Chapter 895: Ruined

Wagner even noticed that none of those legion mages showed the slightest sign of panic. Some simply summoned their fire element avatars, and the previously raging flames faded away. It seemed they could easily handle this kind of sneak attack without any help at all.

Wagner forced a smile, glanced at Leon—who was lost in thought—and then at Reina, who seemed engrossed in her spell research, and couldn't help but shuffle a little farther away.

Terrifying. This woman was simply terrifying. A basic Freeze spell—even if it were a Limit Spell—should never have such power, able to instantly freeze an Eighth-Rank Sword Saint. Was she secretly a five-colored dragon or something?

She had to be a top-tier Ninth-Rank Title Archmage. Her mastery of frost magic had clearly surpassed the limits of any Title Archmage!

Her casting speed was even faster than a Sword Saint unleashing battle aura. What a terrifying powerhouse. And yet, she obediently followed behind Leon Merlin—just how strong was Leon really?

Damn it, could he be even stronger than this woman? Worse still, I can't even sense Leon Merlin's rank—has he already reached the threshold of Sky Rank?

Damn that Lord Daug, where did he even get his intel? Is this guy really as young as he looks? A twenty-something who's already got one foot in Sky Rank—are you kidding me?

Forget it, whatever. As long as Leon Merlin doesn't kick me out, I'm sticking with him. At least I can rack up some points—beats slinking back home in disgrace…

Wagner had made up his mind—he was going to shamelessly stick to Leon. Leon didn't bother chasing him away, treating him as if he didn’t exist, just letting him tag along.

In the blink of an eye, Hubert flew hundreds of meters away, vanishing from sight within a few seconds—no one knew just how far he'd been sent.

Flames burned in the Radiance Commander's eyes, and his entire body radiated a crimson aura. With a casual swing of his greatsword, the crimson battle aura exploded into another massive sword, slashing down fiercely.

Kurum calmly waved his Dragonscale Staff. Instantly, the fifty legion mages found their positions, and the dense elemental flames around them were rapidly consumed. Strands of crimson-gold fire began to swirl around each mage.

A firestorm dozens of meters thick erupted from the ground, as if a towering flame giant—tens of meters tall—was rising from the blaze. Facing the terrifying crimson battle aura, a massive flaming arm, four or five meters thick and dozens of meters long, stretched out from the fire.

At the tip of the arm, flames gathered rapidly, condensing into a gigantic shield over thirty meters wide in the blink of an eye. The shield's surface solidified, forming crimson-gold runes, making it look like an enormous shield forged from pure crimson gold.

The arm gripped the shield and braced against the massive crimson battle aura slash.

The crimson battle aura crashed into the giant crimson-gold shield, sounding like thousands of swords striking metal. The piercing clangs turned into visible ripples spreading outward, instantly pulverizing buildings within dozens of meters.

Three Black Iron Orcs who were too close clutched their ears in agony, screamed, and dropped dead. Blood oozed from their eyes, noses, and ears, and their bodies cracked like broken pottery.

A second later, the crimson battle aura slash vanished, and the flame giant—still shrouded in the firestorm—revealed half its body, with its other arm emerging from the blaze.

Flames erupted from the Radiance Commander's pitch-black eyes, and the crimson aura swirling around him grew denser, finally transforming into a phantom blaze that enveloped his entire body.

With a single stride, the Radiance Commander appeared dozens of meters from the Mage Legion. Crimson flames blazed on his greatsword, and his battle aura surged, making the sword seem to extend by another ten meters.

The Radiance Commander left an afterimage where he stood, and in the next instant, appeared before the half-formed flame giant, slashing his greatsword viciously at the giant's head.

The flame giant gripped the massive crimson-gold shield in one hand and stretched out its other. Instantly, its fiery palm scattered into countless flaming runes, swirling like flocks of birds in the sky, forming a rotating circle.

Large blue fireballs, each several meters wide, rapidly condensed within the giant circle.

Boom...

The first explosion sounded, signaling the start of the assault.

Every second, twenty or thirty Detonation spells erupted from the circle, raining down in a torrent of blue fire, crashing fiercely toward the Radiance Commander.

Crimson battle aura dominated half the sky, spraying out and colliding with the Detonation spells, painting the heavens in two colors.

One side was a savage crimson, the other a blue fire that seemed to ignite the entire sky.

After four or five seconds of clashes, hundreds of Detonation spells had been unleashed. The Radiance Commander could no longer hold out; crimson flames on his body surged, and he was blasted back over a hundred meters.

At that moment, Kurum, commanding the Mage Legion, decisively waved his Dragonscale Staff. The formation of fifty legion mages shifted again, and the elemental flames filling hundreds of meters were drawn toward the center.

Orange flames began to flow across the burning flame giant, condensing into massive runes on its surface, making its aura soar.

Suddenly, the flame giant's left hand, which gripped the crimson-gold shield, collapsed, turning into a mass of flaming runes. These runes formed a crimson-gold halo where the arm had been.

When the flame giant raised both arms, the two rune halos—each over ten meters wide—aimed at the Radiance Commander, whose expression changed.

In that second, it was as if the whole world suddenly brightened.

Countless fire spells erupted from the two rune halos—the weakest among them were Fifth-Rank spells!

Spear of the Fire God, Flame Dragon's Hand, Detonation, Meteor Fire—all these spells erupted from the halos in a torrent.

The terrifying flood of spells swept past, and the Radiance Commander didn't dare face it head-on—he could only keep dodging…

Wherever the torrent of terrifying fire spells passed, everything was reduced to ashes. The Black Iron Orc army seemed utterly powerless, swept away so thoroughly that not even fragments remained.

Even the so-called fireproof ironwood began to burn with roaring flames.

In just over ten seconds, more than half the remaining Black Iron Orcs were wiped out. At this point, the Radiance Commander realized that if he didn't stop the Mage Legion, Radiance Fortress would be utterly destroyed, and the Black Iron Orcs would be completely annihilated…

When the Radiance Commander charged forward again, the twin torrents of fire spells suddenly changed.

The two rune halos, which had seemed attached to the flame giant's arms, began to rotate in sync!

This sudden change caught the Radiance Commander completely off guard; he hadn't expected the rune halos to be unfixed.

They weren't attached to the flame giant's arms at all—they were floating in midair!

At this moment, the two rune halos spun around each other, and the terrifying torrents of fire spells, previously straight pillars, twisted upward in a spiral.

In a single second, the fire spells formed a tornado, and the Radiance Commander was trapped right in its center.
