After the formation was disbanded, the Tian Clan martial artists all felt a sense of relief—they were no longer being led around by the nose. At the same time, the situation between the two sides reversed: facing chaotic attacks from over thirty people, Lynn Ning was no longer as comfortable as before and found herself at a disadvantage. Fortunately, her Featherwing Steps technique was extremely refined, so she hadn't been injured yet, but she knew this couldn't last much longer.
Sure enough, after less than a quarter of an hour, a small lapse left Lynn Ning with a fresh wound on her left shoulder.
"Damn bastard!"
Feeling the burning pain radiating from her shoulder, Lynn Ning was completely enraged. With a thought, more than a dozen golden cards appeared in her hand.
In the next instant, the cards erupted with powerful energy, transforming into a massive sword-qi beam over three zhang long.
"Puff, puff, puff, puff!"
The sword light flashed like lightning, slashing down from above.
In an instant, fourteen people were sliced in half by fourteen beams of sword-qi.
Seeing fourteen companions killed in a flash, the remaining nineteen showed shock and a hint of terror. Some even felt lucky that the sword-qi hadn't targeted them—otherwise, they might have been the ones to die.
As for the Gui Brothers, seeing Lynn Ning kill fourteen top War Saints in a single move, they couldn't help but swallow nervously.
In the Gui Clan, even a top War Saint counted as high-level combat power.
But the black-clothed elder behind them showed a strange gleam in his eyes and a thoughtful expression, having discovered that the girl's attacks came from some kind of card.
The long-haired man leading the Tian Clan looked especially grim.
He barked in a deep voice, “All War Saints, withdraw!”
At his command, all the War Saints retreated, leaving only eight War God–level martial artists to continue encircling Lynn Ning.
“Miss Lynn Ning, I’ll ask you one last time—are you willing to surrender?” the long-haired man demanded coldly.
“You people are seriously annoying. I’ll give you a warning too: take your men and leave right now, or I’ll kill every last one of you!” Lynn Ning said, her face icy.
“Suit up in power armor!”
The long-haired man’s eyes flashed with anger at her words, then he issued an order to the eight War God–level fighters.
On command, the eight War Gods raised their wrists to reveal silver watches. With a light press, a burst of silver light enveloped them, wrapping their bodies in armor.
When the silver light faded, all eight War God martial artists were clad in exquisitely crafted suits of silver power armor.
Among the onlookers, someone exclaimed, “My god, that's Silver-Gilt Power Armor—one of the very best models!”
Another spectator chimed in, “I heard even the cheapest Silver-Gilt Power Armor costs at least a billion Federation Credits per set!”
“Wearing Silver-Gilt Power Armor doubles both combat strength and defense. That girl probably won’t be able to hold out!”
“Go!”
With a light shout, the eight War Gods in Silver-Gilt Power Armor charged at Lynn Ning.
“Clang, clang, clang, clang!”
Her short sword struck the power armor again and again, but couldn’t break through its defenses.
“Bang!”
With a muffled grunt, Lynn Ning took a punch to the shoulder and was sent flying backward.
“This is bad, the beauty’s in danger! Xiao Hu, let’s hurry and save her!” Drake Gui shouted anxiously.
“No rush, let’s watch a bit longer,” Hugh Gui waved his hand.
Sure enough, as she was sent flying, more than a dozen cards appeared in Lynn Ning’s hand.
“Buzz, buzz, buzz!”
The cards activated, shining with golden light, then landed on Lynn Ning and formed over ten thin layers of golden shields. The moment the shields formed, the Tian Clan fighters’ attacks arrived.
A barrage of heavy blows failed to shake Lynn Ning’s body.
Seizing the moment, she pulled out eight purple cards.
“Go!”
She casually tossed the eight cards into the air; eight bolts of purple lightning blasted forth, each one hitting its target.
Instantly, all eight War Gods in Silver-Gilt Power Armor collapsed to the ground, their fate unknown.
Song Yan rarely needed System Shop items himself, so before leaving the Homeworld, he exchanged hundreds of different item cards and gave them to Lynn Ning—just in case she ran into trouble and needed a boost.
Those eight purple item cards just now were Heavenly Thunder Cards.
“Now it’s your turn!”
Lynn Ning’s gaze locked onto the long-haired man, then in a flash, she charged straight at him.
“Hmph!”
With a cold snort, the long-haired man swung his fist to meet her.
The man’s boxing technique wasn’t exactly refined, but his punches were powerful and fast. Plus, his combat experience was extremely rich—every move radiated ruthless intent.
In just over twenty exchanges, five layers of Lynn Ning’s shield were broken. If not for those shields, she would’ve lost to him already.
“Crack!”
Another shield shattered. Lynn Ning retreated several meters, then drew dozens of item cards of various colors.
Staring coldly at her opponent, Lynn Ning said, “I may not be able to beat you, but I’ve got plenty of item cards. Are you really still going to try and capture me?”
Seeing those dozens of item cards, the long-haired man felt a chill run down his scalp. He had a bad feeling that this mission was doomed to fail.
“Fight or leave—I’ll give you ten seconds to decide!” Lynn Ning said icily.
“Fine!”
After just five seconds, the long-haired man gave in.
Soon, he led the Tian Clan people away, leaving the Gui Brothers quite disappointed. They cursed the Tian Clan for being useless, withdrawing so quickly and depriving them of a chance to show off.
Just then, their men who’d gone to investigate Lynn Ning’s identity returned.
When they learned that Lynn Ning was also headed to the Tenth Natural Planet, the brothers couldn’t hide their excitement—since they were going there too.
Ten minutes later.
A large group of warriors in power armor, carrying laser cannons, rushed into the hall and heavily surrounded Lynn Ning.
When private force failed to subdue Lynn Ning, the Tian Clan resorted to military power.
“Miss, you’ve killed people in public, violating the Federation Empire’s criminal law. Please don’t resist—come with us!” said a man in a colonel’s uniform as he stepped forward.
“And if I refuse?” Lynn Ning asked coldly.
“Then we’ll have to kill you!” The colonel spoke slowly. “It’s a shame for a girl as beautiful as you to die. I advise you to surrender.”
“Why don’t you try me?”
A chilly murderous intent flashed in Lynn Ning’s eyes.
“Hmph, don’t know what’s good for you. Open fire!”
“Wait!”
Just then, the Gui Brothers stepped forward together. “We’re the Gui Brothers of the Gui Clan. We can testify that this young lady is innocent—she was acting in self-defense!”
Hearing the Gui Brothers’ name, the colonel’s face changed in shock. He hurriedly bowed, but felt bitter inside. He’d come to make an arrest on orders from the Tian Clan, but now the Gui Brothers were involved.
Neither the Tian Clan nor the Gui Clan were forces a mere colonel could afford to offend. He hesitated—should he make the arrest, or just let it go?
