Chapter 1072: Golden Liquid

The sudden change startled Rafael, who quickly pulled his hand back. Instantly, the golden liquid inside the translucent pillar stilled.

At the end of the passage, all eighteen light points on the stone gate lit up. Leon gently pushed the gate, which slowly opened, revealing a swirling vortex behind it, emanating a mysterious aura.

Leon stepped forward and vanished into the passage.

Light flickered, and everything around seemed to twist and elongate. Time and space lost all meaning here. Leon's expression remained calm as he gazed at the warped void, runes flashing rapidly in his eyes.

In less than a second, his mental calculations were exhausted. Even a single glance at the swirling information was overwhelming, surpassing the limits of comprehension...

Leon’s face grew paler. He quickly shut his eyes, refusing to look further. Yet, the fleeting glimpse he'd caught was cryptic and profound—impossible to unravel.

Inside the temple, the magic array finally lit up. Leon’s battered figure appeared at its center.

"Five and a half hours! My god, Matthew Merlin, I’m truly impressed—completely, utterly impressed. You’ve shattered everyone’s expectations. Five and a half hours! You’ve blown all our estimates out of the water."

You even took half an hour longer than I guessed!

Honestly, I thought you were dead in there. If I’d known the Path of the Heroic Spirits was this brutal for you, I might’ve lent a hand myself.

Rafael hesitated—there hadn’t been any danger before, so it should be fine now…

He placed his hand on his sigil, and instantly, the golden liquid at the base of the translucent pillar began to surge upward.

In just three seconds, the golden liquid climbed to a height of 3.2 meters before calming again.

Then, light flared across the huge wall at the end of the temple. Every intricate pattern lit up, merging into beams of light.

Leon looked calm—he’d known from the start that killing Krav wouldn’t be easy. Krav knew the little world inside out, every detail as clearly as his own body.

Signing that contract, Krav probably already knew this would happen. Yet he signed anyway, which meant only one thing—he was absolutely sure he could escape.

After two hours, Leon had changed into a fresh mage robe, his face now rosy instead of pale, and his wounds healed thanks to alchemical potions.

While everyone was still angry, Rafael, puzzled, walked up to the huge wall, touching the magic sigils. His confusion deepened.

When he touched his own sigil, it lit up. Suddenly, a huge translucent pillar rose from the right side of the wall.

It was as if the pillar had always been inside the wall, now jutting out halfway. At its base, golden liquid swayed.
