Bit Her Finger

It was Prince Sarnell, the sixth prince of the Qilin Clan.

His Highness the Crown Prince could have easily defeated him.

However, because their cultivation level had dropped, they were no match for Prince Sarnell.

It was Evan Xiao who used a clever trick—harnessing the power of the Dragon Talisman and revealing his true form. It took everything he had to finally take Sarnell down, save Leon Zane, and keep their whereabouts a secret.

But Evan himself was seriously injured.

Sophie Shang had to return to recover from her wounds.

He couldn’t stay here for now.

Originally, Leon Zane and the others wanted to send him back right away.

But Evan insisted on seeing Grace before he left.

So, as soon as Lu Xin returned, he ordered someone to fetch Grace immediately.

......

"Miss Grace, everyone who hurt him is already dead," Louis Lin reported. "Now, he needs to retreat with the Divine Dragon and heal for a while."

"Divine Dragon? Can the Divine Dragon really help him heal?" Grace asked, confused.

"Absolutely," Leon Zane chimed in from the side. "He needs to go to the Divine Dragon right away. General Shang, could you escort him?"

General Shang?

Grace Lawrence glanced at Sophie Shang.

That day, when she saw Sophie Shang leading Qin Zhong and Louis Lin away, Grace Lawrence already suspected she had a special connection with Evan Xiao.

She hadn’t expected Leon Zane to know about that dragon.

Does Sophie Shang know too?

Could it be that, like Leon Zane and Bianca Whitefan, she's one of Evan Xiao's trusted confidants?

So, in her previous life, she replaced Evan Xiao and became the Grand General—how did that happen?

And what about those fake documents she handed to Colin Gu? What was that all about?

Could it be... was it all Evan Xiao’s idea?

......

As these thoughts flashed through Grace’s mind, Sophie Shang looked solemn and carefully reached for the Antler Serpent.

"Hold on!" Grace Lawrence grabbed her hand.

Sophie Shang lifted her gaze, her eyes cold as ice.

"I’ll do it myself!" Grace didn’t want anyone else touching Cutie Pie. "I’ll take it over."

"Miss Lawrence," Sophie Shang called out.

Grace Lawrence looked at her.

"The reason he's so badly hurt is all because of you! From now on, Miss Lawrence, please watch your words and don't make any more outrageous requests of the General!" Her voice carried a powerful sense of authority.

"What?" Grace Lawrence had no idea what she was talking about.

"When you rode the dragon into the sky, the Divine Dragon’s enemies spotted you. We were all injured by those enemies," Sophie Shang said sharply. "Now, the Divine Dragon refuses to see you!"

Grace’s eyes flickered.

"General Shang, don’t put it that way," Leon Zane interjected. "The enemies had already targeted the Divine Dragon. It was just that the Divine Dragon left the pool, giving them a chance to attack!"

Although Leon Zane didn't like Grace Lawrence much, he didn't want His Highness the Crown Prince to worry about her while recovering.

"Wasn’t that opportunity given by Miss Lawrence?" Sophie Shang retorted.

Grace Lawrence’s eyes filled with guilt, but she kept silent.

Sophie Shang snorted coldly and reached for the Antler Serpent again.

But halfway there, her hand suddenly stopped.

The Antler Serpent moved its head and looked at Grace Lawrence.

Grace Lawrence hurried over to it. "Cutie Pie, are you looking for me?"

Cutie Pie nodded.

"You're badly hurt. The medicine I have is only for humans. Go with the Divine Dragon! The dragon is of the Divine Race—I'm sure it can heal you," Grace Lawrence said.

As she spoke, Grace Lawrence gently stroked its head with her finger.

Suddenly, Cutie Pie opened its mouth and bit her finger.

Grace Lawrence didn't move.

It didn’t bite hard—just held her gently, its soft tongue brushing over her fingertip, tickling her.

"Go on," Grace Lawrence said. "I'll wait for you to come back."

Evan Xiao let her go and nodded.

Then Sophie Shang led him away.
