Chapter 921 Reinforcements

In the end, it was Joey who finally spoke up.

"Archmage Leon, we've known each other for quite some time now. I know you're not one to boast, especially in a situation this dire. But I still have to ask—are we really going to see a large force arrive?"

Heron wore the same expression, clearly hesitant.

With their experience, neither of them could miss it—the fluctuations from the Teleportation Gate weren't particularly strong. It didn't look like a large force was coming through, more like a dozen low-ranked Title Archmages, or maybe a single Ninth-Rank Title Archmage. Those would generate similar magical waves.

Leon glanced at the Teleportation Gate, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

The magical fluctuations from the Teleportation Gate were steady, with no sign of chaos. That could only mean one thing—this delayed mass teleportation had gone off without a hitch. His legion would be arriving any moment now.

"Lord Joey, Lord Heron, get ready. They're about to come through."

Joey and Heron exchanged a glance. Seeing Leon's absolute confidence, they couldn't help but feel a sliver of hope themselves.

When he first received the news, Leon had frowned. But now, staring at the Teleportation Gate, there wasn't a trace of worry on his face—as if the Blazeforge Orc army outside, tens of thousands strong, was nothing to be concerned about.

Given what they knew of Leon, he was never one for unfounded confidence—he only smiled like that when he was absolutely sure.

Joey nodded lightly, while Heron sent a few runes flying toward the gate of Sunset Fortress. With a single thought, Heron could open the gate.

Difo glared coldly at Leon, his eyes full of malice.

Archmage Merlin, I want to see what tricks you have up your sleeve. Fine, if you're so eager to die, I'll oblige you. Go face those Blazeforge Orcs yourself, you damned fool! If it weren't for you, we wouldn't be in this mess. If you survive, the Black Tower Sanctuary will demand an explanation from you.

And if you die, that's just as well—the Merlin Family will have to answer for you. Hmph, if we lose to the Odin Kingdom this time, you'll be the biggest culprit. Let’s see how your family explains itself to the entire Andalusia Kingdom!

This is your last chance. Don’t think you can fool us. Get out of Sunset Fortress now and atone for your sins against the Blazeforge Orcs!

Difo’s body radiated magical energy—he was prepared to force Leon out of Sunset Fortress. His words about attacking the Blazeforge Orcs were a death sentence; with tens of thousands of orcs outside, anyone below Sky Rank would be doomed, sure to be surrounded and killed.

Leon kept his eyes on the Teleportation Gate, completely ignoring Difo.

Suddenly, Leon called out in a low voice.

Open the gate!

This...

This...

There really is a legion—a powerful one. If this legion faced an equal number of mages of the same rank, it wouldn’t be a battle, it would be a slaughter!

Even Joey and Heron, veterans of countless battles, stared blankly at the figures emerging from the light.

It felt as if their own heartbeats were syncing with the cadence of those footsteps.

Slowly, the brilliance began to fade, and the glow of the Teleportation Gate gradually dimmed.

The entire plaza was suddenly filled with a dense army of alchemical golems!

Every one of them—humanoid alchemical golems!

Every alchemical golem was clad in gleaming armor, etched with countless runes and alchemical markings. Thousands of them stood in perfect phalanxes, like fully armed soldiers awaiting inspection by their king.

Eighty level-35 alchemical golems!

Eight hundred level-30 alchemical golems!

At the front of the formation stood Reina, her expression cold, clad in white battle robes. Three icy spheres orbited her, shedding frost, and a thin layer of ice spread from her feet.

A patched, ugly alchemical golem stood at the front, yet it was impossible to ignore its kingly presence among the others.

Towering at two and a half meters, Hubert carried a massive warhammer larger than himself, exuding the aura of a seventh-rank Sword Saint. The force of his presence left cracks spreading from his feet in the reinforced ground.

Also present were the Merlin Brothers and Anderson, who floated above the ground.

As the light faded, Leon stood at the front of the army. Sunset Fortress was silent, everyone holding their breath and staring in awe.

Leon nodded to the crowd, then turned to look outside Sunset Fortress and called out in a deep voice.

Advance!

With a single word, it was as if something had been ignited—all at once, a violent aura erupted from every alchemical golem. Waves of terrifying magical power twisted and tangled in the air, forming colorful ribbons above.

These magical currents converged, forming bolts of lightning that danced overhead like countless thunder serpents, rallying the army for its march.

Moments ago, the alchemical golems had stood motionless, but now every rune and magical marking on their bodies blazed with light.

Eight hundred level-30 golems and eighty level-35 golems, more disciplined than any elite army, instantly became streaks of light rushing out of Sunset Fortress.

Their terrifying aura whipped up a howling gale.

Reina let out a dragon’s roar and instantly transformed into a frost dragon over a hundred meters long, soaring outside Sunset Fortress.

Hubert hefted his warhammer, grinning fiercely as he shouted.

“Lord Hubert’s Slaughter has been hungry for too long…”

Then, with a stomp, he vanished from sight, leaving behind a crater four or five meters wide and cracks radiating outward from the impact.

Leon’s mage legion, led by Kurum raising his Dragon Scale Staff, was instantly surrounded by endless elemental flames.

Towering fire elementals, four to five meters tall, rose from the flames, their fiery wings unfurling as fifty battalion mages turned into a cloud of fire and flew out of Sunset Fortress.

Leon gripped his Dragon Staff, his body blurring as he vanished instantly.

Within three seconds, Leon’s entire force had vanished from Sunset Fortress.

Sunset Fortress was left in complete silence.

Difo stared blankly, mouth agape, at the alchemical golem army rushing out of Sunset Fortress.

Eighty level-35 alchemical golems…

Eight hundred level-30 alchemical golems…

All… all of them are humanoid combat alchemical golems…

Damn, is this really Archmage Merlin’s legion?

Difo’s mind was in turmoil, unable to think. The sight of nearly nine hundred alchemical golems was simply overwhelming—he’d never seen so many high-level golems together in his life.
