Power Over Life and Death

The Alliance Leader smiled and said, "This time, the eight of you will go, and someone will be there to receive you."

"So how do we get there?" Evan Yang asked curiously. "If the Devil Realm can send envoys here, we can naturally send people over as well. But there's a limit—no more than ten at a time. Eight is just right, so you can all go at once." The Alliance Leader smiled.

"I see," Evan Yang replied.

Once Evan Yang understood, the Alliance Leader took him around the Immortal Realm Alliance. The Alliance members were all curious why the Leader was walking with someone with only Immortal Lord strength—it was highly unusual.

Over the next few days, Evan Yang learned the basic structure of the Immortal Realm Alliance. The Alliance was vast, with specialized intelligence bureaus—some from the Devil Realm, some from the Immortal Realm, and so on. He also saw Elder Lu and others.

When Elder Lu saw Evan Yang together with the Alliance Leader, he already guessed Evan had decided to go to the Devil Realm.

As the time approached, the Alliance Leader brought Evan Yang to a cave. As soon as they entered, a wave of freezing cold hit—it was the coldest place Evan had ever seen.

"What is this place?" Evan Yang asked curiously.

The Alliance Leader expected Evan Yang to shiver, but was surprised to see him unaffected. "You're not cold?" he asked, astonished.

"Cold," Evan Yang replied.

"Looks like you're really different from others. Even in a place like this, you don't shiver at all," said the Alliance Leader.

"I'm fire-attribute. My body can naturally wrap itself in flame, so I don't feel it," Evan Yang explained.

"Maybe so. As for this place, it's where a treasure surpassing Immortal artifacts is sealed," said the Alliance Leader.

"A treasure surpassing Immortal artifacts?" Evan Yang exclaimed, astonished.

"That's right. Its power isn't huge, but it's extremely effective against Devil Realm cultivators, especially the Sky-Flooding Demon Sovereign. If you can drive it into the back of his head, you can halt his recovery," said the Alliance Leader.

Evan Yang was curious what it was. Before him appeared a formation, and inside floated a triangular long needle. It looked like it could pierce straight through a person—truly terrifying.

"Is this the treasure that surpasses Immortal artifacts?" Evan Yang stared at the small needle in shock.

"That's right. This was forged specifically to counter demonic qi. It took countless years to create just one," said the Alliance Leader.

"Is the Alliance Leader planning for us to take this with us?" Evan Yang asked, surprised and suspicious.

"Exactly. You'll carry it. Make sure to stab it into his body—once it's inside, he can never force it out. It'll stay with him forever. But it can't kill him; after all, he's a Demon Sovereign, already at the longevity stage, and even his soul is nearly impossible to destroy," said the Alliance Leader.

After seeing the artifact that surpassed Immortal artifacts, Yang Han asked, "If the mission is completed, will you give me the pill?" "Yes," the Alliance Leader nodded.

"Alright," Yang Han said. The Alliance Leader waved his hand, the formation dissipated, and the needle landed in Yang Han's hand. A wave of cold spread through him, as if it wanted to devour his soul.

"You'd better keep it in a space ring. Carrying it openly isn't convenient—everyone can sense its presence," said the Alliance Leader.

"Got it." Yang Han casually found a space ring and put it inside. The chilling aura instantly disappeared.

"Alright, let's go. The others should be here by now," the Alliance Leader smiled, then led Yang Han away.

They found that a grand hall of the Immortal Realm Alliance was already full of people—the seven from before, and the four patriarchs, were all present.

Yang Ming naturally knew Yang Han was here, but the others didn't. When they saw Yang Han enter with the Alliance Leader, they were visibly shocked.

Seeing everyone, the Alliance Leader smiled and said, "You're all here, so I'll skip the nonsense and get straight to arranging the next steps."

With the Alliance Leader present, no one dared act out—they could only listen, though their minds were on Yang Han.

Once everyone quieted down, the Alliance Leader started giving instructions. When he mentioned Yang Han as team leader, the others were very unhappy. The Alliance Leader had expected this, so he said, "This mission is extremely important. I hope you take it seriously. Everything must follow Yang Han's lead—he's the team leader. If anyone acts out, Yang Han can kill them on the spot, and I'll take responsibility."

Everyone was shocked—this meant Yang Han now had the power to kill anyone, no matter which family they belonged to. If Yang Han killed someone, the Alliance Leader would back him up. The timid ones gave up their prejudice against Yang Han, but those with ulterior motives understood one thing: you'd only be killed if you weren't strong enough. But if they could kill Yang Han first, he couldn't kill them.

Yang Han understood this too. Taking seven people with him was like carrying seven ticking time bombs—any one of them could turn on him. He already had a plan to deal with it.

Besides telling everyone not to oppose Yang Han, the Alliance Leader also instructed them to fully support him. Though some were unwilling and considered giving up, they knew that to join the Alliance's core team, they had to make every effort this time.

So they had no choice but to endure it. When the Alliance Leader finished speaking, he asked, "Everyone understand?"

"Understood," the seven replied.

Seeing everyone understood, the Alliance Leader stood and said, "Then let's set off. When you arrive, someone will meet you."

The Alliance Leader called several elders over. They took their positions, forming an array. The Alliance Leader produced a fist-sized stone, its energy so strong everyone could feel it. He placed the stone in the center, and a bright halo appeared among the elders—ten spots in total.

"Alright, the eight of you go in," said the Alliance Leader.

The seven entered one after another, and Yang Han followed. Among the seven, only Shui Jing was on bad terms with Yang Han; the others all had some resentment, which Yang Han could feel.

"Begin," said the Alliance Leader once all eight had entered. The array started to operate.

In a flash, everyone's vision brightened. They found themselves on a mountaintop—but instead of Immortal energy, the surroundings were shrouded in demonic qi.

"Is this the Devil Realm?" Shui Jing asked, surprised and suspicious.

The others were shocked, but Yang Han had been here before, so he wasn't particularly moved.

"You must follow me now. If anything happens, don't blame me," Yang Han said.

"Who do you think you are?" Yang Tian was the first to object. Ling Ziqiong and Feng Zhilin also looked displeased.

"I can kill anyone who disobeys orders," Yang Han said.

"Kid, you're way too arrogant. You think you can handle all of us by yourself?" Yang Tian shouted angrily.

Seeing things were about to get out of hand, Shui Jing quickly said, "The Alliance Leader instructed us not to fight among ourselves. What are you doing?"

"Miss Shui, this isn't your concern. It's between us and him. If he has a problem with us, fine—everyone goes their own way!" Yang Tian snorted coldly.

"Go your own way? Not a bad idea. If you stay near me, you'll only get in my way," Yang Han said. "You!" Yang Tian and the others' faces changed dramatically.

Yang Han took the opportunity to drive the others away, saving himself the trouble. "What? You're still not leaving?"

"We're waiting for the person who's supposed to meet us," Yang Tian snorted coldly.

"So that's it. I almost forgot—you really think you're tough enough to wander the Devil Realm?" Yang Han laughed.

"Kid! You—" Yang Tian finally couldn't hold back and was about to attack. Feng Zhilin and Ling Ziqiong exchanged glances, and Feng Zhilin said, "Everyone can see it—since our leader doesn't want us around, maybe we should just take him out first."

Feng Zhilin's meaning was clear: they intended to kill Yang Han first.

Yang Han looked at Feng Zhilin and sneered, "You've got guts. Aren't you afraid the Alliance Leader will find out?"

"Alliance Leader? He's in the Immortal Realm—he doesn't have the power to know what's happening here," Feng Zhilin sneered.

Ling Ziqiong chimed in, "That's right. Let's get rid of him—none of us want him around, do we?"

Ling Ziqiong was right—many didn't want Yang Han around. He was too dangerous, and only by joining forces could they defeat him.

"Looks like you're really pushing your luck," Yang Han said to Yang Tian, Feng Zhilin, and Ling Ziqiong. The others quickly took their side, except Shui Jing, who stayed with Yang Han and asked, "What are you all doing?"

"Miss Shui, you'd better come with us. Otherwise, once we're done with him, you're next," Yang Tian warned. He knew this couldn't get out—they had to deal with Yang Han and couldn't let anyone else know.

"You!" Shui Jing was furious—she hadn't thought they'd really go this far.

Yang Han looked at Shui Jing and smiled, "You're not going over?"

"You're crazy. As annoying as you are, I don't want you dead," Shui Jing glared.

Yang Han chuckled. "Thanks, but you made the right choice."

After Yang Han said this, he released his aura. The others were puzzled—did he really plan to take them all on alone?

But they didn't want Yang Han to escape or get a chance to attack, so the six quickly combined their strength to attack Yang Han and Shui Jing.

Yang Han said to Shui Jing, "Trust me—just stay still."

Shui Jing didn't know what Yang Han meant, but since he said so, she didn't move. In a blink, she found herself in another space and heard Yang Han's voice: "Stay here for now—I'll teach these self-important guys a lesson."

The six outside saw Shui Jing suddenly vanish and looked suspicious.

"Where did Miss Shui go?" Yang Tian demanded, glaring.

"Why should I tell you? You should worry about your own safety," Yang Han smiled. As he spoke, his aura suddenly changed, now mixed with demonic qi.
