Stealing the Wine

After hearing Prince Adrian Wood's words, Evan Yang and Lynn Lin were curious to see what tricks the prince was up to.

All the servants and guards stood beside Prince Adrian Wood, as if waiting for something. After a while, a guard brought over a man dressed in Daoist robes. Evan Yang sized up the newcomer, then withdrew his attention, while the prince smiled and said, "Master Quentin Green, I'll leave it to you."

"I've already heard about it," replied Master Quentin Green.

"That's good," said Prince Adrian Wood.

Master Quentin Green addressed the crowd, "Everyone, come closer to Prince Adrian Wood. I'm about to begin the spell."

Evan Yang and Lynn Lin exchanged a glance, then joined the group of servants. Master Quentin Green took out a wooden staff, planted it in the center of the garden, and set up a formation around it. He then retreated to Prince Adrian Wood's side and said, "Prince Adrian, if the insect escapes the garden, it'll enter my formation. I've made preparations."

Hearing this, Evan Yang finally understood: Prince Adrian Wood had returned in hopes of finding the insect. But Evan had already retrieved it—how could they possibly find it now?

Everyone watched Master Quentin Green casting his spell, but nothing happened. People exchanged puzzled looks, eager to see how this master would catch the bug.

As time passed, Master Quentin Green grew anxious. Why wasn't his spell working today? Was there really nothing strange here?

Prince Adrian Wood's expression darkened. If things kept going like this, they probably wouldn't find anything. But he was still curious—how had a servant and a guard been bitten in the first place?

The others gradually sensed something was off, but Evan Yang secretly found it amusing. Finally, Master Quentin Green awkwardly said, "Looks like there's nothing here."

"How could there be nothing? What about those two?" Prince Adrian Wood protested.

"It's true. I've tried several times, but nothing works," Master Quentin Green admitted, embarrassed.

Prince Adrian Wood knew Master Quentin Green wouldn't lie, so he said, "In that case, Master, please come with me to check on those two. We'll decide what to do next."

"Alright," Master Quentin Green nodded. The guards carried the two away, and Quentin followed. Watching them leave, Lynn Lin laughed, "I really don't know what they're doing—there's clearly no insect, yet they insist there is."

"If the bug is really that powerful, it's pretty impressive," Evan Yang laughed.

Lynn Lin never imagined the insect was released by Evan Yang. News of the strange bug quickly spread throughout House Wood. Some timid people refused to approach the garden, making the area even less frequented.

This was exactly what Lynn Lin and Evan Yang wanted—the fewer people, the better.

Meanwhile, Prince Adrian Wood was in his palace. Two bodies lay on a platform as Master Quentin Green examined them, muttering, "How strange."

"What's wrong, Master?" Prince Adrian Wood asked curiously.
