Equal to the Gods

Everyone laughed, shaking their heads as they dispersed. Venerable Skysoar's teachings were too profound, too abstruse—none of them could understand.

They had originally gathered around Venerable Skysoar to hear the insights and realizations she’d gained over the years, hoping to learn her divine arts and Dao techniques.

But now, what Venerable Skysoar was speaking of was so arcane and unfathomable that they simply couldn’t comprehend—it was clear she’d lost her mind. Listening to a madwoman ramble would defeat the whole purpose of attending the Jade Pool Grand Assembly, wouldn’t it?

Soon, the space around Venerable Skysoar was empty—only Quinn Shepherd, the Pioneer Emperor, and Old Ox remained.

The Pioneer Emperor lowered his voice and said, "Yong River."

Quinn Shepherd felt a chill in his heart and nodded, still full of puzzlement.

The Yong River—its waters always rushing eastward, day and night, never ceasing. Perhaps this great river was the Celestial River of today. Judging by the flow, the Yong River didn’t match Venerable Skysoar’s description of a divine art that eternally freezes matter.

Unless—the water of the Yong River, though seemingly flowing, was actually made up of particles held in a frozen state. The movement was just a surface illusion; in truth, this river stretched from the past to the future.

The river itself was always still; what moved was the matter surrounding it.

Yet such a divine art was almost beyond belief—the principles involved were already beyond Quinn Shepherd’s understanding.
