful in the snowfield," Blue Sky answered.
Evan laughed. "I see. I'll get to it right away."
"Go ahead," Blue Sky said with a smile.
"But before I go, I'd like to see those two. After all, I'm the one who got them locked up. If I don't apologize, I'll feel guilty. Senior, let me see them first," Evan sighed.
"Didn't you just come up with the plan? What, feeling guilty now?" Blue Sky looked at Evan, thinking he was a petty man, but he liked it and laughed.
"A little, yes. But don't worry, Senior—I just want to see them," Evan replied.
"Alright, I'll have my subordinate take you in. After you see them, you can set out with peace of mind," Blue Sky said. "Thank you, Senior," Evan replied. So Blue Sky had a demon escort Evan and Lora Luo out.
Watching Evan leave, Blue Sky sneered, "Once you finish my task, I'll deal with you too."
Evan had already guessed his intentions. Blue Sky was only being agreeable now to make sure Evan did the job.
But this actually helped Evan's plan succeed. Outside a cave, several demons stood guard. The demon escorting Evan gave them instructions, then let Evan and Lora Luo inside while the guards stayed outside.
It was a bit dim inside. After walking a few hundred meters, they saw the scene: Snow White was holding Richard, both looking deeply sorrowful.
When Richard and Snow White saw Evan and Lora Luo, they began cursing him loudly. Evan whispered, "Enough, no one's here."
"You—" Richard was overjoyed when he heard this.
"Alright, there's not much time. Soon, I'll take you both into my tower-type spatial treasure and sneak you out. But before we leave, you'd better curse me loudly," Evan said.
Richard and Snow White were delighted to hear they could leave, but Richard frowned, "Snow White's poisoned..."
"Don't worry, I can detoxify her. Once we're out, I'll cure her," Evan said with a smile.
Richard and Snow White were overjoyed at this. Lora Luo finally understood Evan's plan and was deeply impressed.
Of course, if Evan didn't have detoxification abilities, he wouldn't dare try this.
So, the next thing heard was the two of them cursing loudly. The demons outside laughed, as if mocking them.
Once the act was over, Evan sent them into the tower and left with Lora Luo.
At the cave entrance, Evan sighed, "Damn, I tried to persuade them and still got cursed. Let's go—time to carry out Senior's task."
Then he left with Lora Luo. As for the demons outside, seeing only two people come out and knowing Snow White was poisoned and couldn't escape, they didn't bother to check inside. The demon who brought Evan went straight back to Blue Sky.
After hearing the whole story, Blue Sky laughed, "That brat deserved to be cursed."
"My king, what should we do now?" the demon asked.
"Once that brat brings back the Skyfrost Snow Lotus, I can refine a Life-Saving Pill. With that pill, I'll have ways to make Snow White come around, and I can control that human too. Then Snow White won't fight me anymore," Blue Sky said with a smile.
"Of course. My king has waited so many years—finally, someone can go to the snowfield," the demon said with a grin.
"Exactly. Otherwise, I'd have made Snow White come around long ago, and wouldn't have needed to freeze her in Black Moon Cave to keep her from suicide," Blue Sky replied.
"My king is truly wise," the demon laughed.
"Alright, enough flattery. Now that Snow White's poisoned and Richard's there, he surely doesn't want to just watch her die. Who knows what they're planning, but as long as they don't commit suicide, that's fine. They're probably thinking of ways to escape," Blue Sky said.
"Not sure. I'll check tomorrow," the demon replied.
"Alright, just check once a day. Don't be too frequent or they'll resent it. I want them to know I'm a good person, not some evil demon," Blue Sky laughed.
"My king is definitely the best. Snow White will come around sooner or later," the demon laughed and left, leaving Blue Sky pleased.
But soon he calmed down and said, "Now that Snow White's poisoned and Richard is thinking about dying, they probably won't want to die right away since they're finally together. Let them reminisce for a while and forget about dying—that's not a bad approach."
Meanwhile, Evan and Lora Luo had already left Blue Sky's territory. After flying for most of the day, they stopped and released Snow White and Richard from the tower.
But Snow White looked terrible—it was the poison. Evan knew they'd spent a long time in the tower, so before Richard could speak, Evan quickly detoxified her.
After a while, the poison was gone, but Snow White's face was still pale. Evan didn't understand why her complexion hadn't improved since rescuing her from Black Moon Cave, especially after so much time in the tower.
So Evan frowned and asked, "Senior Richard, why does Snow White still look so bad?"
"I don't know. Snow White, what's going on?" Richard asked, frowning.
Snow White gave a bitter smile. "I have nothing left to hide. I have a terminal illness—at most, I only have a few years left. Blue Sky knew all along. He was afraid I'd kill myself, so he froze me to slow my lifespan."
