The Ninefold Palace Lord smiled and asked, "So where is Reed Kong?" He then swept his gaze around the area.
Luckily, Reed Kong wasn’t here at this moment. Elder Mu stepped forward and said, "He’s currently not on Genius Star."
"Not here? Then where is he? Tell him to come here quickly. We’ll wait for him," the Ninefold Palace Lord said with a frown.
The surroundings fell silent, until Gavin Qiao spoke up again, "I know where he is."
"Oh? Where?" The Ninefold Palace Lord asked curiously.
"He has a friend at my clan’s estate. If you want to know where he is, just use his friend as leverage," Gavin Qiao said with a smile.
"Despicable," Elder Mu cursed silently, wishing he’d disciplined Gavin better in the past.
"So that’s how it is. Let’s go, we’ll follow you to your family estate," the Ninefold Palace Lord said, smiling.
Gavin Qiao was overjoyed—he could finally deal with Reed Kong once and for all, leaving no loose ends for his clan. So, he happily led the Ninefold Palace Lord and Patriarch Fenn away from Genius Star.
The three Pavilion Lords frowned. The situation was now out of their control—unless they brought in the other two Palace Lords. But why did Evan (Yang Han) kill so many Fenn Family members?
"Elder Mu, go check on the Fenn Family’s situation and report everything to me. Also, find out what the other two Palace Lords are thinking right now," the Left Pavilion Lord ordered.
"Understood, Left Pavilion Lord. I’ll go right away," Elder Mu replied. He quickly left, and as he did, he sent word to Reed Kong: no matter what, do not show yourself.
Reed Kong received Elder Mu’s message, feeling confused but unable to ask for details. He could only follow Elder Mu’s advice and stay hidden for now.
News of the Fenn estate being attacked by insects spread rapidly. All the major clans and the other two Palaces received word—a great clan suffering such a bizarre attack made everyone eager to investigate, so they sent people to look into it, and even smuggled out the corpses of the insects from the Fenns.
The Fenn estate was huge, with countless guards—many of whom had been bribed. The steward and others were currently in the Fenn Divine Hall, completely unaware of what was happening outside.
Those guards who had been bribed no longer wanted to stay at the Fenn estate, terrified they would be the next victims. After smuggling out insect corpses, they exchanged them for crystal sources or positions, then left the Fenns for good.
When the steward learned that so many people had suddenly left the Fenn estate, he was furious. "Damn it! We’ve always treated them well, but they just up and leave at a time like this!"
"These insects are terrifying. It’s normal that everyone’s afraid," said one of the Ninefold Palace men.
That was spot on. The Fenns looked at each other, remembering how glorious they once were—the number one clan on Ninefold Star. Now, after this disaster, if not for Patriarch Fenn, they might have already lost that title.
As for the other factions, once they got their hands on the insect corpses, they started researching them. The first to notice something strange were the people from Hundred-Bloom Palace and Heaven-Mystic Palace.
