"You wouldn't understand if I explained it all now, but one day you'll know. That's why I hope you can persevere to the end—you're the hope of the future," said the chieftain.
"Hope of the future?" Evan Yang felt as if he'd suddenly become some towering figure.
"Yes, but your cultivation is still quite low right now. Take it slow; a few million years should be enough to reach the top, as long as you don't die prematurely," the chieftain said.
Evan Yang felt the chieftain's words were so distant and ethereal, completely unrelated to him.
"Thank you, senior." No matter what, Evan Yang replied politely.
The chieftain nodded, then continued, "Is there anything you need my help with? If I know, I'll tell you."
"Senior, what exactly is this Divine Seed? Where did it come from?" Evan Yang asked curiously.
"This thing has existed since ancient times, and it directly lodges itself in a person. Once that person dies and their soul disperses, it returns to its primordial state. People call it the Heaven-Cold Seed—it's a miraculous thing. Others have obtained it before, but now it's in your hands, which surprises me," the chieftain said with a smile.
Evan Yang thought about how the Heaven-Cold Seed was given to him by the man in the ice block. He wondered what that man's true identity was, so he asked, "Who obtained it before?"
"Who? He was an incredible figure in the Immortal Realm, truly at the pinnacle. But the Heaven-Cold Seed is a Divine Seed, so other top Immortal Realm experts coveted it, which led to him being hunted. By the time I tried to save him, he'd already vanished, whereabouts unknown. Seeing the Heaven-Cold Seed here, I assume he must have died. It's a pity—a peak Immortal Realm powerhouse lost," the chieftain sighed.
Evan Yang was stunned for a moment, but said, "Senior, actually the Heaven-Cold Seed was given to me by someone else. That person isn't dead, but I'm not sure if he's the one you're talking about."
"Oh? Show me his portrait," the chieftain asked curiously.
Evan Yang showed the chieftain the portrait of the man from the ice block. The chieftain was shocked, "It really is him—Sovereign Frost!"
"Sovereign Frost?" Evan Yang asked in surprise.
"Yes, that's his peak Immortal Realm title—Sovereign Frost. He specializes in water attributes. That ice block is his masterpiece, able to preserve his body. I bet he was seriously injured and is recuperating. No wonder—I thought he'd died," the chieftain explained.
"Sovereign Frost?" Evan Yang thought the title sounded pretty cool.
"That's the pinnacle title in the Immortal Realm. In the Immortal Realm, Emperors are like ants to Immortal Sovereigns—they're not even on the same level. So back then, several Immortal Sovereigns fought over the Heaven-Cold Seed and ended up gravely injuring him, after which he disappeared," the chieftain said.
Evan Yang hadn't expected this man to be so influential—even Emperors were ants. That level of power was terrifying.
Seeing Evan Yang stunned, the chieftain laughed, "Looks like he decided to pass the Heaven-Cold Seed to you instead of using it himself."
Evan Yang was speechless. A Sovereign Frost fought other Immortal Sovereigns for the Heaven-Cold Seed, but ended up giving it to him. At that moment, Evan felt a warmth in his heart. The man was so noble, and they'd barely even known each other.
"So that's how it is... Sovereign Frost! I wonder which Immortal Sovereigns injured him?" Evan Yang suddenly felt that he should do something in the future once he became strong enough.
"What, you want to avenge him?" The chieftain chuckled.
"Sovereign Frost, senior... I just learned his title, but my life is thanks to him. Without his selfless gift, I wouldn't be who I am today," Evan Yang said.
"Good, it's right to repay kindness. I can tell you, but don't go asking around or looking for trouble yet. If they find out you're connected to Sovereign Frost or that you used the Heaven-Cold Seed, you should know what could happen," the chieftain warned.
Evan Yang understood the consequences. Sovereign Frost had told him to keep a low profile in the Immortal Realm, and now, knowing the disaster the Heaven-Cold Seed brought to Sovereign Frost, Evan reminded himself again not to stand out too much. He replied decisively, "Thank you, senior."
"The first is Sovereign Blaze, who specializes in fire. The second is Sovereign Terra, who specializes in earth. The third is similar to Sovereign Frost, also specializing in water—he's called Sovereign Ruthless," the chieftain said.
Evan Yang memorized the three titles deeply and said, "I've noted these three. But I'll be careful."
"Good. I don't want you to fall before you reach the Immortal Sovereign realm and let the Heaven-Cold Seed reincarnate again," the chieftain said.
Evan Yang gave an awkward smile. "Immortal Sovereign? Just how strong is that compared to Emperors? Seems like a huge gap."
"You'll understand someday. For now, keep a low profile—especially since you carry something like this. Some Immortal Sovereigns can easily sense anomalies," the chieftain said.
"I understand. Thank you, senior," Evan Yang replied.
"And your blood is also very special," the chieftain suddenly said.
Evan Yang was stunned for a moment, but then realized that if even Sovereign Frost and this chieftain could see through him, it was only natural. So he nodded, "Yeah."
"I see. He must have noticed your blood and that's why he gave you the Heaven-Cold Seed," the chieftain said with a smile.
"Pretty much. Without it, I'd still be a clueless kid, probably already reincarnated by now," Evan Yang thought. If not for the Heaven-Cold Seed, he wouldn't have been able to cultivate, would have lived an ordinary life, and never found his parents.
"So you need to keep your bloodline a secret too. Your blood is extremely rare these days," the chieftain said.
"I understand," Evan Yang nodded.
"Any other questions?" the chieftain asked again.
Evan Yang thought for a moment. The chieftain was so powerful and probably knew a lot about the Immortal Realm. After some thought, he asked, "Senior, do you know about Blaze Mountain Territory?"
"Blaze Mountain Territory? Why are you asking about that?" the chieftain asked suspiciously.
"I'm looking for someone, and that person is at Blaze Mountain Territory. But I don't know where it is," Evan Yang sighed.
"I see. But Blaze Mountain Territory is extremely far away. Even at my speed, it would take several months to get there," the chieftain said.
Evan Yang was delighted to hear the chieftain knew. "Senior, could you tell me exactly where it is?"
"You? At your speed, it would probably take tens of thousands of years. Are you sure?" the chieftain asked.
Evan Yang was stunned. Tens of thousands of years was such a long time—by the time he got there, his father might be long gone. Still, hope was hope, and even if he couldn't go now, he'd go once he was strong enough.
So Evan Yang gritted his teeth and said, "No matter how many years it takes, I'll go."
"Good ambition. I'll give you a rough map. How you get there is up to you," the chieftain said, then gave Evan the route.
Evan Yang memorized the map. Looking at the marked points, he realized the destination really was unimaginably far away, but he kept the map anyway.
After that, the chieftain looked at Evan Yang and smiled. "Since you have the Heaven-Cold Seed, you should be able to learn the Wind God's techniques pretty easily."
"Wind God?" Evan Yang still didn't really understand gods, but since the chieftain brought it up, he listened. "Yes, the Wind God, so naturally wind-attribute. Do you know why we're so fast? It's the power of wind—swift as the wind, and capable of unleashing violent gales that can shatter mountains," the chieftain explained.
Evan Yang found this interesting. The blizzards in the Snowveil System had terrifying winds too.
"Senior, can I comprehend wind attribute?" Evan Yang knew everyone had their own attributes, and you couldn't just pick one. "If wind isn't your innate attribute, it shouldn't be possible. But with the Heaven-Cold Seed, it shouldn't be a problem," the chieftain said.
"Oh? Please explain, chieftain," Evan Yang said.
"I've heard that Divine Seeds have the ability to dissolve and assimilate attributes. Even if you don't naturally possess an attribute, as long as you absorb enough of it, you'll eventually form your own—like wind. If you absorb enough wind attribute, over time, you'll develop your own wind attribute," the chieftain explained.
Evan Yang was stunned. No wonder he could coexist with so many attributes in his body—it was all thanks to the Heaven-Cold Seed.
"But that's just a legend. We'll have to test it to see," the chieftain said.
"Oh? How do we test it?" Evan Yang asked curiously.
The chieftain extended a finger, and a small ball of wind-attribute energy began spinning in front of Evan Yang. Though not very strong, it still carried a tangible power.
"This is a bit of wind attribute. Open your hand and release your Immortal Essence, then slowly guide it into your body and into your attribute domain—your divine sense domain," the chieftain instructed.
Evan Yang followed the chieftain's instructions. At first, the wind energy resisted fiercely, almost lethally, but once Evan Yang enveloped it with his Immortal Essence, it was absorbed into his body and slowly entered his domain.
A tiny ball of wind appeared in his domain, dwarfed by the other attributes—like a drop of water in a vast sea. Evan Yang was thrilled with the result.
Seeing Evan Yang's expression, the chieftain asked, "How is it?"
"It's great—it really works!" Evan Yang was overjoyed.
"Good, that's settled. If you could absorb too much of others' attributes, I'd let you take as much as you want," the chieftain said.
"Oh? Why can't I absorb others' attributes?" Evan Yang asked, puzzled.
"If you could absorb others' attributes, that'd be overpowered. Anyone's attribute could just enter your body, and you'd be invincible," the chieftain laughed.
