Restoring the True Body

1/19/2026

As Serena Dream anxiously waited, Evan Chu—who lay sprawled on the ground—finally stirred. At that moment, he opened his dragon eyes, and a deafening dragon's roar thundered through the underground secret chamber of Frostbane Sect.

"Evan, wake up! It's me, Serena! Evan, don't you recognize your Serena anymore?" Serena Dream immediately called out to Evan Chu, who had already gotten to his feet.

Right now, Evan Chu’s mind was hazy, as if he were still dreaming. He felt as though he had completely become a dragon, soaring freely through the skies, unbound and untethered, with all his worries vanishing into thin air—so carefree, so wild.

But as he slowly responded to Serena Dream's voice, the fog in his mind began to lift. Glancing down at his own body, he was shocked to the core—he really had turned into a golden dragon, and yet he couldn’t change back into human form.

"Serena, what on earth is going on? How did I end up like this?" Evan Chu asked, utterly stunned, completely unaware of everything that had happened before.

"I don’t know why you turned out like this either. All I know is, at the time, you didn’t recognize anyone at all—you attacked anyone you saw. I don’t know why you suddenly stopped, but you looked like you were in terrible pain. It was Luna who subdued you, then Heaven Ape and Serena Dream brought you here to the underground chamber," Serena Dream explained briskly.

"Serena, I didn’t do anything too out of line, did I? If I did, you have to tell me the truth—let me see if I can make it up to you. Don’t hide it from me, I can take it," Evan Chu said, though his voice sounded a bit strange and not quite human.

"You didn’t do anything wrong, but the real issue now is how you’re going to turn back. Evan, do you have any way to recover your original form?" Serena Dream asked with concern.

"I have no idea how to change back either. My body doesn’t feel uncomfortable at all—unlike before, when I could recover my human form not long after turning into a dragon. Serena, if I stay like this forever, will you still love me? Will you still want to be my woman?" Evan Chu asked, his voice full of anxious longing.

"How can you still joke at a time like this? No matter what you become, I’ll always be your woman, and that’ll never change in this lifetime!" Serena Dream declared with passionate resolve.

Evan Chu was deeply moved in his heart—having a woman like Serena Dream by his side for a lifetime was more than enough. Suddenly, something seemed to occur to him, and he looked at Serena Dream, asking, "Serena, was it Luna who told Serena and Heaven Ape to bring me here? Did you meet her? What did she say to you?"

"Evan, the secrets you carry are honestly beyond belief. Yes, I did meet your Luna—she calls herself Xuanyuan Yueyan, right? And she’s still in soul form. She told me she’s your first woman, and that once your power grows strong enough, you’ll be able to restore her body. Honestly, she’s so beautiful, probably the most stunning woman I’ve ever seen," Serena Dream said, her voice tinged with awe.

Hearing Serena Dream’s words, Evan Chu completely believed her. The sword spirit’s true name, Xuanyuan Yueyan, was something only he knew—now that Serena Dream knew it too, it was the best proof. "Did she say anything else? Is there any way for me to recover my original body?" he pressed anxiously.

Serena Dream certainly wasn’t about to mention Luna’s hint about having a child with Evan. She just gave a wry smile and said, "She’s inside you. If you want answers, just ask her yourself—no need to ask me. Really, she didn’t say much, just told me to take good care of you."

Evan Chu gazed into Serena Dream’s eyes, searching for any sign of deceit, but her eyes were clear as spring water—absolutely honest. He nodded, "Then I’ll ask her myself!"

Before Evan could call out to Luna, her voice echoed in his mind: "Evan, don’t rush. Your Divine Star Core has already transformed into a Dragon Pearl. The golden dragon on it—your dragon soul—has now merged with your human consciousness in your sea of mind. Right now, you are a true golden dragon, a five-clawed golden dragon."

To recover your human body, no one can help you—not even your past self. Everything depends on you alone. It might take a long time and drain a lot of Chaos Dragon Force. You need to be mentally prepared for this ordeal."

"Luna, after absorbing Serena’s Gold Yin Qi this time, why did I transform like this? What exactly happened? How can I return to normal? You always explain things so clearly—just tell me straight, I’m dying here!" Evan Chu pleaded, anxious and frustrated.

"Actually, that little golden dragon is you. But because your bloodline hasn’t fully awakened, you can’t access the Dragon Clan’s inherited memories. Right now, you can breathe fire and cold flame only because you’ve comprehended the elements of water and fire. You can’t even unleash true dragonflame yet, so you’re not a complete golden dragon," Luna explained calmly.

At present, there are two ways for you to recover your body. One is to fully awaken your bloodline and become a true divine dragon. If I’m right, you’ll be more than a five-clawed golden dragon—at least seven or even eight claws, since your bloodline is that of the Primordial Dragon Clan. Its terrifying potential is beyond anything you can imagine right now.

But that path is as hard as ascending to the heavens. Maybe once you break through to the late Saint Martial Realm, you’ll have a chance. Otherwise, you’re left with the second method. It works too, but it needs patience, time, and a bit of luck.

You already have luck on your side, since Serena Dream—with her Demonic Yin Constitution—is right here with you. When your Chaos Dragon Force runs low and you can’t fully recover, you’ll need her help.

Most crucially, you need to fully communicate with the golden dragon in your sea of consciousness—merge your souls into one. Only then will you have a chance to return to your human form. Don’t rush this; right now, your golden dragon soul is fragile. It’s actually your second soul, and fusing a human soul with a dragon soul is unimaginably difficult.

It’s like forming a soul contract with the Golden Demon Eagle—one slip and it could all fall apart. Evan, hang in there! I believe you can do it. Once you succeed, your strength will leap forward again," Luna finished in one breath, leaving Evan Chu both awed and terrified.

Evan Chu didn’t say another word. He slowly closed his dragon eyes, keeping his mind clear and empty, and gradually used his soul power to sense the mysterious golden dragon in his sea of consciousness.

By now, Evan Chu’s soul power was incredibly strong, so this was easy for him. But as his soul approached the golden dragon in his mind, it was instantly repelled—he couldn’t get close at all. It was as if an invisible barrier was protecting it… (To be continued at dawn)
