All the way, Evan Chu was burning with anxiety. Something like this happening at Heavenly Fragrance Pavilion was definitely the work of the dark organization, but he had no idea how the other sects were faring. If they'd all been attacked, total annihilation was a real possibility.
The Demon Generals of the dark organization were all terrifyingly strong. Just look at the Heavenbane Demon General from before—his Saint Martial Realm Fifth Layer cultivation was enough to wipe out an entire sect.
Wind roared past his ears. Evan Chu was sweating on his forehead—proof of how frantic he was inside. Roxanne Lin saw his state and immediately comforted him: "Lin Feng, don't worry. I'm sure everything will be fine."
"You know Rina and Lynne are both at Frostbane Sect, and their strength isn't that high. If something goes wrong, the consequences would be unimaginable—how could I not be anxious?" Evan Chu said, nearly beside himself. Right now, he wished he could arrive at Frostbane Sect instantly.
For most people, traveling from Heavenly Fragrance Pavilion to Frostbane Sect would take at least half a day. But for Evan Chu, it only required half a stick of incense.
After Evan Chu unleashed his full power and teleported again, he finally arrived in front of Frostbane Sect. The sect was eerily quiet, as if nothing had happened—but the ground was littered with corpses of sect disciples, sprawled everywhere.
Seeing this, Evan Chu was completely stunned—he nearly collapsed to the ground. He shouted in fury, "Who destroyed my Frostbane Sect? Show yourself!"
His eyes turned blood-red, and his overwhelming rage erupted, making Roxanne Lin shiver in shock. At that moment, even the little figure in Evan Chu’s sea of consciousness—linked to his Primordial Dragon Bloodline—showed a furious expression.
Suddenly, a torrent of power burst from the little figure’s mouth. Evan Chu instantly felt his whole body surge with battle intent, and a thunderous dragon roar echoed through Frostbane Sect. The brutal scene before him had triggered another transformation—he became a golden dragon once again.
Evan Chu’s massive dragon body gleamed with golden light as he soared into the sky, circling swiftly above Frostbane Sect. But aside from the dead disciples, he saw no sign of any living soul.
"Rina! Lynne! Selena! Where are you? Joan He, hurry up and come out—the Sect Master is back!" Evan Chu’s voice, now in his dragon form, was deep and thunderous, sending chills down everyone’s spine.
Seeing Evan Chu’s grief-stricken figure in the sky, Roxanne Lin felt her heart ache. Suddenly, a phoenix cry rang out—a blazing red bird soared into the air and quickly joined the golden dragon.
"Lin Feng, don’t be so sad. Maybe the ones who died were just ordinary disciples, and not that many at all. Calm down—maybe your sisters are perfectly safe," Roxanne Lin said.
Evan Chu glanced at Roxanne Lin in her phoenix form and said, "If I find the culprit, I’ll grind them to dust."
Gradually, his emotions settled down. He landed inside the sect, and with a thought, reverted to human form—something he no longer found strange.
"Lin Feng, use your divine sense to check. Your women are all fine—just like Roxy said, the ones who died were only ordinary disciples." Luna, the Sword Spirit, spoke up.
Hearing this, Evan Chu immediately spread out his divine sense to investigate. Sure enough, he noticed something odd—it was coming from the underground secret chamber of Frostbane Sect. Evan’s heart leapt with hope, and he instantly flew toward the chamber.
At the chamber entrance, Evan Chu immediately flung open the heavy stone door and rushed inside. To his shock, there were hundreds of people within—and many were badly wounded.
Inside were the Freewind Palace Lord, Sacred Sword Sect Master, Rina Dreamer, Lynne Nie, and several other women. Seeing them, Evan Chu’s heart finally calmed down, and everyone rushed over when Evan and Roxanne Lin appeared.
"What in the world happened? Why did something like this occur?" Evan Chu was the first to ask.
"Sect Master Chu, this might be a calamity for all our sects. Not long after you left, the hidden dark organization suddenly attacked. Four Saint Martial Realm Fifth Layer experts showed up—we never stood a chance. The casualties were dreadful," said the Sacred Sword Sect Master.
"Four Demon Generals of the dark organization—I understand. Don’t worry, I’ll avenge everyone. But why did they stop attacking after you retreated to the secret chamber? With their power, breaking in should’ve been easy," Evan Chu asked.
"Sect Master, we found it strange too. After everyone entered the chamber, the dark organization stopped attacking. Once the door closed, we heard an ancient, terrifying voice—it chilled us to the bone," Joan He said at once.
"What did that voice say?" Evan Chu asked.
"The voice was incredibly old. It said, 'Qing Shuang, you weren’t at Frostbane Sect, so I came for nothing. If you want revenge, come find me yourself. This time I only killed a few of your disciples—if you don’t show up in a month, next time it’ll be total annihilation.'" Joan He replied.
After thinking for a moment, Evan Chu said, "That was Venerable Solus. His power is unmatched—no one in the Azure Tide Ruins can stand against him. If he came in person, it’s not just about destroying a sect."
"Back in the day, it was he who instigated the Divine Battlefield war. How are your sects now? Were they completely ransacked?" Evan Chu asked.
"Maybe it’s karma. When we looted Blood Alliance, we should have expected payback. Now our sects have suffered the same fate, and we have no choice but to shelter at Frostbane Sect for now," said the Sacred Sword Sect Master.
Seeing the grief on everyone’s faces, Evan Chu said, "Don’t worry—as long as I’m here, I’ll keep you all safe. Frostbane Sect is your home now. Go on, everyone! The dark organization is gone from outside."
After everyone left the underground chamber and stepped into Frostbane Sect’s training grounds, a voice suddenly echoed in the sky: "Qing Shuang, you’ve finally shown yourself. In half a month, I’ll be waiting for you at the Divine Battlefield!"
Evan Chu was startled. He instantly flashed toward the source of the voice, but even at his speed, he saw no sign of the speaker—proof of their terrifying speed.
"I don’t even know where the Divine Battlefield’s entrance is—how am I supposed to get there?" Evan Chu called out to the empty air.
"When the time comes, someone will tell you how to get there. Don’t disappoint me, Qing Shuang…" The voice echoed again, but Evan Chu couldn’t tell where it was coming from…
