There Are Always People Who Don't Know Their Place

Jane Gu didn't have time to buy new clothes, so she was still wearing her own.

As for Cecilia Gu, she preferred comfort and convenience, so all her clothes were custom-made.

Anything custom-made definitely isn’t off-the-rack or from a big brand.

So, unsurprisingly, the two of them were immediately treated like country bumpkins.

Well, that’s not exactly wrong.

But the real mistake was that woman completely ignored Cecilia Gu.

Before Cecilia Gu's assistant Wendy could say anything, the server quickly explained for her: "She's a member here too!"

That sharp, bitter voice complained, "This is ridiculous! Any random riffraff can come and experience this place! Even if you have a membership, it must be the lowest tier, right? Whatever, this is such bad luck! Seeing people like this kills my shopping mood!"

Jane Gu nervously tugged at Cecilia Gu's sleeve. "Maybe we should just leave."

"Why should we leave?" Cecilia Gu said casually. "There are plenty of dogs in this world—are we supposed to stop them from barking?"

Without another word, Cecilia Gu pulled Jane Gu inside, showed her membership card to the receptionist, and said, "Give my mom a beautiful makeover."

The staff took one look at Cecilia Gu’s card and their eyes nearly popped out!

Never judge a book by its cover!

This mother and daughter looked totally ordinary, but they were holding the highest-tier membership card!

The staff didn’t dare slack off now—they rushed over, bowing and nodding, treating them with the utmost respect.

Cecilia Gu pushed Jane Gu in for her makeover and waited on the sofa nearby.

Wendy’s phone started dinging, and she quickly reminded Cecilia Gu, "Mrs. Yin, red envelopes! Red envelopes!"

Cecilia Gu quickly pulled out her phone and joined the assistants’ group chat.

Sure enough, Charles Yin was sending out red envelopes again!

Ugh, why has he been so obsessed with sending red envelopes lately?

Who cares? I just love snatching red envelopes lately!

Cecilia Gu clutched her phone, frantically grabbing red envelopes while chatting in the group: "Charles Yin, you're so stingy! Only one red envelope?"

Charles Yin, who was in a meeting, almost lost his composure. He kept a straight face while listening to his subordinate's report, but his fingers were busy typing in the group chat: "A hundred bucks is plenty! Haven't seen you send any red envelopes lately!"

Cecilia Gu was practically clawing at the walls in frustration.

She didn't have any money left... All her red envelope funds had already been transferred away...

Just to annoy Charles Yin, Cecilia purposely sent a one-yuan red envelope.

The assistants played along. Alex shouted in the group: "Wow, I'm the lucky king! Wait, only thirty cents as the lucky king?"

"Pfft!" Charles Yin couldn't hold back and burst out laughing.

The department head who was reporting to him started sweating nervously.

The CEO's vibe is way off today!

Did I mess up my report?

Why is the CEO so happy?

Or is this a setup? Is he laughing now just to have fun tearing me apart later?

Just thinking about that possibility made the department head sweat even more.

Charles Yin tapped his phone and sent Cecilia a big red envelope privately: "Here's your lunch money for today! Don't eat too much! I can't afford to feed you!"

Pfft pfft pfft...

All the assistants clutched their phones and burst out laughing!

Is this guy really our CEO?

Are we sure this isn't someone impersonating him?

Cecilia Gu hugged her phone, confidently accepted the big red envelope, then sent Charles Yin a tiny one in return: "I heard beauties have to diet! So here's a little treat for you, don't be too grateful!"
