The youth was completely immobilized by some unknown method Evan used. He could only glare at Evan and protest, "How am I supposed to know what you're planning?"
"Go on, tell me. Your identity in the Fiend Realm must be pretty impressive, huh? Even Sixth-Rank Generals have to listen to you." Evan smiled.
"You—" The youth stared at Evan in surprise, eyes wide after Evan saw through him.
"I'm actually very interested in you. Go on, speak." Evan smiled deeply, fixing his gaze on the youth.
"If I told you, you'd be scared to death. But you'd better let me go—if you do, I might spare you for not knowing any better." The youth suddenly put on airs.
Evan chuckled, "Oh, showing off again? What, are you some big shot in the Fiend Palace or something?"
"That's right. Except for First-Rank Generals, I can command anyone below Second-Rank in the Fiend Palace. What do you think?" the youth said proudly.
"Oh? That's pretty impressive. But no matter how impressive you are, you're still in my hands now—so what's the point of bragging?" Evan was stunned for a moment, then laughed.
Seeing that Evan wasn't the least bit afraid, the youth snorted coldly. "Let me go, now!"
"Aren't you supposed to be so powerful? Able to command Second-Rank Generals at will? Show me where they are, then!" Evan sneered.
"If my big brother didn't need help, I wouldn't have sent my Second-Rank General away." The youth glared angrily.
"So that's how it is. I was wondering where that old guy went—turns out he went to help you. Your big brother, huh?" Evan acted like he understood, then grew curious about this youth's brother.
"So you'd better let me go. If my big brother finds out, you'll be left without even a soul." The youth threatened.
"I've never been afraid of threats. Since you're such a big deal in the Fiend Realm, how about I take you home for a visit?" Evan laughed.
"You're going to the Fiend Realm?" The youth was shocked, especially since the route outside pointed straight toward that deserted planet.
That planet was the boundary between the Human World and the Fiend Realm.
"That's right." Evan smiled.
The youth burst out laughing. "Take me back to the Fiend Realm? Let's see if you can even get inside first!"
"Get inside? You mean those trash guards in there?" Evan sneered.
"Those are just small fry. Don't you know there's a guardian outside the Fiend Realm? With just you? I'd like to see how you plan to get me inside." The youth sneered, convinced the guardian wouldn't just watch him get dragged away.
"Thanks for reminding me. Well, you'll have to put up with it for now." Evan Yang smiled.
"What are you trying to do!" The youth was shocked.
"Just making you sleep for a while, of course." Evan Yang said, and then with a few moves, put the youth into a sleep state.
"Once you're asleep, you won't know anything." Evan Yang smiled, then tossed him into the Sky-Piercing Tower and told the street thug to keep an eye on him.
The street thug, also from the Fiend Realm, looked on gleefully. The fortune-teller, who could predict certain things, was shocked to see the youth thrown in as well. But he couldn't shout or move, and could only watch as the street thug sized up the new captive.
Evan Yang ignored them and simply piloted his flying vessel toward the deserted planet.
On Glazestar, Miles Fenn arrived with formation experts, only to find a crowd gathered around, watching as if observing a spirit beast struggling in a cage.
Vice-Captain Li and his team were delighted to see Miles Fenn arrive.
"Could you take a look?" Miles Fenn said angrily to the formation disciple beside him.
The formation disciple nodded and began studying the array.
But after a long time, nothing happened. Vice-Captain Li grew impatient, while Miles Fenn was even angrier.
Finally, the formation disciple, sweating, said, "Captain Fenn, looks like we'll need my master for this."
"Why?" Normally, any formation problems in the Fenn Family were handled by this formation master, so Miles Fenn was displeased to hear it wouldn't work now.
"This array has been altered. Aside from my master, none of us—including my senior brothers—can open it." The formation master said, sweating.
"Damn it, how could this happen?" Miles Fenn was furious.
"I've already contacted my master. He'll be here soon," the formation master said, still sweating.
"You mean Senior Chu?" Miles Fenn's anger faded as he asked.
"Yes." The formation master nodded.
So everyone had to wait impatiently. Vice-Captain Li used the time to recount the battle and how Evan Yang left at the end to Miles Fenn.
"Could he be a formation master?" Miles Fenn muttered, finding it hard to believe Evan Yang was also a formation master.
To confirm his suspicions, Miles Fenn waited for another array master—Victor Crowe—to arrive.
He was a renowned formation expert in the Three Palaces, able to lay out and break Spirit-grade arrays—and even understood some simple pseudo-Immortal formations.
"Master Crowe," Miles Fenn greeted respectfully.
"Ah, you're all here," Victor Crowe nodded.
Miles Fenn respectfully said again, "Yes, there's been a problem here. I hope Master Crowe can help resolve it."
"Let me take a look," Victor Crowe approached the array and studied it. Gradually, his confident expression changed, and he finally muttered, "It really has been altered."
No one dared to speak, since everyone knew Victor Crowe disliked being disturbed while working.
Finally, Victor Crowe said, "Breaking this array will take some time. Wait here."
What else could they do? Everyone had to wait. Half an hour later, the array finally loosened, and Vice-Captain Li and his team managed to break through together and open the passage.
But the Fenn Family's shop was ruined and would have to be rebuilt from scratch.
Miles Fenn said respectfully, "Master Crowe truly lives up to his reputation."
"Don't flatter me. I have no idea who set up this array—it's the first time I've seen something like this. It cost me a lot of time." Victor Crowe was clearly not pleased, and even a bit angry.
Miles Fenn explained the situation to Victor Crowe, who snorted, "Someone like that? If you ever catch him again, let me take a look. I want to know who has such quick array-altering skills."
"Of course." Miles Fenn replied with an awkward smile.
"If there's nothing else, I'll be going now," Victor Crowe said, then left in a bad mood.
Miles Fenn looked around, then glanced at Vice-Captain Li and snorted, "Let's go."
Vice-Captain Li and his team had no choice but to leave. As for the Fiend Realm people from North Slope, they didn't go back with them, but went off to look for someone else.
At the Fenn Family's Fenn Council Hall, Vice-Captain Li recounted the details to the steward, including Evan Yang's words.
Everyone present turned ashen-faced at what they heard.
"Damn it, is that brat really so arrogant?" Third Young Master Feng cursed loudly.
Miles Fenn frowned. "Looks like he already knew they were our Fenn Family's people, but didn't tell the Genius Pavilion."
"And he's openly opposing our Fenn Family," Third Young Master Feng snorted.
Then everyone looked at the steward, waiting for his decision.
The steward's face was grim as he finally said, "He claimed he wants to come for our Fenn Family, not the Genius Pavilion. Looks like he's planning to take us on single-handedly."
"Isn't that great? Now we can kill him openly," Third Young Master Feng said.
"Idiot. If we do it openly and the Genius Pavilion or the Three Palaces find out, they'll try to help him. This way, he knows, we know, but no one else needs to know." The steward shot him a cold look.
"So what do we do now?" Third Young Master Feng asked, frustrated.
"Where are those people?" the steward asked Vice-Captain Li.
"After that young man was taken, they're probably off looking for reinforcements or something," Vice-Captain Li replied awkwardly.
"They're from the Fiend Realm, and that young man's cultivation isn't very high—yet he can command others. That means his identity is unusual. If we can get the Fiend Realm people to help us, all the better. If anything happens, they'll take the blame," the steward said.
"The steward is right," Miles Fenn agreed.
Third Young Master Feng thought it made sense, but sighed, "But they've all disappeared. How do we find them?"
"They left in a hurry, probably to find help. Our Fenn Family should keep an eye out. If that doesn't work, we can ask the Guo Family to help us investigate—they always have good information," the steward said.
"All right, Captain Fenn, I'll leave this task to you. I must catch that brat," Third Young Master Feng said, changed by repeated failures.
Miles Fenn nodded. "I'll contact the Guo Family right away."
With that, Miles Fenn left the Fenn Council Hall, and Third Young Master Feng left in frustration. As for the two severely injured and two unharmed, they stayed behind to await punishment.
"Has he reached mid Spirit-God Realm?" the steward asked.
"Yes," Vice-Captain Li nodded.
"The four of you are several realms above them, and yet you still lost?" the steward said, displeased.
