Housewarming Celebration

12/2/2025

Dr. Rowan Lin was determined to investigate this matter in secret. Since it involved the mystery of the Former Emperor’s death, he had to be especially cautious. Still, with the influence of the Lin Family, it wasn’t impossible—he just needed more time.

On the surface, Dr. Rowan Lin remained calm and collected. No one had any idea what he was really thinking.

Day by day, Quentin Lin spent time with Margaret Evans, treated Madam Lou’s foot, and left her wailing in pain, then quietly checked Lucy Lou’s pulse and recorded the results.

Lucy Lou grew increasingly fond of Quentin Lin. Every day after treatment, she would eagerly drag him off to play, bringing out piles of new toys to share, her eyes full of hope and worry that he might ignore her or refuse to play.

Quentin Lin, feeling both guilty and sympathetic toward Lucy Lou, stayed each day to play with her for half an hour.

During these moments, Lucy Lou was as happy as a child.

Meanwhile, Lily Evans and Alexander Hayes’s move was progressing in an orderly fashion.

All the details were handled by the staff—Lily Evans didn’t need to lift a finger.

Madam Lou didn’t want them to move out, but she knew she couldn’t stop it. So she lay on her bed every day, huffing in frustration, watching the servants haul things out bit by bit like a colony of ants.

“That wretched country girl has taken all the good stuff from Weiyuan Manor!” Madam Lou slammed her fist on the bed as she heard the latest servant report, fuming with anger.

Lily Evans moved all the betrothal gifts from Weiyuan Manor to the new Prince of Qin's Manor. These gifts had been carefully selected by Madam Lou years ago—no wonder she’d been shaking with anger for days, barely able to eat.

Meanwhile, at the Evans Manor, Margaret Evans’s dowry was nearly ready.

Lily Evans supplied most of the funds, with relatives each contributing a little. Her eldest uncle’s family was practically emptying their coffers to support Margaret Evans’s wedding.

The Lin Residence, newly purchased, was nearly finished as well. The decorations were elegant and refined. The Lin Family was flush with cash, never stingy—everything was top quality.

While checking on the Prince of Qin's Manor move, Lily Evans stopped by Lin Residence once and was utterly amazed. She thought to herself, 'My bargain dad sure is loaded!'

Before anyone knew it, a month had flown by. The Prince of Qin’s Manor was set up, Lin Residence was ready, and a door had been cut in the wall between the two estates. Now you could visit next door without ever leaving home—just a few steps and you were there. Convenient didn’t even begin to cover it!

Sean Hayes and Mrs. Penny, both in good health, had recovered completely after nearly a month.

Mrs. Penny and Sean Hayes owed their lives to Lily Evans. Now, their loyalty was unwavering. Mrs. Penny bustled about, helping with Margaret Evans’s wedding preparations, putting her whole heart into it—Lily Evans didn’t have to worry about a thing.

As the month drew to a close, Margaret Evans moved back to Evans Manor ahead of time, ready to depart from there for her wedding.

Lily Evans and Alexander Hayes, meanwhile, moved into the Prince of Qin’s Manor two days before Margaret Evans’s wedding.

On moving day, Lily Evans, ever the polite one, set foot in Madam Lou’s room for the first time. She intended to greet Madam Lou and tell her that she and Alexander Hayes would be leaving.

Accompanied by Alexander Hayes, Lily Evans entered Madam Lou’s room. Madam Lou lay in bed, her foot finally free of its cocoon of bandages. With Quentin Lin, Dr. Rowan Lin, and Simon Yu all heading back to Lin Residence to prepare for the wedding, Madam Lou was at last liberated from Quentin Lin’s daily torment.
