In the desert—

All the husbands were dying to know what their girl had said to that king, and why he suddenly agreed!

And the weirdest part? The king actually got them camels, packed food and water, and sent his own people to guide them out of the valley. These guides, just like the Fire God and Ice God, had supernatural powers—they could always tell the way out of the desert, no matter where you were.

Those same people were the ones who brought all the outside news back to Xiska Mon, too.

"Wife, come on, tell us! What did you say to that king to make him agree?" Butterfly Rogue, ever the gossip, was practically bouncing with curiosity. Not being allowed to see Ivy Shen for a few hours had him more anxious than a hot ant on a frying pan—he just couldn't sit still.

"You really want to know?" Ivy Shen raised an eyebrow at Butterfly Rogue, seeing how desperate he was for answers.

"Of course I do! I really want to know!" He glanced at the rest of the guys—they all wanted answers too, but were totally pretending they didn't care. Actually, each one was even more desperate than him, just trying to act chill!

"The secret is..." Ivy leaned in close, then flashed a sly grin. "Not telling you!"

"Ugh, that's so mean! You're way too mean, wife!" Butterfly Rogue shouted, half embarrassed and half outraged.

The other six husbands all shot him a look of pure disdain. Come on, who was he kidding? The guy looked absolutely thrilled—nobody who's truly embarrassed would be grinning that wide!
