Chapter 922: Melee Mayhem

But what really gets under your skin is how those alchemical golems move—like the most disciplined human soldiers you’ve ever seen. That’s what’s truly unnerving...

And those fifty legion mages I used to scoff at? Turns out, they’re way tougher than I ever gave them credit for...

It wasn’t just Difo—even the other mages at Sunset Fortress, Joey and Heron included, were left gaping like fools...

A whole army of golems stomping out—their footsteps pounding in perfect unison. It’s like someone’s drumming right on your chest. The shock of it hits you hard.

Eight hundred Level-30 humanoid combat golems. Yeah, you heard that right.

Eighty Level-35 spellcasting golems. Like a walking nightmare for any enemy mage.

Then there’s the fifty-mage legion, moving like a single mind, the Level-39 Frost Dragon, the Level-39 Patchwork Golem... and creatures so strong, even the Seventh-Rank Orc Sword Saints wouldn’t stand a chance.

And then, the most terrifying of all—Leon Merlin himself...

Heron and Joey? They just stood there, mouths hanging open.

Is this the power controlled by Leon Merlin?

Everyone inside Sunset Fortress was stunned by this sudden surge of terrifying power. Meanwhile, outside the fortress, the battle had already begun.

The gates of Sunset Fortress stood wide open. The surrounding Blazeforge Orcs would never let such an opportunity slip by—a thousand Wolf Riders mounted on their Direwolves, brandishing curved blades, charged straight for the fortress.

But before they could reach the gates, countless streaks of light burst forth from within Sunset Fortress.

A swarm of identical Alchemical Golems surged to the front—six hundred humanoid close-combat Alchemical Golems swung their arms, and in an instant, their hands morphed into twin blades nearly two meters long, each inscribed with dense arrays of enhancement runes.

Six hundred Alchemical Golems formed a torrent of blades, colliding head-on with the charging Wolf Riders.

The Alchemical Golems moved in perfect sync, their blades interlocking into what looked like a massive meat grinder stretching for hundreds of meters.

One Alchemical Golem's blade would block a Wolf Rider's attack, and at the same moment, at least two more blades would slip through the gap, shredding both the Wolf Rider and his Direwolf mount.

From a distance, it looked like a terrifying river of blades flashing with cold light, surging into the Wolf Rider ranks with almost no resistance.

As the torrent of blades forced its way in, it immediately unleashed a storm of blood and carnage among the Wolf Riders. From afar, it was as if a river of blood was sweeping through, splashing crimson everywhere as soon as it hit an obstacle...
