Posing as a Captive

One day, Reed Kong stood outside the Fenn Family gate. When a guard saw him, he immediately ran inside to report.

From the inn, Evan Yang naturally noticed this and quickly sent a voice transmission: "Leave, now!"

The voice was so familiar that Reed Kong immediately withdrew, vanishing from the Fenn gate. By the time people from the Fenn Council Hall arrived, he had already left the planet.

"Where is he?" Patriarch Fenn asked.

"He was just here a moment ago," the guard said in terror.

"Useless! Next time, move faster," Patriarch Fenn growled angrily. The group then returned to the Fenn Council Hall.

"Patriarch, do you really think Reed Kong will come?" the steward asked suspiciously.

"Yes, he must have just come. We were simply a step too late," Patriarch Fenn muttered.

"Then why did he leave?" the steward asked, confused.

"I wish I knew," Patriarch Fenn said, suspicious and now somewhat frustrated. If not for the clan's spiritual-sense shielding array—which blocks both outgoing and incoming spiritual sense—he would have detected Reed Kong and wouldn't have let him slip away.

As for Reed Kong, he had already left the planet where the Fenn Family resided and traveled to a nearby second-class planet. There, he saw Evan Yang.

Evan Yang dropped his disguise. In a private room, the two faced each other, and Reed Kong said excitedly, "You finally came back."

"Sorry, I just got back and already brought trouble upon you," Evan said awkwardly.

"What trouble?" Reed Kong was still unaware of the situation and looked puzzled.

"I'm the one who destroyed the Fenn Family. They know I can disguise myself, so they're planning to capture you to threaten me. That's how things ended up like this." Evan said, embarrassed.

"So that's it. I wondered why the Fenn Family and Ninefold Palace Lord would jointly hunt me down. But don't feel guilty—things would have turned out this way anyway. Even if you hadn't stirred things up, I would have clashed with the Qiao Family. The only difference is the opponents are on a whole new level now." Reed Kong said.

Evan Yang sighed inwardly. The opponents may be different, but the gap between them was like heaven and earth—clearly a different league. He said helplessly, "Let me handle your daughter's rescue."

"No way. The Fenn Family and Ninefold Palace Lord are targeting you. If you go, you'll be walking right into their trap." Reed Kong objected.

"What about you?" Evan Yang understood Reed Kong's feelings and admired him at this moment.

"You have great potential. It's better for me to go and reunite with my daughter. At worst, I'll die." Reed Kong, now unconcerned about life and death, smiled.
