The Mysterious Person

Seeing Evan Lin strike out in front of Victor Su, sending Hugh Hu flying with a slap, everyone present couldn't help but flinch.

Their gazes toward Evan Lin were filled with even more fear, while their looks at Hugh Hu were mostly tinged with pity.

"Grandpa Su, you saw it! He hit me!"

Hugh Hu struggled to get up from the ground. Although his fighting skills weren't great, his ability to take a beating was top-notch.

At this moment, Hugh Hu wore a miserable expression as he looked at Victor Su, his gaze unconsciously drifting to Molly Su standing beside Victor. Seeing Molly's serene, almost otherworldly beauty, Hugh Hu felt an overwhelming urge to crawl into a hole.

Too humiliating!

The reason Hugh Hu respected Victor Su wasn't just because of the Su family, but because Hugh's grandfather had once fought alongside Victor on the battlefield. Their families still visited each other during holidays, so Hugh naturally didn't dare act up in front of Victor.

Now, after being slapped repeatedly by Evan Lin, Hugh Hu's face was completely unrecognizable.

Victor Su looked at Hugh Hu's battered face and sighed, "This is your own fault. Get up and apologize to this young friend."

"Apologize? This young friend?"

Hearing Victor Su's words, Hugh Hu's face froze, his expression turning extremely ugly.

The others nearby felt a storm raging in their hearts at Victor Su's words.

Everyone saw Victor Su call Evan Lin over earlier. When Evan returned so quickly, and alone, they thought Old Man Su must have mistaken him for someone else.

Who would've thought that not only did Old Man Su come in person, but he also called Evan Lin 'young friend'!

Evan Lin is only about seventeen this year. At that age, most kids are still hanging out in internet cafes or arcades, but this guy is already being called 'young friend' by Victor Su!

"Grandpa Su, I'm the one who got hit by him!"

Hugh Hu thought he'd misheard, couldn't help himself, and wanted to point at Evan Lin standing there. But remembering the slaps and the kick, he ended up pointing at his own swollen face instead.

"You know, Grandpa Su, I rely on this face my dad gave me to get by. Now he's beaten me to look like a pig—how am I supposed to go out and see people anymore?"

Hugh Hu's words were full of grievance and resentment, but with Victor Su present, he didn't dare act up.

"Yeah, he hit you pretty hard. But if you still consider me your Grandpa Su, then go apologize to this young friend."

Victor Su nodded, but as soon as he spoke, Hugh Hu's face turned so dark it was almost unrecognizable. Still, he didn't dare go against Victor—if his dad found out, he'd be in for a beating for sure.

The atmosphere instantly became tense.

Sawyer Summer had been sizing up Victor Su ever since he walked in. Hearing Victor call Evan Lin 'young friend' made Sawyer's opinion of Evan rise even higher.

Evan Lin remained calm, while Joy Zheng, Lucy Lu, and the others looked somewhat awkward. As for Ken Kong's group, none of them dared to even breathe loudly.

Hugh Hu clenched his fists tightly. Even Andrew Yang didn't dare make a sound, and Zack Guang couldn't move at all. The two girls they'd brought stayed completely silent.

"Hugh, are you planning to ignore my words?" Victor Su asked coldly, his eyes flashing as he stared at Hugh Hu. The heavy aura he'd built up from years on the battlefield and in business made it hard for Hugh to even breathe.

Hugh Hu took a deep breath. His expression slowly softened, and his swollen, pig-like face finally managed to look a little calmer.

He turned to look at Evan Lin. Everyone's eyes were fixed on Hugh Hu, waiting to see what he'd do next.

"Sorry, I was reckless."

Hugh Hu bowed deeply to Evan Lin, bending almost ninety degrees at the waist!

Seeing this, Andrew Yang and the others didn't dare make a sound.

No matter how wild Hugh Hu acted, he was always completely suppressed by Victor Su.

Right now, he understood even better—once Victor Su showed up, Andrew Yang and his group had no hope, even if Andrew was carrying a gun.

"Hugh!" Chen Ren's face changed drastically. He'd never seen Hugh Hu admit fault before.

Seeing Hugh Hu act like this, Chen Ren started to panic, but before he could finish speaking, Ken Kong smacked him on the head.

Ken Kong was furious. Right now, he just wanted Chen Ren to keep quiet—the situation was way out of their control.

Victor Su, Sawyer Summer—either one alone is a big deal, but now both are here backing Evan Lin.

Not only that, Evan Lin slapped Hugh Hu in front of everyone multiple times, and nobody dared say a word. If you jump out now and get on his bad side, you'd basically be asking for trouble.

Ken Kong looked at Evan Lin, his gaze deep and thoughtful. The more he watched, the less he could figure out what this kid's deal really was.

No one dared say a word. Hugh Hu kept bowing to Evan Lin, bent ninety degrees, not moving a muscle until Evan spoke.

"Young friend, Hugh is like a grandson to me. Could you give me a little face and let today's matter end here?" Victor Su smiled as he looked at Evan Lin. As soon as he said this, everyone else was already numb inside.

His grandson got beaten, and instead of standing up for him, Victor was asking the guy who hit him for forgiveness?

But nobody dared complain, because the guy who seemed crazy was Victor Su!

Hearing this, Hugh Hu felt even more stifled, but he knew today was definitely not the time to lose his temper.

Evan Lin's gaze was calm. He glanced at Victor Su, then at Hugh Hu, still bowing and not daring to move, and finally nodded, "Fine, I'll give your grandpa half a bit of face. But don't let there be a next time."

"Thank you, young friend."

Victor Su nodded slightly at Hugh Hu, showing not the slightest displeasure at Evan Lin's tone.

His posture made it clear—Evan Lin was standing above Victor Su!

"Thanks!"

Hugh Hu gritted his teeth and squeezed out the words, then turned to Victor Su, said goodbye, and left with Zack Guang and the rest who couldn't move.

Evan Lin stood there calmly. Ken Kong and Chen Shanshan felt like they were sitting on needles, finally got up, found an excuse, and took Chen Ren away.

"Everyone who's staying, please follow me. White Dragon Court hasn't seen this much excitement in ages." Sawyer Summer said coolly, but when he looked at Evan Lin, his eyes grew more eager.

"Hugh, is that it? Who is that guy anyway, to get so much respect from Old Man Su?" The tall girl asked outside, looking at Hugh Hu with some dissatisfaction.

"I don't know who he is, but with Grandpa Su here, I couldn't do anything. Back in the day, without Grandpa Su, my grandpa wouldn't have survived the battlefield—you all know that. I apologized because I owe Grandpa Su face. As for that guy, what he does isn't my concern." Hugh Hu said, his face grim.

"Besides, Zack needs treatment for his injuries ASAP."

Hugh Hu looked at Zack Guang, his eyes flickering. He still didn't understand why Zack suddenly couldn't move at all.

But to Hugh Hu and the others, Zack's injury was probably his own problem, not something Evan Lin caused. After all, Evan Lin didn't look like he could be Zack's match!

"Let's head back to Jinnan. I'll drive, we'll get there fast and take Zack straight home. The Guang family should know what to do." Andrew Yang nodded.

"That guy—hope he never comes to Jinnan!" Hugh Hu clenched his fists, eyes full of resentment.

On the other side, Ken Kong, Chen Shanshan, and the others left the building, with Chen Ren trailing behind them, his face extremely sour.

"Dad, who the heck is that guy? And his mom—she's just a primary school teacher in some county, right? How does she know Sawyer Summer and Old Man Su?" Chen Ren grumbled, still fuming over what just happened.

"It's not that simple." Ken Kong took a deep breath, turned around, and glanced back at the White Dragon Mountain Resort restaurant. "Back in school, Joy Zheng was the acknowledged campus beauty, but no one ever managed to win her over. It wasn't just her personality—more importantly, hardly anyone could get close to her circle!"

"Her circle?" Chen Shanshan was taken aback by Ken Kong's words.

She only knew that Ken Kong used to like Joy Zheng but failed to pursue her. Chen Shanshan honestly found Joy Zheng a bit annoying, but not enough to get angry over Ken's old crush.

This was actually the first time she'd ever heard Ken Kong talk about Joy Zheng's school days.

"Yeah, her circle was nothing like us regular students. Even now, I still don't know where Joy Zheng really came from, but she's definitely not just some ordinary primary school teacher." Ken Kong frowned deeply as he spoke.

"Zheng..." Chen Shanshan pondered the surname, then suddenly seemed to think of something. Her face changed, but then she muttered, "It can't be that Zheng family, right...?"

But no one noticed the change in her expression.
