The Miserable Single Dog

Sean Hayes really knew how to hit a nerve, bringing up exactly what Simon Yu didn't want to hear—the pain of being single.

Simon Yu glared at Sean Hayes, firing back without missing a beat: "Ha! Sean, you sure look happy, getting scolded by your wife every other day like a grandson. She can't finish her food, so it all ends up in your bowl. You're basically the leftover cleaner. Wow, I envy you—psh, stop trying to make yourself look good!"

Sean Hayes hopped side to side, showing off: "I love it when my wife scolds me, that's called caring! What would a single guy like you know? And I love eating her leftovers—they're packed with love! You want to eat a girl's leftovers? Too bad, no girl wants to give you any!"

Simon Yu glared at Sean, grinding his teeth in frustration, then turned away with a haughty snort: "I've finished checking the pulse. I'm out!"

With that, Simon Yu spun on his heel and left.

But Sean Hayes wasn't done showing off. He bounced along behind Simon Yu, chattering away: "Hey, Simon, do you know what it's like to cuddle with your wife at night? Or how great it feels to have someone you love fuss over you? Tsk tsk, you wouldn't know—because you don't have a wife!"

Simon Yu was so mad he wanted to strangle Sean Hayes, but alas, Simon cared about his pride, while Sean clearly didn't.

When someone who cares about pride meets someone who doesn't, it's enough to drive you crazy.

Sean Hayes kept bickering with Simon Yu all the way back to the Yu residence, only stopping once they'd arrived.

Sean Hayes happily went home to hug his wife, leaving poor, miserable single Simon Yu alone in his study, staring at the empty room and starting to question his life: Maybe it's time I found myself a wife too?

Over at the Prince of Qin's Manor, Steward Yuan didn't let Belle lift a finger. After Su Li assigned an inner courtyard, he personally led the staff to tidy up, absolutely refusing to let Belle get involved.

Belle smiled and sweetly complained to Su Li: "Brother Yuan Yu is always like this, never letting me do anything. At home, he won't even let me cook a single dish. I told him, 'What kind of daughter-in-law doesn't cook for her in-laws?' But he just won't let me near the kitchen. Now he won't even let me clean the house—he treats me like a child."

Su Li watched Belle's contradictory expression and playfully poked her: "Belle, so? The match your Princess picked for you—isn't he great?"

Belle blushed but nodded boldly and honestly, "Being able to marry Brother Yuan Yu is the luck of several lifetimes for me."

Su Li smiled and took Belle's hand, saying, "Belle, you used to be in charge of the off-season vegetables. Now that the work has grown, if you can't handle it all, pass it to April. We already have capable managers trained in every region, so everything's running smoothly—managing it won't be hard."

Belle nodded, her smile gentle: "Don't worry, Su Li. If I can't handle it, I'll definitely pass it to April. I won't let the Princess down."

Su Li looked up at Belle, her expression suddenly serious: "There's one more thing. I need to purchase some mountain areas, deep in the mountains where few people go. This is top secret, and must be kept absolutely confidential—the location, the people working there, everything must be reliable and nothing can leak out."

Belle saw how serious Su Li was and nodded, then asked curiously, "Princess, if we're growing off-season vegetables, why do we need to buy mountain land? Mountain terrain isn't suitable for vegetables! And why does it have to be so secret?"

Su Li blinked mysteriously, a hint of pride in her voice. She pulled out a small packet from her sleeve and opened it, showing Belle some strange-looking seeds: "Who said I'm growing off-season vegetables? I'm buying mountain land to secretly plant these."
