Far away in China, Yina Yin suddenly woke up from her dream, startled.
She clutched her chest with her right hand, gasping for breath.
Usually healthy, this was the first time she truly understood what heartbreak felt like.
It felt as if her heart had been ripped in half, the pain so intense she could barely breathe!
"Cherry... Cherry..." Yina Yin grabbed her phone with one hand and pressed the emergency call button.
A minute later, Cherry Miller, still in pajamas, rushed in like the wind.
As soon as she entered, she saw Yina Yin pale and drenched in sweat, and was instantly scared. "Yina, what happened? Are you feeling sick? I'll go get the doctor..."
Yina Yin grabbed Cherry Miller's hand, her grip so strong it almost broke Cherry's arm. "I dreamed about Miles Gu. In the dream, he didn't recognize me. He said he was leaving! Cherry, what does this mean?"
"Don't panic, it's just a dream." Cherry Miller immediately soothed Yina Yin, gently rubbing her back. "I'll call the doctor right away. You must be exhausted from worrying about Miles Gu lately. Don't worry, I'm here with you!"
Cherry Miller took out her phone and quickly dialed the doctor's number.
Soon, the doctor arrived with a nurse, carrying a medical kit and rushing in.
They first checked Yina Yin's blood pressure and blood sugar, then performed a heart exam.
Strangely, all the results came back normal.
After all the tests, Yina Yin gradually returned to normal, just like her usual self.
"How do you feel? Does your heart still hurt?" Cherry Miller asked nervously.
"It doesn't hurt anymore." Yina Yin shook her head and comforted Cherry Miller instead. "Maybe you're right, I'm just too anxious. These days, there's been no news about Miles Gu. I can't eat or sleep, even the strongest person would break down."
At this moment, the doctor frowned and said, "We've already tested your blood and urine, and everything is normal. Miss Yin, keep monitoring yourself and pay attention to rest and nutrition."
"Okay, I'll remember." Yina Yin nodded to the doctor. "Sorry to trouble you in the middle of the night."
"It's our duty." The doctor packed up the equipment and said, "Call us anytime if you feel unwell."
"Alright." Cherry Miller saw the doctor and nurse out, then turned back to Yina Yin, covering her hand and whispering, "Mr. and Mrs. Yin have already sent people to the UK. No matter how much they try to block us over there, they can't stop Mr. and Mrs. Yin's people. Don't worry, we might have news by tomorrow."
Yina Yin leaned against Cherry Miller, looking exhausted. "Cherry, I feel like I've lost something... but I can't put my finger on it."
Cherry Miller gently wrapped her arms around Yina Yin, softly patting her back. "We're all here for you."
Yina Yin sighed and closed her eyes gently.
After coaxing Yina Yin to sleep, Cherry tiptoed back to her own room.
She glanced at the clock on the wall—it was three in the morning.
It must still be daytime for Miles Gu over there, right?
Miles Gu, it's time to come home.
This is your real home.
Far away on the island, Miles Gu suddenly opened his eyes.
His red eyes showed no emotion—cold and distant, like snow on a mountain peak.
"He's awake! He's awake!" Someone nearby cheered in surprise.
Miles Gu glanced around coldly, his voice now icy and devoid of warmth: "Who are you people?"
A woman walked over, took Miles Gu's hand, and pressed it to her cheek, gazing at him tenderly. "Miles, you're awake. I'm Elisa Field, your fiancée. We've been betrothed since childhood and love each other deeply. Do you remember?"
Miles vaguely remembered having a fiancée, someone he cared about deeply—as if she were his whole world.
Was it this woman standing before him?
The people around nodded, "Yes, Elisa is your fiancée. You even said that when the hillside was covered with flowers, you'd marry her."
Miles looked at Elisa, and his gaze softened instantly. "I'm home, Elisa."
Elisa stared at Miles in disbelief—he actually believed her story.
Such a handsome man was hers, from now on?
Elisa threw herself into Miles's arms, overcome with joy and tears. "I'm so glad you're back, Miles. Thank God you've finally come to me!"
Miles held Elisa, feeling that something was off, but he couldn't quite say what.
Mr. Locke exchanged glances with the others, a proud smile spreading across his face.
Hypnosis plus awakening—he really was the best!
Even Miles Gu had been successfully hypnotized by him!
"Why am I here?" After recognizing Elisa, Miles glanced around, his eyes cold. "What happened before I lost consciousness?"
Elisa stepped forward and took Miles's arm. "It's a long story. Far away in the East, there's the Yin family. They once saved you, so they forced you to marry their tomboy daughter. You didn't want to, but you owed them a favor, so you hesitated."
"Hesitated? Why would I hesitate? No one in this world can make me do anything I don't want to do." Miles frowned. "Yin family? Why does that sound unfamiliar?"
Elisa turned to look at Mr. Locke.
Was this hypnosis or brainwashing?
Why did Miles lose all his old memories?
A bead of cold sweat slid down Mr. Locke's forehead.
He had no idea what went wrong.
Normally, hypnosis implants a set idea, but most memories remain intact.
So why was Miles's memory so off this time?
Did his awakened Second Persona really forget, or is he just pretending?
"The current head of the Yin family is Charles Yin," someone reminded Miles.
When Miles heard the name Charles Yin, he felt a little dazed. He vaguely remembered calling this man 'Dad.'

But why would he call him Dad?
Wasn't he supposed to be a member of the Field Family?
Was it only because she was Charles Yin's daughter that he called him 'Dad'?
At that moment, Miles Gu's head suddenly began to ache, as if someone was fighting him for control over his body.
Ah, damn it!
What the hell is going on?
Miles Gu's red eyes flashed with confusion for a moment, but quickly regained clarity.
He refused to let anything slip out of his control, and even more so, he wouldn't allow anyone to fight him for control of his own body!
"Miles, are you okay?" Elisa Field's worried gaze warmed Miles's heart.
Even if it was just for this woman he loved, he had to figure out what was going on.
"It's nothing, maybe I'm just feeling a bit unwell." Miles said. "Elisa, I seem to have forgotten a lot of things, including the time I spent with you. You don't mind, do you?"
"No, no, not at all!" Elisa was so happy she cried. "I'm willing to start over with you."
"Elisa, I'll treat you well," Miles said to her. "No matter what happens, I won't let anyone hurt you."
Elisa threw her arms around Miles, too overjoyed to speak.
At first, when those people asked her to pretend to be Miles's fiancée, she had her doubts.
Although Miles was amazing and perfect in every way...
Men like him would have exceptionally strong willpower.
Would he really believe her?
If his primary persona suddenly woke up, would he come after her for revenge?
But when she saw Miles, all her worries vanished!
Just one look, and she was lost in Miles's beauty, unable to pull herself out.
Even if she had to pay the price later, it would be worth it!
To have a man like this, even for just one day, would be worth it!
Sure enough, Miles Gu's second persona brought those people immense surprise.
Cold, decisive, ruthless.
He fit the requirements of an ambitious family head perfectly.
And he was extremely intelligent. They only gave him a rough background story, but he filled in the details himself.
Now, Miles Gu was convinced he was the true-born heir of the Field Family, kidnapped and trafficked to Vietnam as a child, and later rescued by Mona Mu and Cecilia Grant.
So to repay their kindness, he agreed to marry Cecilia Grant's daughter.
Now the family wanted to help him break off this engagement, so they called him back from China.
"A life-saving favor must be repaid, but not at the cost of my marriage." Miles frowned. "Forget it, I'll go back and end the engagement myself."
Elisa was afraid Miles's primary persona would wake up if he went back, so she quickly said, "Miles, maybe you should listen to the head steward and let him handle the breakup."
"No." Miles rejected the idea outright.
He didn't know why he insisted, but deep down, he wanted to see the woman named Yina Yin.
"Since I made the engagement, I should be the one to end it. Elisa, don't worry. If I say I'll break it off, I will." Miles's gentle red eyes looked at Elisa. "If you're worried, you can come with me."
"Alright then." Elisa was indeed worried, but Miles was so resolute—even the Field Family couldn't control him.
She hoped Miles's primary persona would never wake up.
Just as Yina Yin was about to personally visit the Field Family, news about Miles finally arrived.
But the news was something no one could accept.
Miles Gu was going to break off the engagement.
Yina Yin was stunned, unable to react for a long time.
After a while, she turned to Cherry Miller. "Cherry, am I hearing things? Miles wants to break up with me?"
Cherry Miller was so shocked she couldn't speak. Hearing Yina Yin's question, she instinctively denied it: "There must be some mistake! Miles would never break off the engagement! I'll go find out what's going on!"
"I'll go with you!" Yina Yin shot to her feet. "If he's back and doesn't come to see me, I need to ask him what's going on!"
