Return Amidst Disaster

Colonel Hank nodded and climbed down the hatch of the submarine. Captain Charles Zhou suddenly turned to Jenna Chung and said, "Comrade, sorry, due to confidentiality, I've arranged a private cabin for you. On board, you can't move about freely, hope you understand. Please come with me down below."

Jenna Chung was taken aback, a trace of disappointment flashing in her eyes. Still, she understood the nuclear submarine was a top military secret of China, and her own identity was sensitive. Captain Zhou's arrangement was reasonable, so she nodded, indicating she understood, and followed him down the hatch.

Just then, the entire sea surface suddenly shook, boiling like a heated cauldron. Shawn Young, standing on the deck, was startled and looked up, seeing a long white line surge at the horizon, spreading outward in a leaping arc.

Shawn Young froze, quickly calming his mind and sweeping his divine sense across the area. He was shocked to discover that the long white line was actually a towering tsunami, dozens of meters high, rising abruptly from the distant sea!

Even someone as unfamiliar with tsunamis as Shawn Young couldn't help but turn pale, sensing the terrifying destructive power contained in this sudden wave. It was a force no human could possibly withstand...

At that moment, Shawn Young's heart raced with fear. He was especially worried about Luna Xiao and the other women still in Japan, since the tsunami looked overwhelmingly powerful. Shawn even felt that within its impact zone, Tokyo—and perhaps half of Japan—might not survive!

Just then, Jade Swann and Colonel Hank emerged from the submarine cabin. Jade Swann said to Shawn Young, "We just picked up reports that the underwater nuclear explosion triggered a chain reaction of earthquakes in Tokyo Bay."

"A chain reaction of earthquakes? Is it serious?" Shawn Young asked urgently.

Jade Swann shook her head and replied, "It's not clear yet. Tokyo Bay is right on a seismic fault line, so an underwater nuclear explosion causing ongoing quakes is normal. The destructive energy levels still need analysis. Our intelligence agents are closely tracking the situation..."

Colonel Hank stared at the terrifying wall of waves on the horizon and said to Shawn Young, "Heh, bro, good thing we left early—Japan's in real trouble now! The nuclear blast triggered a massive earthquake beneath Tokyo Bay, creating an unprecedentedly huge cavity. Now there's a monstrous tsunami, fifty or sixty meters high—like a twenty- or thirty-story building—sweeping across half of Japan. Worst of all, Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant near Tokyo seems to have been hit by the shockwave. We're still gathering info about a possible nuclear leak there."

Shawn Young felt uneasy, sensing something was wrong. He activated his 'Heavenly Eye' scan and saw the massive tsunami flooding Tokyo's coastline.

Countless people fled for their lives, but many were swallowed by the relentless tsunami. Houses, cars, and everything near the coast were consumed by the monstrous waves. Only then did Shawn Young truly realize the overwhelming power of nature—far beyond human resistance.

"Uh, I... I have to go back." Seeing the terrifying scene, Shawn Young grew anxious about Luna Xiao and the others, feeling an urgent need to return and finish his business.

"What? Go back? Are you crazy? Tokyo's chaos now—nuclear radiation everywhere! You want to go back and die?" Jade Swann quickly stopped him.

"But I haven't finished my business—I have to go back right now!" Shawn Young said, frowning.

"It's earthquakes and tsunamis over there—it's dangerous! Don't think your magic will keep you safe. You know in disasters this big, human power means nothing!" Jade Swann reminded him.

"I don't care! No matter what, I must go back!" Shawn Young said, resolute.

"You're so stubborn! Fine, do what you want..." Jade Swann, seeing she couldn't persuade him, stomped her foot angrily and returned to the cabin.

"Colonel Hank, can you take me back?" Shawn Young asked Han Feng.

Han Feng glanced at him, sighed, and didn't refuse. He patted Shawn Young's shoulder and said, "Alright, I'll fly you back right away..."

"Thank you, Colonel Hank!" Shawn Young said quickly.

"Thank me? If I had a bunch of beautiful women waiting for me over there, I'd do the same! Get on the helicopter, haha..." Han Feng chuckled, then went into the cabin to say a few words to Captain Zhou before coming out.

He took Shawn Young aboard the captured Self-Defense Force armed helicopter and started the engine. Just as they were about to take off, Jade Swann suddenly came out of the cabin, jumped onto the helicopter, and plopped down next to Shawn.

"Xiao Yu, why are you coming too?" Shawn Young asked in surprise.

"Because I want to! None of your business..." Jade Swann shot him a look.

"Uh... Fine!" Shawn Young was speechless and shrugged helplessly.

"Haha... Let's go!" Han Feng laughed from the cockpit, pulled the controls, and the helicopter lifted off the deck, skimming low over the sea toward Tokyo Bay.

After flying for about half an hour, they finally entered the Tokyo Bay coastline. Looking down, the once bustling city had become a living hell.

The aftershocks of the earthquake and tsunami were still raging. Everywhere, houses were submerged by seawater, countless corpses floated on the surface, and all kinds of objects swept into the sea drifted in the waves, densely packed and swaying.

Countless survivors were fleeing for their lives, trying to escape the danger zone before another tsunami hit, or they'd end up as floating corpses.

The three looked down from the sky, deeply moved. They realized how fragile human life is—in the face of such disaster, it is easily wiped out. When nature is angry, even the noblest lives are as insignificant as ants.
