Buying Flowers and Running Into Old Friends

Cherry Miller turned around and saw Yina Yin and Ryan King making goofy faces at her.

Cherry Miller shook her head helplessly.

Those two just love stirring up trouble!

Wait till Yuzhen Yin gets back—let’s see how you two explain this!

Cherry Miller said to Jay Kee, "Alright."

Jay Kee was overjoyed and left with a big smile.

After closing the door, Cherry Miller leaned against it and said to Yina Yin and Ryan King, "Isn’t it a bit much to trick him like that?"

"Sis Cherry, Jay Kee really needs a reality check," Ryan King said, asking Bluey to bring him a glass of water. "I’ve looked into Jay Kee’s background."

"Hm?"

"Jay Kee has always been... ambitious. He knows exactly what he wants, and he’ll do whatever it takes to get it," Ryan King said, dropping his mischievous grin. "My people dug into his past—honestly, he’s the type you can tell is trouble at a glance."

"And then?"

"I can tell you and Yina Yin both have high hopes for Mason Ming. Having a friend like Jay Kee around isn’t necessarily a good thing." Ryan King said directly. "Yina and I talked about Mason and Jay Kee, and we agree: Jay Kee needs a wake-up call to understand that real feelings matter more than schemes. Right now, Mason and Jay Kee’s friendship is solid—just look at how Jay Kee takes care of Mason after his injury. Mason won’t give up on him. But if Mason keeps a friend who’s always looking for shortcuts, sooner or later it’ll lead him astray."

"So?"

"So, letting Jay Kee take a big loss, letting him fall hard, isn’t a bad thing. Plus, since we’re the ones setting it up, we can control the risks and the outcome."

Cherry Miller sighed. "Alright, you two convinced me again. Mason Ming really is a good kid. These days, it’s rare to find someone in showbiz who’s still pure at heart. For that honesty and innocence, I’m willing to help him out. Fine, let’s let Jay Kee take the fall this time."

Ryan King chuckled. "Honestly, watching Jay Kee misunderstand our relationship is kind of fun. Every time I talk to him, I have to put on a show."

Yina Yin sat on the sofa flipping through a magazine. "Mason Ming really is ambitious. He even gave me an IOU, swearing he’ll pay me back. If he’s determined to be someone with integrity, I can’t be the one to hold him back, can I?"

Cherry Miller shrugged. "Alright. For Mason Ming, I’ll play the villain just this once."

The next morning, Cherry Miller hadn’t even had breakfast when Jay Kee came knocking at her door.

"Sis Cherry, I made breakfast for you. Try it?" Jay Kee looked at Cherry Miller, eager for praise.
