Seeing this, Lord Greenguard thought Evan Yang was about to burst apart and die, so he laughed loudly, "Go die!"
But unexpectedly, Evan Yang suddenly vanished and appeared behind him, gripping a sword that pierced straight through Greenguard's back.
Zzz—The sword had already gone through his chest. Lord Greenguard stared in disbelief at the gaping wound, grabbed the Soulreaver Godblade and shouted, "Damn it, you dare play tricks on me!"
But the Soulreaver Godblade was incredibly sharp, slicing straight through his arm. Evan Yang yanked it back, and by now his cultivation had reached the void-solid stage. Evan looked at Greenguard and smiled, "How does it feel?"
"Weren't you supposed to die? How is this possible?" Lord Greenguard stared at Evan Yang in disbelief.
"To tell you the truth, I should thank your power—it helped me break through to the void-solid stage," Evan Yang laughed.
"Impossible! My power should have made you explode, not helped you!" Lord Greenguard protested, refusing to believe it.
"That's my secret, but I won't tell you. Now, let me send you on your way." With that, Evan Yang raised the Soulreaver Godblade and brought it down hard.
Lord Greenguard cried out, "No!" The Soulreaver Godblade engulfed most of his body, but Greenguard tore open the space behind him and escaped. This always gave Evan Yang a headache—the enemy had the ability to devour space, something he could hardly imagine. Stowing away the Soulreaver Godblade, Evan muttered, "He should be seriously injured now."
At this moment, Lord Greenguard was indeed gravely wounded—almost unconscious, with more than half his soul devoured by the Soulreaver Godblade and only a sliver of strength remaining. Using his last bit of power, he dragged himself to his usual cultivation spot.
After reaching his cultivation spot, Lord Greenguard lay quietly, slowly recovering. Meanwhile, Evan Yang seized the opportunity—no guardians were present—and looked at the Ling Void Expanse before him, then flashed through it in a single move.
Inside, he saw an empty space, with only a Crystal Coffin floating quietly in midair. Bands of light coiled around it—these were the incarnations of various God-spirits.
Evan Yang glanced around, considering how to approach. The area was saturated with all sorts of attributes. Unsure if they would conflict, he carefully drew closer. Soon, various powers—fire, earth, wind—poured into his body, but none posed any danger to him; if anything, they were only possible for him to absorb.
Once he was sure nothing here could threaten him, Evan Yang picked up speed, moving faster and faster until he stood before the Crystal Coffin.
The incarnations of various God-spirits coiled around the Crystal Coffin. As Evan Yang approached, they instantly understood everything.
"You've come?" An aged voice sounded.
Evan Yang asked curiously, "Senior, who are you?"
"People call me the Lightning God-Spirit," the aged voice replied.
"So it's Senior. May I ask, how can we prevent the Plane Lord from awakening?" Evan Yang asked curiously.
"It's difficult—extremely difficult. Our power is almost used up, and he's waking up faster and faster," the aged voice said.
"Is there any way?" Evan Yang only wanted to know the solution right now.
"Our remaining power won't be able to restrain him for much longer, but we can use what's left to help you. If you absorb this power and strike directly at the creature inside the Crystal Coffin, that's our best chance. If you succeed, that's ideal. But if you fail, it means all the realms will be in crisis," said Lord Raziel.
Evan Yang didn't know how much power these God-spirits still had, but there was no other choice. What worried him was their fate, so he asked, "If you give me all your power, what will happen to you?"
"We will also disappear," Lord Raziel replied.
Hearing this, Evan Yang found it hard to decide—it meant using their last bit of life to fight the Plane Lord.
"There's no time. Either way, this is your only chance. You get one shot—if you succeed, great. If not, you'll have to escape to the Chaos Realm and at least save your life. Settle the score with him another day," Lord Raziel had already prepared for the worst.
Hearing this, Evan Yang was unwilling to let the Plane Lord devour the other realms. After all, his friends and family were in the Immortal Realm—he couldn't allow it. No matter what, he had to destroy the terrifying Plane Lord.
"No matter what, I will destroy him," Evan Yang said.
"Good, excellent. We sensed earlier that you wield a divine artifact. May I see it?" Lord Raziel asked.
Evan Yang knew he'd used the Soulreaver Godblade outside, so he took it out. The God-spirits all looked astonished, especially Lord Raziel, who exclaimed, "A true divine artifact!"
"A True God-Relic?" Evan Yang didn't understand what this treasure really meant.
"You probably don't know what a True God-Relic is. It's an incredibly powerful treasure—if you have enough strength, you can unleash immense power. Even we Divine Avatars can't truly wield its full might," Lord Raziel explained.
Evan Yang looked astonished. Had he only been using a fraction of the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword's power all this time?
Seeing Evan Yang's surprise, Lord Raziel said, "We Divine Avatars can only use Lesser God-Relics at most. True God-Relics are far superior. But this is perfect—we can channel all our remaining power into this sword. You use the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword for your strongest strike, aiming directly at the Crystal Coffin."
Evan Yang hesitated. "Is there really no way to preserve you all?"
"No. When our power is gone, we'll disappear. Our mission will be complete, and humanity's future will depend on you," Lord Raziel said.
Evan Yang gritted his teeth, knowing this was a critical moment—not the time for weakness. He nodded, "Alright, let's begin."
"Good. Hold the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword steady. We'll inject our power. When I tell you, strike at the Crystal Coffin immediately," Lord Raziel instructed.
Evan Yang nodded, gripping the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword. Then Lord Raziel's power poured into the sword, followed by the water, fire, and earth Divine Avatars—one after another, over a dozen Divine Avatars all infused their power into the sword.
The Soul-Devouring Divine Sword in Evan Yang's hand instantly felt heavy, its power immense. He knew that even a brush from this force could seriously injure him. With the Crystal Coffin losing the Divine Avatars' suppression, the creature inside began to awaken faster. As the last Divine Avatar withdrew, the coffin's lid flew open with a thunderous bang.
Lord Raziel immediately shouted, "Attack!"
Evan Yang knew that with this attack, all the Divine Avatars would disappear, but he had no choice. Gripping the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword, as the lid flew open and a mass of black essence shot out, Evan slashed down without hesitation.
The black essence sizzled, then vanished from Evan Yang's sight, while immense power gathered around the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword. For the first time, Evan felt as if with a single thought, he could destroy an entire world-realm.
Just like that, until the power on the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword gradually faded, the surroundings became empty—even the Crystal Coffin was reduced to powder. That incredibly sturdy coffin now looked like this.
"Whew, are they all gone?" Evan Yang gazed at the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword, feeling sadness. It had happened so suddenly, and ended just as suddenly—it was hard to believe.
He could hardly accept that such a powerful Plane Lord—a being even the Divine Avatars feared—had been destroyed by a single strike from him.
Just as Evan Yang was doubting himself, a voice came from the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword: "We're actually still alive."
It was Lord Raziel's voice, along with the voices of the other Divine Avatars. Evan was overjoyed and looked at the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword. It turned out the sword had bound the souls of these Divine Avatars within itself. He laughed, "So that's how it works."
"What exactly is this True God-Relic? Why is it so powerful?" Lord Raziel couldn't imagine how the artifact could be so strong—not only could it preserve the souls of the Divine Avatars, but it could also contain such immense power.
"The Soul-Devouring Divine Sword—a sword I obtained long ago," Evan Yang said.
"Soul-Devouring Divine Sword? That name sounds familiar. It's supposed to be a sword that can devour souls, but I never imagined it would save us. Thank you," Lord Raziel said gratefully.
"I didn't know the sword could preserve you all," Evan Yang said awkwardly.
"No matter what, we've been preserved, and the Plane Lord has been destroyed," Lord Raziel said.
Evan Yang was still uneasy. "Lord Raziel, how can we be sure the Plane Lord is really destroyed and didn't escape?"
"With such overwhelming power just now, he shouldn't have been able to escape," Lord Raziel said.
"Then how can we be sure?" Evan Yang wanted a definite answer, not just speculation.
After discussing among themselves, the Divine Avatars finally decided, and Lord Raziel said, "There's one way—tracking. When we fought him years ago, we left traces of our aura on his body. If we combine our efforts, we can determine whether he's still alive."
"Then hurry and try it," Evan Yang said.
"We're weaker now, with only our God-Avatar Souls left, so we'll need to borrow your power," Lord Raziel said.
"Tell me, what should I do?" Evan Yang asked.
"Just inject your power into the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword. We'll use the energy you provide to investigate," Lord Raziel said.
Evan Yang nodded and, following Lord Raziel's instructions, injected his power into the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword. Then, several Divine Avatars drew on that power from the sword to jointly investigate whether the Plane Lord was still alive.
Meanwhile, Evan waited outside the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword. Time slowly passed. When the Divine Avatars finished probing, they all wore looks of disbelief.
"What is it?" Evan Yang sensed a bad premonition.
Lord Raziel frowned. "We can't locate his position."
"Does that mean he's been destroyed?" Evan Yang asked curiously.
"No. If he were destroyed, there would be no trace of him at all. But we can still sense that he's alive—we just don't know where," Lord Raziel said in shock.
Evan Yang was horrified. "No way..."
