"Got it!" Ryan Ling nodded, not hesitating for a second. Time was gold. Even though Harlan Yanro had retreated and the Glass Pavilion was guarding them, Ryan still felt things were getting sketchier by the minute—there was definitely a huge conspiracy brewing behind the scenes.
So right now, Ryan had no other way forward—he had to get stronger. Only real strength could protect the people around him!
This time, when Ryan headed for the Sky-Burial Necropolis, he wasn’t planning to bring anyone along!
Given the current situation, anyone he brought would just be dead weight—and in serious danger!
The Sky-Burial Necropolis was nothing like Glassspire Peak. Sure, Glassspire Peak was called a forbidden zone, but in Ryan’s opinion, that was just hype. The real forbidden land was only one place—the Sky-Burial Necropolis!
This place could maybe give you insane achievements—but it was also packed with terrifying danger. Step inside, and you might strike it rich... or just drop dead right there!
So, Ryan didn’t hesitate—he headed straight for the northern border, the farthest reaches of the Immortal Domain World. That place was crawling with unknown dangers, and even with his Silver Void Immortal power, it’d take him several days to get there!
During those days, Ryan systematically checked over his own cultivation realm.
His Silver Void Immortal realm had improved during this period too. Back outside the Glass Pavilion, Ryan’s power had reached mid-stage Void Immortal. Now it was slowly climbing toward late-stage!
Silver Void Immortal also gave him some control over world qi. Sure, it was way weaker than an Earth Immortal, but the power was still pretty strong. Ryan’s strength kept rising—but honestly, the rate was just too slow!
After three days and nights of flying like mad, Ryan finally reached the edge of the Sky-Burial Necropolis. The temperature here was insanely low—any normal person would freeze solid in seconds, and even Earth Immortals probably couldn’t handle it.
"Damn, this place is seriously bitter-cold!" Ryan sucked in a breath—his feet were already going numb!
But just then, Ryan suddenly heard shouting and cursing not far away.
"Shit, I must have the worst luck in eight lifetimes! Stuck with this crap job, dragging you death-row losers out here—damn it!"
Ryan didn’t hesitate and quietly moved closer. This place was so empty you wouldn’t even see a ghost. Spotting a group of people here got him kind of excited—at least he could maybe learn something about the Sky-Burial Necropolis from them.
So Ryan crept closer and saw a prison guard grinning and said, "Hey bro, mind if I ask you something?"
"Are you even human or are you a ghost?" The prison guard jumped, yelling.
"Human, obviously! I just wanted to ask about this Sky-Burial Necropolis—" Ryan hadn’t even finished before another prison guard started shouting.
"Grab this guy! He’s gotta be an escaped prisoner—how could any living person show up in the Sky-Burial Necropolis!"
In a flash, seven or eight prison guards rushed over.
"Screw this! Get lost!" Ryan gritted his teeth. Dealing with these bastards was a waste of time—he was already at the edge of the Sky-Burial Necropolis and didn't want to burn any more true essence.
He swatted out with a burst of force, and all those prison guards went down. They were no match for Ryan!
"Idiots. Call me a prisoner one more time and I’ll kill you right here!" Ryan was feeling seriously unlucky, but he didn’t have time to mess around. He turned to leave.
But right then, a soft female voice cried out, "Hero, please save us! We’re innocent, we don’t want to die!"
The sudden shout made Ryan turn instinctively. Her voice was sweet, and when he finally saw her, he was surprised—this woman was gorgeous, absolutely stunning. Among the prisoners, she was a total knockout!
"Innocent, my ass! You’re the Black Widow—at least eight hundred people have died because of you, and you still claim you’re innocent? Get lost!" One of the prison guards didn’t hesitate and cracked his whip at her.
A loud crack rang out!
The beauty was sent flying, her chest ripped open, pale skin exposed—honestly, kind of a wild sight!
The prison guards saw this and their eyes turned sleazy. A bunch of them started rubbing their hands and walking over—clearly about to mess with the so-called Black Widow.
"Let her go!" Ryan strode over without hesitation, his eyes full of sympathy. Whether she’d hurt people or not, her innocent, pitiful look told him she wasn’t a bad person. Besides, watching a woman get abused and doing nothing? That’s just not how Ryan rolls!
"Listen, brother, I admit you’re tough—but she’s a serious criminal, and Nine-Dragon Gate personally signed off on sending her here. You don’t want to cross them. My advice? Walk away!" one of the older prison guards shouted.
"Nine-Dragon Gate, Eight-Dragon Gate, whatever—like I care! Let this woman go. I don’t want to see this kind of thing happen in front of me. Get lost!" Ryan didn’t care about their warnings and yelled.
"You—you dare slander Nine-Dragon Gate…" The other prison guards started shouting, acting like Nine-Dragon Gate was some kind of untouchable power.
"Get lost!" Ryan didn’t hesitate. He flung out his hand, sending the prison guards flying. They were so terrified, one of them even peed his pants.
"Boss, we’re sorry, we’ll leave right now!" the older prison guard shouted, clearly too scared to challenge Ryan. They all started begging for mercy.
"I’m giving you a chance to live—get out of here!" Ryan barked. He really didn’t want any more trouble.
"Got it, got it!" The prison guards didn’t say another word—they bolted, scared out of their minds!
Seeing the guards leave, Ryan turned to the prisoners. "Well, you guys got lucky running into me. Go on, you’re safe now!"
"Thank you, thank you!" The prisoners quickly thanked him. Clearly, nobody wanted to step into the Sky-Burial Necropolis—going in was basically a death sentence!
Most of the prisoners left, but the beautiful woman stayed. With a look of awe, she walked up to Ryan, her eyes full of gratitude.
"Thank you, benefactor. I—I have a request. Will you please grant it?" she said, dropping to her knees.
"Just tell me what you need. If I can help, I will!" Ryan sighed—he really had no defense against a beautiful woman.
"I want to stay by your side and serve you. I want to repay your kindness!" she said quickly.
"What? No, no need!" Ryan was speechless—he didn’t need that kind of help!
"I know you’re heading to the Sky-Burial Necropolis. That place is bitterly cold—most people can’t even reach it. Even with your high cultivation, you might not make it. But I can help you get there!" she said urgently.
"You can help me?" Ryan was surprised—he hadn’t expected her to say that.
"That’s right. You must have noticed I’m different from the others—I’m not afraid of the cold!" she said quickly.
"You’re not afraid of the cold?" Ryan listened and finally took a closer look. Sure enough, she was different—unlike the other prisoners, she wasn’t shivering at all. In fact, her body seemed to radiate warmth, almost like she was burning from the inside!
"What’s up with your body?" Ryan asked, curious.
