Snow White's words hit Richard like a thunderclap. After thousands of years of waiting and risking everything, this was the outcome. His voice shook with emotion: "Snow White, you're not going to die. I'll find a way to save you, no matter what."
"It's hopeless. If there was any other way, Blue Sky wouldn't have sealed me in ice," Snow White said with a sigh.
Tears streamed down Richard's face again. All those years of waiting and fighting—only to end up with nothing, and now learning Snow White was dying.
Evan Yang and Lora Luo felt a pang of sadness, but Evan kept his cool. He quickly asked, "The Nine-Heaven Ice Lotus—can it cure you?"
"How do you know about that?" Snow White gasped, startled.
Richard clung to the hope like a drowning man to a lifeline. "What is the Nine-Heaven Ice Lotus? Can it really save you?"
Snow White sighed. "It really can save me, but it only grows in a world of ice. Even Blue Sky's strongest men won't go near that place—there are even fiercer demons, and the ice is unbelievably tough. If you don't have the power to break through, you'll never find the Nine-Heaven Ice Lotus."
"Blue Sky actually told me about it. He kept me alive just to fetch the Nine-Heaven Ice Lotus for him, then planned to kill me after. He never imagined I'd detoxify myself and sneak you two out," Evan explained.
Snow White and Richard finally understood why Blue Sky had asked Evan if he could break the ice—and something else clicked for them.
Richard looked at Evan again, then dropped to his knees. "Brother Yang, I've never begged anyone before. But this time, I'm begging you."
