Encounter with Sean Chen

12/19/2025

Boom! A torrent of violent power swept Joe Di, smashing a giant peak into rubble and driving him deep underground.

At this moment, there wasn't a single intact spot on Joe Di's body; his bones were nearly shattered. But these injuries weren't caused by the impact with the mountain—they came from being torn apart by space itself during the void transmission.

Instead, Joe Di actually felt a sense of relief. He knew that the transmission was finally over. As long as he still drew breath, he would eventually recover. He just didn't know which universe he'd been sent to, or how long it would take to return to the Five Elements Universe.

The only thing Joe Di worried about was whether there were any powerful cultivators here. Right now, he had almost no means of protecting himself. Even his body, his sole reliance for survival, had been battered nearly to its limit during the transmission. If anyone—even an average cultivator—came by, he might be forced to hide in his own world and leave his fate to chance.

Joe Di's divine sense could no longer penetrate outward, but fortunately, he cultivated the Path of Rules. Even if his divine sense couldn't reach, he could still sense the surrounding laws of heaven and earth.

An hour passed before Joe Di stopped sensing. He was certain there were people here—perhaps more than one. Though he wasn't sure if they'd noticed his arrival, his top priority was to recover his strength as quickly as possible.

Joe Di wanted to find another place to heal, but he simply couldn't leave. In other words, even if he struggled to move, he wouldn't get far.

What gradually eased Joe Di's mind was that a whole month passed, and still no one came. By now, he'd barely regained some ability to protect himself, and the first thing he did was leave the pit he'd smashed into.

Since no one came to trouble Joe Di, he certainly wasn't foolish enough to go looking for others himself.

Joe Di's divine sense had recovered somewhat, but was still far from restored. Beneath his perception lay a barren wasteland, dotted with countless peaks of all sizes—some towering into the clouds, others barely a hundred feet high. If one swept this region with divine sense from afar, it would appear as a forest of mountains.

Joe Di didn't leave this forest of peaks. Instead, he found a towering mountain, built a simple cave abode, and entered his personal world to heal.

In Joe Di's view, the one who ambushed him was almost certainly Sean Chen, that bastard. Sean Chen went to the Five Elements Universe but left a trap behind, causing problems with Joe Di's transmission.

Sean Chen's arrival in the Five Elements Universe was a disaster for that realm. Unfortunately, Joe Di could only worry helplessly—there was nothing he could do.

......

Although Emperor Ye's Dao had undergone Nirvana and he'd even perfected his universe's time, his Dao itself was not yet complete. His Dao gave birth to all things, and he had condensed the only Dao Seed in the vast chaos.

With this Dao Seed condensed, it meant he would one day stand at the pinnacle of the vast chaos. Perhaps someone could match him in the future, but no one would ever surpass him.

Yet, even though his Dao Seed was formed, for it to grow into a towering tree in the chaos—or even the universe's supreme existence—was still impossible. Because his Dao Seed was born of love, he had to find the woman who helped him condense it.

Boom! When Emperor Ye shattered a giant peak and fell underground, his physical body was almost completely obliterated by the Nirvana of the Void Universe.

The World Tree frantically nourished Emperor Ye's flesh and bones. Only after three years did Emperor Ye finally open his eyes.

He was simply grateful to be alive. When he tore open that void rift and charged inside, his fate was no longer his own. A terrifying vortex of void wrapped around him, and all he could do was protect a sliver of vitality while the space rift and the destructive aura of the void tore at his Dao and body.

The moment he was caught by the void vortex, Emperor Ye's only hope was for the ordeal to end quickly.

The longer it lasted, the slimmer his chances of survival became.

Yet he didn't regret it. He only worried about Serena Green. He was certain the path he'd taken was the same one Serena Green had traveled. If even he struggled, always on the brink of death, how could Serena Green fare any better?

......

As Emperor Ye fell, just hundreds of miles away within a towering peak, a black-bearded man opened his eyes. He frowned, forcibly suppressing the urge to seize and interrogate this outsider cultivator.

He knew he wasn't the only one here. Someone else had arrived in this realm before him. That person was powerful—so powerful, in fact, that he sensed the black-bearded man's presence. Not only that, the newcomer had left the impact site after just a month.

He feared that if he left the giant peak, the previous arrival would immediately sense his weakness. He had to recover more strength, at least enough to ensure his own survival.

......

Time flew by. In the blink of an eye, ten years had passed.

Emperor Ye stood up. After ten years, he'd regained part of his strength. He knew there were other cultivators nearby, but that wasn't the main reason he wanted to leave. He'd come here to search for Serena Green, and the longer he stayed, the less likely he was to find her.

He'd arrived here by following Serena Green's trail, which meant Serena Green was connected to this realm.

However, Emperor Ye didn't immediately use his escape technique to leave. He sensed someone approaching—and that person was exceptionally powerful.

Almost as soon as Emperor Ye stepped out and steadied himself, the newcomer appeared before him.

It was a black-bearded man with a dignified face. Even before they fought, Emperor Ye could sense this man's strength surpassed his own.

Emperor Ye was still injured, and so was the man before him—but the latter had clearly spent much longer healing.

"Who are you? Where did you come from?" The black-bearded man fixed his gaze on Emperor Ye, his domain already sealing off the space. Having been ambushed himself, he wouldn't let any newcomer leave easily.

Emperor Ye was about to leave, but that was no longer possible.

Emperor Ye raised his hand, and the Violet Saber appeared in his grip. He spoke in a calm tone, "If you want my name, introduce yourself first."

"Heh, I know who you are. Even someone as useless as Lyle Yew can force you to hide. I hear you're one of the strongest in the Five Elements Universe—your name should be Emperor Ye. And where did Nick Ning and Zachary Zephyr go?" The black-bearded man chuckled, recognizing Emperor Ye by the Violet Saber.

Emperor Ye frowned. He was certain that countless planes separated this place from the Sacred Dao Domain he came from. Even the Five Elements Universe was who-knows-how-many planes away. Yet this man recognized him at a glance—just who was he?

"Don't know who I am? Sean Chen. You spent years fleeing in the Five Elements Universe, surely you've heard of me." Sean Chen grinned, clearly not taking Emperor Ye seriously.

Even if his injuries were worse than Emperor Ye's, Sean Chen was still confident he could crush him. The rules of the Five Elements Universe were incomplete—not entirely Sean Chen's doing, but he was certainly one of the culprits.

What Sean Chen wanted to know was: how did Emperor Ye come here from Genesis City?

"Sean Chen?" Emperor Ye's eyes narrowed. He'd heard the name before—the Fourth Vice Mayor of Genesis City. No wonder he recognized him.

If he weren't injured, having comprehended the true Grand Way of All Things, Emperor Ye wouldn't fear Sean Chen—even without finding Serena Green. But now, his wounds were far worse than Sean Chen's, making this fight risky.

"That's right, I'm Sean Chen. So, how did you get here? I'll give you a chance at reincarnation." Sean Chen snorted coldly, sure Emperor Ye hadn't come via Genesis City's transmission channel.

"Enough nonsense." Emperor Ye couldn't be bothered with Sean Chen's chatter. The Violet Saber twisted through the air, unleashing a warped blade pattern.

Sean Chen's domain cracked beneath the warped blade, no longer able to completely seal Emperor Ye in.

Sean Chen's expression shifted slightly. Emperor Ye's strength was far greater than his sources had claimed. If Emperor Ye weren't injured, Sean Chen was sure Lyle Yew would have been instantly slain by him.

(That's all for today's update. Good night, friends!)
