Evan Yang didn't care how everyone addressed Immortal Lord Lin, but his hatred for Lin had reached its peak. He hoped to break through to a realm close to the Immortal Lord level soon, so he could personally deal with this man.
"It's our turn. Let's go." Evan Yang said, seeing that the teleportation array ahead was now empty.
Chris Lee nodded, walked over with Evan Yang, and the other eight followed them into the array.
Among these eight, three were people Evan Yang had personally taught a lesson before. "Why are they tagging along?" Evan wondered to himself. The atmosphere among the ten was awkward, as if a fight could break out at any moment.
Chris knew these were all people Evan had beaten, so he stood quietly at Evan's side. When the array activated, everyone's vision went dark. After a while, they arrived at another place.
This place was a platform, surrounded by formations. "Is this an Immortal Formation?" Evan Yang asked curiously.
"Yeah, it's a sixth-rank defensive formation. It protects us when we arrive here, but once we leave, we're on our own," Chris explained.
"I see." Evan Yang noticed the platform was huge, and saw many strangers. With Chris's explanation, he learned that people from other Palaces also teleported here. Everyone would head out to hunt Void Shredder Bugs, and could return here to trade bug corpses for points during the year-long mission.
"Have you been here before?" Evan Yang asked.
"Not this spot. I went to other places in the past," Chris replied.
Evan Yang understood, then wanted to see what ways there were to learn about the outside situation. He soon noticed a crowd gathered around someone selling goods.
"People sell things here too?" Evan Yang asked suspiciously.
"Yeah. Besides us from Ethereal Sanctuary, only outside formations can connect here, so anyone who uses those can teleport in," Chris explained.
After hearing Chris's explanation, Evan Yang realized that not everyone here was from Ethereal Sanctuary—there were also people from outside.
He was curious—weren't people from Ethereal Sanctuary afraid of others sneaking away? After all, in many people's eyes, Ethereal Sanctuary was a place where it was hard to survive. So Evan asked Chris about this.
Chris shook his head after hearing this. "The only teleportation array here is managed by Ethereal Sanctuary. Unless you have a top-ten Pass Token or came from another place, you can't leave. For everyone else, once you're here, you can't get out—unless you enter a spatial crack or get swept away by a Void Tempest."
"I see. Let's go check it out." Evan Yang felt like this place was basically a lively marketplace.
Besides Ethereal Sanctuary members, there were outsiders here too, so the platform was big enough for lots of people. Some couldn't wait to leave—they went to the array's exit, where guards let them out. Those guards were also from Ethereal Sanctuary.
"What's being sold here? Why is it so busy?" Evan Yang looked over curiously and saw lots of people buying things.
When Evan Yang activated Thousand-Mile Echo, he found out they were selling maps. The vendor shouted, "The most complete map in this region—only ten thousand lower-grade Immortal Source, cheap!"
"Ten thousand lower-grade?" Evan Yang wanted to see what kind of map could be so cheap, and whether it was really a map of this place.
He saw people stepping up to buy maps, but the seller wasn't stupid—he wanted to make money, so he couldn't just use paper. He used something special to make them: each was a plaque, with the map recorded inside.
"Why are so many people buying? Couldn't a few just copy it?" Evan Yang asked curiously.
"It's impossible to copy. These plaques are single-use—once you look at the contents, they vanish, and the map in your mind can't be copied out," Chris explained.
"Single-use? Can't be copied? That's pretty weird," Evan Yang said suspiciously.
"Yeah, they're made by the biggest plaque artisan sect in the Immortal Realm. They have powerful formation masters and artifact refiners—they make lots of these plaques, and Immortal Realm people all go there to buy batches, just for this kind of one-time use," Chris explained.
Evan Yang understood, so he stepped forward to buy one, but realized he didn't have any Immortal Source on him. He felt a bit helpless, so he quietly asked, "Do you have ten thousand lower-grade Immortal Source?"
"I do," Chris replied immediately, understanding what Evan meant.
Chris took out ten thousand lower-grade Immortal Source and handed it to Evan. Evan said, "I'll treat it as a loan from you."
"No need—I'll just buy it for you," Chris quickly shook his head.
