The Clash Between Quinn and the Pioneer Emperor

2/14/2026

The Jade Pool Grand Assembly was always bustling, packed with people coming and going. But when Quinn Shepherd sent Flame-Venerable flying, an uproar erupted—everyone began talking at once, and the crowd swelled even larger.

Sending Flame-Venerable flying—sure, a semi-god might manage it, but no mere divine-art user could possibly do that.

Flame-Venerable was one of the pioneers who founded the Divine Treasury cultivation system. The Heaven-Man Treasury itself was his creation, and he received blessings from the ancient gods. His power was immense—among his peers, only the other six Heavenly Venerables could match him.

And among the Seven Heavenly Venerables, Flame-Venerable was far from the weakest.

Flame-Venerable commanded the power of fire, his mastery of fire-path divine arts unmatched. Yet Quinn had sent him flying with ease—how could that not cause a stir?

"Equal to a god?"

Quinn paid no mind to the crowd surging around him. Tilting his head, he wondered: How did people even define a god?

If achieving immortality made one a god, then those who mastered Creation Divine Art surely qualified.

Creation Divine Art could make the flesh immortal, keeping the body and its organs perpetually young. In terms of lifespan, such cultivators already stood shoulder to shoulder with the ancient gods.

As for the methods pioneered by Heaven-Guide Venerable, those would later become the Heaven Palace cultivation system, which also granted physical immortality.

The two systems were fundamentally different. The Heaven Palace cultivation system had clear realm divisions—each stage climbed step by step, all the way to the Emperor's Throne.

Creation Divine Art, on the other hand, was less clearly defined. It relied more on divine arts to reshape the body, keeping oneself perpetually young.

But Creation Divine Art was much harder to master—and as a divine art, it couldn't be spread and adopted by the masses the way the Heaven Palace system could.

"Creation Divine Art has too many limitations."

Quinn weighed it all and told Venerable Skysoar, "Sister Ling, while Creation Divine Art can make one a god, it can't compare to the methods pioneered by Heaven-Guide Venerable. It's not that the power is inferior—it's just too hard to learn."

Venerable Skysoar laughed, "Those are just mediocrities—we seek the Dao, so why care what they think? Your Creation Divine Art really can help me perfect my own divine arts. We absolutely have to study it together!"

She grabbed Quinn by one hand and began squeezing out of the crowd. Just then—boom!—a thunderous crash rang out as Flame-Venerable flew in, wreathed in roaring fire, scorching the air around him. He shouted, "I was careless, that's why you sent me flying! Brat, let's go again!"

Quinn's hand was still caught by Venerable Skysoar, but his other five hands flashed as he met Flame-Venerable's attack head-on. Another thunderous boom—Flame-Venerable was sent flying again.

The Pioneer Emperor was furious, lowering his voice to hiss, "I told you not to fight! How much bigger a scene do you plan to make?"

Quinn was annoyed too. "He attacked me—if I didn't respond, I'd get hurt! If it were you, would you just stand there and take the hit?"

Flame-Venerable charged in, but behind Quinn, a twelve-zhang Primordial Spirit surged forth—three heads, six arms—driving Flame-Venerable back.

A twelve-zhang Primordial Spirit rose behind the Pioneer Emperor too, blocking Quinn's attack. Unable to hold back his anger, he laughed, "I've always known you can't stand me—always sniping at me, openly and behind my back. Fine, let's settle this!"

Quinn's anger at the Pioneer Emperor finally burst free, his aura exploding as a storm of blood-energy erupted in the sky, swirling with fury!

His twelve-zhang, three-headed, six-armed Primordial Spirit stood tall in the blood-energy maelstrom. All three faces roared with thunderous fury: "Let's fight then! You think I'm scared of you? Bring it on—!"

All around, countless ancient divine-art users stared in shock, heads craned to watch the spectacle in the sky, unable to snap out of it.

So strong—unbelievably strong.

No one in this era had ever seen a divine-art user this powerful!

Flame-Venerable attacked again, but when he saw Quinn's Primordial Spirit looming in the blood-energy torrent—half god, half demon—he paled. "Impossible. There's no way a divine-art user could be this strong..."

The Pioneer Emperor, unable to contain his fury, let his own aura erupt. He snapped, "You're just reckless! I can't let you run wild!"

Boom—

His blood-energy soared across the sky as his Primordial Spirit leapt, standing atop the torrent—revealing the full, dominant might of a ruler who shaped an era!

Quinn and the Pioneer Emperor's Primordial Spirits and blood-energy clashed, their auras surging—dominating the Jade Pool Grand Assembly and leaving every divine-art user present utterly stunned, transfixed by the spectacle above!

Heaven-Guide Venerable and several other Heavenly Venerables were discussing matters in the Jade Pool Golden Hall, but even they were startled, stepping out to stare, eyes wide.

Such powerful Primordial Spirits, such overwhelming blood-energy—it was both magnificent and brutal to behold!

Venerable Skysoar was staring upward too, shocked, whispering, "How are they this strong... how did they train...?"

Behind her, Old Ox's voice sounded, full of worry as he stomped his hoof. "What now, what now! Those two—both stubborn as oxen... no, worse, they're stubborn as donkeys! Oxen are gentle! If they start fighting, it'll be a disaster..."

Venerable Skysoar was puzzled. "You came together—aren't you friends?"

Sam Oxley sighed, shaking his head. "They both want to be friends, but they're too proud—neither will lower themselves, not even a little..."

The sky shook as Quinn's and the Pioneer Emperor's Primordial Spirits suddenly unleashed their divine arts. In an instant, a hurricane swept through the heavens, blowing clouds away with a violent ripple of space—the sky was left utterly clear!

For the first time, the sky was a dazzling blue.

The next moment, countless thunderbolts crisscrossed the sky, lightning raining down!

"Your divine art isn't bad."

Below, the Pioneer Emperor suddenly surged forward, charging Quinn with a cold sneer. "But your understanding of divine arts is still far from complete!"

His hands flashed, divine arts restrained and hidden in one palm, swirling around him with every movement of his sleeve—countless tiny divine arts spinning endlessly.

He was the founder of an era. Though still a youth, his talent and ambition were on full display—the most magnificent and captivating divine arts of the Pioneer Era were his creations, supporting an entire age!

He was the original creator of the Overlord Three-Core Art that Quinn practiced. The myriad divine arts in the Great Nurture Demon Scripture were all organized by the Woodcutter from the Pioneer Emperor's techniques.

Quinn had learned the method for condensing divine-art power from his father Qin Hanzhen's treasure-ship corridor—a method that originated with the Pioneer Emperor.

The explosive force of a divine art could destroy everything within a dozen miles, yet be concentrated in a tiny space—such power, unleashed, was utterly devastating to any foe!

Quinn let out a long howl. Others had seven Divine Treasuries, but he possessed fourteen—split into two categories: god and demon. Except for Life-and-Death and Divine Bridge Treasuries, all the rest were open—a total of ten Divine Treasuries.

And those ten Divine Treasuries had already been refined into a single whole.

His vital energy poured like a waterfall, surging through this magnificent treasury—pillars and torrents of qi, hundreds and thousands, thundering through the heavens and earth within.

Because his Divine Treasuries were unified, his vital energy flowed faster and fiercer than the Pioneer Emperor's—more explosive, more powerful!

Though he was inferior to the Pioneer Emperor in divine arts, he wasn't afraid of a direct clash!

The two collided with a thunderous crash—the power of their divine arts exploding in an instant. The white jade floor beneath them floated upward, stone by stone, in concentric rings centered on the two of them. Even distant divine-art users were flung away as the floor bucked beneath their feet!

Bang bang bang—countless impacts burst out like a string of thunder, and in a flash, the two figures were sent flying, crashing into the walls of two great halls like comets striking earth—a hundred li apart.

Meanwhile, in the sky, their towering Primordial Spirits moved with lightning speed, hurling divine arts at each other, streaking across the heavens in dazzling flashes.

Light and shadow interwove in the sky, unleashing all manner of wonders—dragons surging, phoenixes soaring, thousands of flying swords, blades splitting the heavens, mountain-like fist marks, mighty rivers, spinning bells...

With every wonder came strange sounds—the Dao resonances unleashed by their divine arts!

The roofs of the two great halls exploded with a crash. Quinn and the Pioneer Emperor each soared into the sky, landing atop the halls, a hundred li apart, staring at each other from afar.
