Terrifying Creature

"That's right, it's strange." Lord Raziel furrowed his brow. If the Plane Lord escapes and there's no way to locate him, that's a disaster. He's an incredibly powerful Plane Lord with a terrifying ability—devouring. He can consume any creature or human weaker than himself, then raise his own strength, becoming even stronger. By then, no one will be able to stop him.

"So what should we do? Is there really nothing we can do?" Evan Yang asked anxiously.

Lord Raziel shook his head and said, "There's nothing we can do."

"Then what does he actually look like? Where can he usually be found, or where might he be hiding to recover?" Evan Yang asked.

"He's a terrifying creature, able to devour any creature or human weaker than himself to strengthen his power, eventually reaching a level where we can't control him," Lord Raziel explained.

Evan Yang felt a chill in his heart at these words—it was just too frightening. Still, he refused to accept it and pressed for more details about the creature's habits, but all the God-Spirits could say was its special abilities; none could guess where it might be hiding.

"Damn it," Evan Yang muttered in frustration.

"He might just be hiding in a spatial crack, waiting for the right moment to come out. But spatial cracks are everywhere—there's no way to know where he's hiding," Lord Raziel said.

Evan Yang frowned. If that was really the case, then humanity was truly facing extinction.

Seeing Evan Yang's worried expression, Lord Raziel said, "Don't worry. Even though we can't find him right now, we know he's badly injured. Without at least several hundred thousand years, he can't recover to his peak. So during these hundreds of thousands of years, if he wants to get stronger, he'll definitely have to come out and cause trouble. When that happens, we'll be able to track him down."

Hearing Lord Raziel say this, Evan Yang could only accept it. There was nothing else he could do—he had no way to find out where the Plane Lord had gone. In fact, he had never even seen its true face; just now, all he saw was a mass of blackness, and then nothing at all.

"Alright, tidy up and let's leave this place. We should return to our own divine halls and try to recover over the next hundreds of thousands of years for the coming great war," Lord Raziel said.

"What about the humans here?" Evan Yang knew that the humans of this plane were created later; he wasn't sure how to handle them.

"Don't worry. As for the humans here, you've already dealt with many of the powerful creatures. They can survive on their own now, and by staying here, we can also get news if the Plane Lord ever resurfaces," Lord Raziel said.

After hearing Lord Raziel's words, Evan Yang felt it made sense. He took up his divine sword and left.

On the Divine Saint Star, the slumbering Divine Avatars were all sleeping in various places, while that strange creature's eyes suddenly flashed. "Damn it! My second body was destroyed—curse it! I didn't expect that guy to have such an ability."

If Evan Yang had heard this, he would have been utterly shocked. He never imagined that the creature on the Divine Saint Star was actually an incarnation of the Plane Lord. At this moment, it had become its true body, but it was quite weak and needed time to recover. And the Divine Saint Star was the best place for it to heal.

No one knew why an incarnation of the Plane Lord appeared on the Divine Saint Star, and even the Divine Avatars' souls had no idea.

As for Evan Yang, he calmed his emotions and entered the Chaos World, retracing his original route.

This was the road back to the Immortal Realm. Evan Yang felt both happy and disappointed—happy that he'd gained much more power, disappointed that he still hadn't destroyed the Plane Lord, leaving everyone with a hidden calamity. It was even worse than when the Plane Lord was sealed in the Crystal Coffin; at least then its location was known. Now, not only did he not know, he couldn't even guess when it would reappear. The only consolation was that it would need hundreds of thousands of years to recover, so at least he had time to grow stronger.

Soon, Evan Yang returned to the Immortal Realm. The first thing he did was deliver all the God-Spirits to Elder Woodspirit at the Wood Temple—only he was qualified to protect them. Evan himself had more important matters to attend to.

When Elder Woodspirit heard Evan Yang recount the whole process, he was shocked. He could only sigh at the Plane Lord's escape, but comforted Evan, saying, "You've already done very well."

"Thank you for your praise, Elder Woodspirit," Evan Yang replied.

"What are your plans now?" Elder Woodspirit asked.

Evan Yang thought for a moment and said, "I plan to go train in the Chaos World."

"What?" Elder Woodspirit hadn't expected Evan Yang to have such plans.

Ever since Evan Yang saw that mysterious old man in the Chaos World, he knew there were even stronger places there, though he hadn't explored them yet. Now, if he wanted to grow stronger, he had to train—only then could he defeat the Plane Lord in the future.

So Evan Yang explained his thoughts to Elder Woodspirit. After listening, Elder Woodspirit said, "You're even more ambitious than I thought."

"There's no other way. The God-Spirits are like this now—they'll need hundreds of thousands of years to recover, and who knows what will happen then. The only thing I can do is get stronger, so I can protect my family, friends, and home," Evan Yang said.

"Your idea is good, I support it. In that case, when will you set out?" Elder Woodspirit asked.
