Eric Jiang immediately smiled gently. "It's fine, I haven't been waiting long. I just arrived myself."
Molly Yun felt a pang in her heart.
This fool.
The flight wasn't delayed; it arrived right on time. It's not like Molly Yun didn't know that.
"You must've had something important come up, otherwise you would've come earlier for sure." Eric Jiang was always so gentle and considerate, forever making excuses for Molly Yun so she wouldn't feel guilty or blame herself.
Even Eric Jiang's assistant couldn't bear to watch anymore.
He'd seen men whipped by their wives before, but never to this extent.
"Eric." Molly Yun lowered her head and said, "I was just..."
"Alright, you don't have to explain." Eric Jiang took Molly Yun's hand and pressed it to his lips for a tender kiss. "I trust you."
Molly Yun's words of explanation were swallowed back instantly.
"Let's go home." Eric Jiang held Molly Yun's hand and turned to walk back.
At that moment, Cici finally got through on the phone: "Sis, you didn't go to the airport just now—where did you go?"
Molly Yun held the phone, sighed, and said, "I've already picked him up. I'll tell you later."
With that, Molly Yun hung up the phone.
She couldn't help but feel a little guilty for no reason.
Although she'd never had feelings for any man other than Eric Jiang, she had still left him waiting at the airport for so long because of another man. Thinking about it made her feel bad.
So, when it was time for dinner, Molly Yun volunteered to cook and made a whole table full of delicious dishes for Eric Jiang.
Eric Jiang was very appreciative, eating everything Molly Yun made and praising her nonstop. "When I was away, I missed Nora's cooking every day! Now that I'm back, I never want to eat those awful work meals again."
"Are you done with everything over there?" Molly Yun worried he might overeat, so she handed him a piece of hawthorn cake to help with digestion.
"Yeah, with Charles Yin's help, everything was resolved quickly." Eric Jiang lowered his head and said, "Charles got involved with family matters earlier than I did, so he's really skilled at handling these things. Luckily I called him in to help, or else I don't know how much longer it would've dragged on."
