Cherry Miller's words made Cindy Wu's heart race wildly.
She couldn't help but stand up abruptly, instinctively wanting to refute.
Cherry Miller continued, "There are a lot of people dining in this restaurant, but the soundproofing is excellent. So, you don't have to worry—our conversation today won't spread."
The words Cindy Wu was about to blurt out got stuck in her throat.
"What I say to you today won't be told to a third person either," Cherry Miller continued. "So, you can relax."
Cindy Wu was stunned for a while before she sat back down.
Cherry Miller picked up her teacup, took a graceful sip, and then spoke softly, "Miss Yin told me you’re a good girl—kind-hearted, pure, and adorable, worth protecting."
Cindy Wu turned her head away and stayed silent.
"I hope Miss Yin’s judgment is right. I also hope you really are someone worth protecting. So, only I know about this, and I’ve kept the impact to a minimum. Once we walk out that door, today’s conversation never happened." Cherry Miller smiled. "Does my sincerity satisfy you?"
"Thank you," Cindy Wu finally spoke.
"I'm just an ordinary person, same as you. So, I thought it'd be more appropriate for me to talk to you. That way, you won't feel there's a power imbalance, like someone lecturing from above." Cherry Miller said with a smile.
Cindy Wu was at a loss for words; that was exactly what she'd been thinking.
This girl is really impressive!
So smart—no wonder she's the Chief Assistant.
"I'm glad you think Nora is outstanding. After all, having an excellent boss means I, as the Chief Assistant, benefit too," Cherry Miller said. "But no matter how outstanding she is, she's still a girl, and a very straightforward one. Many people think a tomboy must have issues with her orientation. That could be true for some, but definitely not for Miss Yin. The reason she's always acted cool isn't because she likes girls—it's because she refuses to lose."
"Refuses to lose?" Cindy Wu looked at Cherry Miller in confusion.
Cherry Miller unlocked her phone, casually picked a photo of Ethan Yin, and handed it to Cindy Wu. "What do you think of him?"
Cindy Wu's gaze fell on the phone, and she was completely stunned.
Calling him handsome just doesn't do him justice.
His domineering aura and noble bearing were overwhelming.
"He's the heir of the Yin family, Ethan Yin, and Yina Yin's older brother. From the moment he was born, he was the center of attention. He's been outstanding since childhood—talented in both literature and martial arts, and a source of pride for the entire Yin family. From the moment Nora was old enough to understand things, she set her brother as her goal and swore to surpass him. So, a lot of her actions, behaviors, and habits are unconsciously imitating her brother."
"What can you do? The eldest young master of the Yin family is just that exceptional. It's only natural for his little sister to imitate him." Cherry Miller took back the phone, swiped to a photo of Miles Gu, and handed it to Cindy Wu again. "What do you think of him?"
Cindy Wu's eyes widened again!
Such a beautiful man!
"His name is Miles Gu. He's the adopted son of the Yin family, the new Earl of England, Nora's fiancé, the son-in-law of the Yin family, and also... one of the heirs of the Yun family." Cherry Miller continued, "He inherited the lady's surname, so naturally he inherited half of the Yun family's wealth! Of course, compared to the Feil family, the Yun family's fortune is nothing. But the Yun family's three treasures and family heritage are priceless."
"So, how much chance do you think you have to beat them?" Cherry Miller continued, "I'm not trying to use wealth to pressure you. But in reality, all these things are so real and undeniable. Why wrong yourself by pouring out your feelings, only to get nothing in return?"
Cindy Wu lowered her head without saying a word.
"Every feeling deserves respect. I'm not discriminating against your feelings—on the contrary, I admire your taste, because my Miss really is that outstanding. It's not strange that you like her. But, girl, I feel sorry for you too! Because you're good enough, you deserve a better love, a better person." Cherry Miller said sincerely, "Right now, you're just starting to feel something, but you haven't fallen too deep yet. It's still not too late to pull back."
Cindy Wu picked up her teacup and drank it all in one go.
She couldn't even taste what she was drinking.
"But if it's a doomed love, why keep holding on? It's not like you're lacking in options or unwanted." Cherry Miller continued, "You became student council vice president in your first year of high school, which shows you're definitely capable. You're so outstanding—why can't you see this clearly?"
"Yes, I admit you're good at talking. What you say makes sense. But how can you be sure Nora has no feelings for me?" Cindy Wu still refused to give up.
"Of course I know." Cherry Miller smiled confidently. "Do you think there are no beauties at Saint Diana Academy? If Miss Yin was into girls, with her skills at flirting, don't you think she'd have succeeded by now?"
Cindy Wu was instantly speechless.
"You have to understand, the bloodlines of noble families have been refined by generations of beautiful women. Look at Ethan Yin, look at Miles Gu, look at Mu Ziyue, look at Sam Shang, look at Mo Yu and Mo Shuo, look at Jing Shaohuai—tell me, which one isn't good-looking? Their ancestors for generations have been full of beauties. With such strong genes, it's rare for anyone from a wealthy family to turn out plain. Surrounded by so many beauties, Miss Yin has stayed true to herself—doesn't that prove something?" Cherry Miller's rebuttal left Cindy Wu speechless.
"Right now, before you say anything, Miss still sees you as a cute, pure girl worth protecting. Stop now—it’s not too late." Mi Xiaoying said, "Maybe she’ll never know that, in her most innocent years, there was a girl who quietly liked her. And there was a girl who chose to bury her feelings to protect them. But I’ll know. No matter what, both she and you will have the most perfect lives."

Hearing Mi Xiaoying’s words, Wu Xinlan collapsed onto the table and began sobbing uncontrollably.
Mi Xiaoying sighed, stood up, and handed Wu Xinlan a tissue.
Wu Xinlan took the tissue and wiped her tears away in embarrassment, crying her heart out.
Mi Xiaoying didn’t say anything more, just quietly kept Wu Xinlan company.
When Wu Xinlan had almost finished crying, Mi Xiaoying finally said, "I’m really sorry, but I still want to know your decision. Can you tell me what you’ve decided?"
Wu Xinlan sobbed, "You’ve said so much—what else can I say? You’re right. Pulling back now is probably the best ending for both of us. I just… pity my foolish heart, loving the wrong person. I’ve never liked anyone this much, you know? When she said those words to me, my heart was racing! But… but why does she have to be a girl? If she were a boy, maybe I’d still have a chance. But… but…"
"But it was all wrong from the start." Mi Xiaoying patted her back. "At least it’s not too late!"
Wu Xinlan nodded softly. "I understand."
After Wu Xinlan finished crying, Mi Xiaoying considerately had someone bring water so she could wash her face and tidy up. Only then did she say, "Since you’re here, how could you not try the food? It was my fault this afternoon, and as my Miss always says, making a beauty cry deserves punishment. So, lunch is on me today."
Wu Xinlan felt embarrassed. "That’s not necessary. You really don’t have to go out of your way. With your status, you don’t even need to see me. Just give an order and someone would stop me."
"That’s because I’m a girl too!" Mi Xiaoying replied with a smile. "If the person I loved was treated like this by his family, how would I feel? So, I’d rather use this approach to persuade you to let go."
"You really are a good person," Wu Xinlan said, eyes red. "You’re all good people!"
"Alright, now that you’ve tidied up, don’t ruin your makeup with more tears." Mi Xiaoying picked up a tissue and wiped away Wu Xinlan’s tears. "Come on, lunch is ready. Let’s eat. After lunch, we have more important things to do. I’m really looking forward to Youlin High’s performance at the campus festival!"
"Okay." Wu Xinlan finally managed a small smile. "Youlin High won’t let you down! I won’t let you down either!"
"Great!" Mi Xiaoying replied happily.
Lunch was brought into the room. Mi Xiaoying didn’t bring up the earlier topic again. She warmly served Wu Xinlan food and told her what each dish was and which chef made it.
Listening to Mi Xiaoying’s stories, Wu Xinlan gradually forgot her earlier pain.
She realized Mi Xiaoying was truly knowledgeable.
Her breadth of knowledge and insight far surpassed that of an average college student.
If the assistant is this outstanding, then as the eldest Miss of the Yin family, Yinuo Yin must be even more remarkable, right?
Wu Xinlan sighed inwardly.
It really is fate without destiny!
After the meal, Mi Xiaoying personally escorted Wu Xinlan out.
On the way out, they happened to run into Yinuo Yin.
"Hey, beauty!" Yinuo Yin greeted her out of habit.
Wu Xinlan's eyes flickered, then she glanced quickly at Mi Xiaoying.
Mi Xiaoying just smiled at her.
Wu Xinlan smiled at Mi Xiaoying, then turned, greeting Yinuo Yin calmly, "Hello, Miss Yin."
Yinuo Yin was taken aback.
She felt like Wu Xinlan had somehow changed.
But she couldn’t quite put her finger on what had changed.
Anyway, as long as the beauty is happy, that’s all that matters.
"Where are you two headed?" Yinuo Yin couldn’t help but ask.
"I’m taking her home," Mi Xiaoying replied with a double meaning. "Taking her down the path she’s meant to walk."
After saying this, Mi Xiaoying and Wu Xinlan exchanged a glance, their smiles complicated and endless.
Mi Xiaoying walked Wu Xinlan all the way to the gate of Saint Dia Noble Academy.
"Thank you for what you said to me today," Wu Xinlan said softly. "Thank you for thinking of me."
"It’s nothing. I hope you’ll have a place at Saint Dia Noble University in the future," Mi Xiaoying said with a smile. "I never let talent slip away."
Wu Xinlan smiled. "Alright, I’ll work hard for that goal. Goodbye!"
"Goodbye!" Mi Xiaoying nodded with a smile.
After seeing Wu Xinlan off, Mi Xiaoying decided to go see Gu Miao.
Just as she turned around, she bumped right into someone’s arms.
Yin Yuhan said nonchalantly, "Oh, as soon as I show up, you throw yourself into my arms. Not bad, not bad—you’re finally coming around."
Mi Xiaoying instinctively tried to push him away, but Yin Yuhan immediately wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her close. He leaned in and whispered in her ear, "I heard you just solved a problem for Xiao Nuo. As a reward, should I kiss you, or should you kiss me?"
