Absorbing Primordial Wind Qi

2/14/2026

Evan Yang thought it over and felt it made sense. If attributes could be absorbed at will, it really would be monstrous. He thanked the chieftain, "Thank you for the reminder, senior."

"But in this world, there are many kinds of pure natural attribute power—ones not released by humans," the chieftain said.

"Non-human? Pure natural? What are those like?" Evan asked, puzzled.

"As it happens, I know where some are. Come, I'll take you." The chieftain smiled, then grabbed Evan's hand. Though his hand looked weathered and old, it was surprisingly strong.

Evan felt as if the world flashed by like a slideshow—the speed was incredible. In just a few breaths, they arrived at a forest. The chieftain pointed to a cave ahead and said, "There are clusters of wind attribute power inside. Go absorb them; I'll wait here."

The chieftain wouldn't trick him, right? Evan thought for a moment, then walked in. The cave wasn't very deep, but it had a unique feature: wide at the entrance, narrow inside, getting smaller and smaller. He could also sense the energy within.

"Interesting," Evan remarked, feeling the wind power—it was as if wind was blowing toward him from inside.

Once inside, Evan saw several clusters of attribute power similar to what the chieftain had shown him before.

"Are these wind attribute power?" Evan wondered aloud, a hint of surprise and doubt in his voice. At the same time, something else came to mind.

"Maybe that one too? I'll try it later." Evan thought happily to himself. He reached out and absorbed them all, but these naturally formed clusters were still rare, and didn't add much to his attribute domain.

Evan didn't get discouraged. Instead, he took out a clump of something from his tower—the very thing he found after getting swept into the blizzard in the Snowveil Star System.

It felt similar to the wind clusters here, but this one was far more powerful.

Eagerly, Evan unsealed it and released his Immortal Essence. Sure enough, the wind power surged like an ocean pouring into a creek, almost overwhelming him.

He felt as if his whole body was about to explode. If not for the Heaven-Cold Seed stabilizing him, Evan would have been blown apart by this terrifying force.

As time passed, Evan sensed the wind attribute in his spiritual domain slowly growing stronger.

The surge was fierce—several times Evan nearly died, but the Heaven-Cold Seed kept him going.

After three days, Evan was utterly exhausted, but his whole body felt comfortable, as if something had finally filled up. Looking closely, he found that his wind attribute had grown as strong as his fire attribute.

Delighted by this, Evan muttered, "So I can use wind attribute now? My speed will increase?"

He tried it out—having never used wind power before, he accidentally crashed into the cave wall. At least he knew his speed had multiplied several times under the wind attribute's effect.

"Ouch." Evan rubbed his forehead, frustrated for not calculating properly.

By now, Evan felt that if he kept growing stronger, his speed might keep increasing—maybe he'd really be able to tour the whole planet in a few days, just like Lila Greenleaf said.

Outside, the chieftain had waited a long time, puzzled at how long Evan had been inside. Several times he wanted to go in, but worried he might interrupt Evan's cultivation—after all, everyone has moments of sudden enlightenment, and disturbing them makes it much harder to achieve.

When he saw Evan's red forehead, the chieftain asked curiously, "What happened to you?"

"Nothing, just bumped my head," Evan replied, frustrated.

"Bumped your head?" The chieftain was confused—what kind of cultivator bumps their head?

"Senior, I absorbed something and wanted to test it. The result was, I moved too fast and crashed," Evan said awkwardly.

"What you absorbed is that strong? Let me see your wind attribute," the chieftain said, curious.

Evan demonstrated his wind attribute. He floated lightly, and if he wanted, his speed could skyrocket. In fact, his speed now rivaled Hannah Nangong's hidden level.

"Try an attack," the chieftain said, both surprised and curious at Evan's display.

Evan waved his hand, and a gust of wind attribute power appeared, chopping down a whole row of trees. Even Evan hadn't expected the wind to be so lethal.

"What exactly did you absorb? How is your wind power suddenly so strong?" the chieftain asked, curious.

Evan explained how he obtained that clump of wind power.

After hearing the whole story, the chieftain was stunned. "Kid, your luck is incredible—you actually got Primordial Wind Qi."

"Primordial Wind Qi? What's that?" Evan asked, confused.

"Primordial Wind Qi is a type of wind attribute power that forms naturally over countless years. It's incredibly strong and possesses spirituality—unlike ordinary wind power, which is lifeless," explained the chieftain.

"Spirituality? That's true," Evan recalled how it used to actively attack people and was very clever.

"It will also grow stronger as your own power increases," the chieftain congratulated him.

"Guess I really am lucky," Evan said with an awkward smile.

"Lucky? That's an understatement—this is amazing. With it, you'll become powerful one day, and your speed will far surpass mine," the chieftain said with a smile.

Evan was thrilled by the chieftain's words and thanked him, "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have known how to use it this way."

"That's really wonderful," Evan said gratefully.

"Come on, I'll take you back. Quite a few of your guests have arrived," the chieftain said with a smile.

"Guests?" Evan wasn't sure what he meant by that.

The chieftain brought Evan back to the tribe. Using his spiritual sense, Evan finally understood—in the distance outside, a group of people were being bombarded by a storm of arrows.

Those people shouted, trying to get the attackers to stop, but the language barrier made it impossible. Seeing them, Evan smiled, "So it's them. I didn't expect they'd come after me."

This line is irrelevant and can be skipped.

"Go on, I trust you'll handle this well. Once you're done, I'll take you somewhere else," the chieftain said with a smile. He seemed to give a command, and the attackers withdrew.

Evan moved at high speed and appeared before them.

When they saw Evan, they cursed, "Evan Yang, you despicable bastard! How dare you join forces with outsiders to attack us!"

"Ray Qing, right? And these are from the Wood Family? You sure are determined, chasing me all the way out here. You're strong, too—only took a few days to find me," Evan said with a smile, inwardly curious how they tracked him down.

"Kid, you must be Evan Yang! How dare you team up with others against us—today, you'll pay with your life," Skyler Shi said angrily. He'd traveled for months to track Evan, only to be attacked here, making him furious.

"You're injured? Can you still handle me?" Evan smiled.

"Even at sixty percent strength, I can deal with you. Watch this!" Skyler Shi said, flashing in front of Evan. Before, Evan wouldn't have dodged in time, but now, with wind attribute, he moved effortlessly—vanishing and reappearing elsewhere at incredible speed.

The others were stunned by what they saw.

Skyler Shi couldn't believe it. "You're only a First Stage Celestial, so how are you this fast?"

"Want to know? I'm not telling you," Evan replied with a smile.

"Damn it, you—! I don't believe it!" Skyler Shi refused to accept it, thinking that even injured, he was as strong as a Profound Celestial and should be able to defeat Evan.

But now, with wind attribute, Evan could rival Hannah Nangong's speed, so Skyler Shi couldn't keep up.

Skyler Shi kept missing, which made him anxious. Evan just smiled, "Today, I'll show you something new."

Evan knew he couldn't let others discover the secret of his speed. If word got out, chaos would follow, and he'd be targeted by top experts—especially those Immortal Sovereigns, whom Evan feared most. Right now, he didn't have the strength; in front of them, he was less than an ant.

"Show you something new?" The others didn't understand what Evan meant.

Evan looked around—there were only a dozen or so people, most of them injured. He decided to finish them off.

With a wave of his hand, a fierce wind slashed out like blades. It wasn't as devastating as the one from the blizzard, but it was still strong enough to rival a Profound Celestial's attack.

The air screeched as it tore through space. The weaker ones didn't even have time to react before they were shredded.

Skyler Shi and Ray Qing barely managed to block it. When they saw the others dead, they were stunned—just the two of them remained.

"You!" Skyler Shi cried in terror. Ray Qing was also terrified—when had Evan become so deadly?

Evan smiled, "You insisted on chasing me, so today, you'll die here." With that, he struck again.

Even if they could hold out for a moment, they couldn't last long. In the end, both were torn apart, their souls destroyed as well.

Looking at the corpses, Evan sighed, "If this were before, I might have hesitated. But now, I have to protect myself. If those terrifying Immortal Sovereigns discover the Heaven-Cold Seed on me, it would bring trouble to me and everyone I care about."

Evan was so ruthless today because he knew how envious the Immortal Sovereigns were of the Heaven-Cold Seed. He had to be cautious—if he didn't deal with this now, his secret might be exposed.

If anyone became suspicious later, Evan could just blame all these deaths on the planet itself—after all, even powerful cultivators avoided this place.

Evan also finally understood why experts didn't dare come here. With such a powerful chieftain guarding the ancient tree, getting close to it would be nearly impossible.

Looking at the bloody scene, Evan felt helpless. Yet, strangely, the area quickly turned lush and green again.

This phenomenon made Evan very curious—what was the reason behind it?

Just then, the chieftain appeared from behind.
