A Life for a Life

Quentin Lin saw that the Warren Family refused to agree, his anxious little face turning red, nearly on the verge of tears. He stomped his feet and said, "I really can save her! Eugene, Belle, this is the golden window to save the child—if we wait any longer, it’ll be too late!"

No sooner had Quentin Lin finished speaking than Dr. Rowan Lin entered with a stern face and scolded him: "Quentin, have you made enough trouble? You heard it yourself, even Eugene thinks you’re being ridiculous. This blood transfusion method of yours is pure fantasy—it’s impossible. No one here will trust your way, Quentin. I think you’ve been bewitched by those Western medical textbooks. From today on, you’ll stay home and study Lin Family medicine—no more of those Western books!"

Just as Dr. Rowan Lin finished speaking, Su Li’s voice rang out from behind, firm and clear: "I trust Quentin!"

Quentin Lin’s despairing eyes instantly lit up. He turned to Su Li, incredulous: "Sis, do you really believe in my blood transfusion method?"

"I do." Su Li, supporting her waist, walked over and looked at Quentin Lin seriously.

Quentin Lin immediately said, "Dad, look—Sis believes in me!"

Dr. Rowan Lin sighed helplessly, "Your sister doesn’t know medicine—she’s not a doctor. When it comes to medical matters, her opinion doesn’t count."

Quentin Lin’s face was flushed with anxiety: "I’m telling the truth! I really can save the baby, but if we keep waiting, it’ll be too late!"

The Warren Family’s steward was unmoved by Quentin Lin’s words, lost in his own grief.

Belle cradled the child in her arms, her eyes darting as she looked up at Su Li and Quentin Lin. "Princess Consort, you say you trust Quentin—is that really true?"
