Road of Hope: The Resolute Ones 7

12/15/2025

For three consecutive nights, I kept entering Rachel Lan's dreamspace. The blue circular houses had already been built, and looking around, there were several scattered throughout.

Tonight, I could almost see the rooftops, and this world had gained something new—a patch of teal water appeared, while the red stones were now scattered everywhere.

I continued to look around this place, this dreamspace full of vitality. What puzzled me most was that, although I woke up each morning feeling somewhat tired, I still felt an abundance of strength.

Suddenly, I caught sight of a streak of fiery red. I immediately drifted over, surprised for a moment—a flame shot up from the ground, burning slowly. The white atop it began to gray bit by bit; everything here felt somewhat unbelievable.

In many places, piles of stones in other colors appeared—brown, black, pink, purple. I didn't know what was happening, but it seemed that some kind of change was taking place inside Rachel Lan's body.

These past few days, although Rachel Lan has been a bit down because of the Forsaken, she always wears a smile. She herself doesn't know what this change is all about.

Though Rachel Lan's figure still hasn't appeared, I find myself growing fonder of this place; everything feels fresh to me.

I quietly leaned against an unfinished blue circular stone house, enjoying the scene. Suddenly, I spotted a patch of black in the distance.

With curiosity, I got up and walked toward that darkness. Instantly, the ease on my face vanished—I sensed something deeply familiar: Curse Power.

With a whoosh, I flew to the spot where Curse Power spilled from the ground like a little tail. Instantly, I reached out and grabbed this tangible Curse Power, pinning it down tightly.

"What do you want to do?"

I immediately roared, nearly hysterical with rage. A streak of purple flame ignited on me—no matter who it was, I would never allow them to harm Rachel Lan in the slightest.

With a sizzling sound, the Curse Power burned away and vanished. But instantly, I felt as if my chest had been scorched—I clutched my chest in pain, my mind on the verge of collapse.

"Go to the lakeside and have some water. Rest for a while."

A gentle female voice echoed in my mind. I stared in astonishment, then stumbled to the edge of the teal water, scooped some up and drank. Instantly, a chill spread from my chest throughout my body. Gasping, I looked up at the sky, feeling much better.

After lying there for a while, I finally let out a sigh of relief. I got up and looked around.

"Thank you. Who are you?"

I called out, but there was no response.

"Is it Roxie?"

I asked again, but even as my consciousness faded into morning, I received no answer.

In the morning, I told Rachel Lan about what happened. She was just as puzzled.

"Qingyuan, I don't know what's happening to my body. For so long, I've never dreamed—every night I sleep deeply, and even loud noises wouldn't wake me."

"It's okay."

Sylvia Blue quietly watched Rachel Lan from the side.

"The appearance of Curse Power isn't a coincidence. From now on, you'd better enter Rachel Lan's dreamspace every night."

"That's what I was thinking, too."

I glanced at Sylvia, then asked in confusion:

"Can't you enter?"

I asked, and Sylvia shook her head. She didn't explain the reason.

Today, another Black Sun disappeared. At night, the corresponding bright White Sun should be the same. Only the left side and behind us still have the Black Sun. What surprised me was that the Curse Power concentration in front and to the right had dropped significantly, and the water level stayed a few meters above the city wall.

Some kind of change was happening inside Rachel Lan, and this world seemed to be changing as well.

Night came again. After confirming the number of suns, we returned to the house. Sure enough, another bright White Sun was missing.

"Are you ready, Roxie?"

Rachel Lan, lying on the bed, closed her eyes and soon fell asleep. I lay beside her, holding her hand, quietly shutting my own eyes.

Soon my consciousness entered my own dreamspace. I immediately headed toward the white wall, but with a buzz, I was bounced back just as I tried to enter.

A rumbling sound echoed—my dreamspace shook violently. I looked around and tried to enter again, but failed. It was the will of this world interfering.

"What exactly do you want to do?"

"Don't think you can change anything. Everything is set in stone. Get out of this world. You were never meant to exist here—just like the Saints."

That deep, gruff voice sounded angry. I felt my body being squeezed, unable to move.

"Leave? And what about Roxie? Are we supposed to be buried in this world together?"

I roared in anger. The intent of this world was obvious—it wanted to do something to Rachel Lan. For me and Earthly Soul, leaving wouldn't be difficult; releasing ghost power would naturally force us out. But Sylvia and Rachel Lan were different.

A faint fragrance drifted past my nose, accompanied by a flash of silvery light. Sylvia appeared instantly at my side, raising a hand. In that moment, the tremors in my dreamspace vanished. Sylvia stared off into the distance, then turned and softened, smiling.

"It's fine now. Hurry and go in."

I nodded, then glanced at Sylvia.

"Aren't you coming with me?"

Sylvia pursed her lips, shook her head helplessly, then giggled and said:

"If I go, who will watch over you all!"

I entered Rachel Lan's dreamspace again, and sure enough, everything had changed. The houses were there, the teal lake had grown larger, and to my surprise, gray-white clouds had appeared in the sky—just a few, but real clouds nonetheless.

Clusters of flames burned slowly on the ground—there were several spots now. The white patches on the ground had also changed; it was earth. I ran over in surprise, looked at a brownish-yellow patch, and touched it. Sure enough, it was soil.

The power radiating throughout the space grew increasingly dense. I took a deep breath, and instantly felt a rush of exhilaration. What had happened in my own dreamspace had left me uneasy, but now a wave of joy welled up from within.

But then I saw a patch of black in the distance. I rushed over—it was Curse Power. I recklessly ignited a purple flame, and under its influence, the Curse Power quickly evaporated. But tonight was not as smooth as last night.

My consciousness began to throb with pain. Clutching my chest, I lay on the ground—the pain nearly made me faint. But I couldn't lose consciousness now; I had to stay awake.

Still, my mind grew hazy. Struggling to get up, I brushed my hand against the ground. I vaguely sensed a gentle power drifting toward me, as if someone were there. Then a stream of teal water entered my mouth, and I blacked out.

"Don't come in again, or you'll bring those bad things with you."

In a daze, I woke up—a woman's voice echoed in my mind, gentle and somewhat ethereal.

"What's wrong, Qingyuan? Did you have a nightmare?"

It was already morning. Rachel Lan stood quietly beside me with a cup of water. I wiped the sweat from my forehead—my body felt fine; I must have slept for a long time.

But something felt off. There was no light coming from the window facing the sea of Curse Power. Instead, light was coming from behind me.

"Did something happen?"

Rachel Lan looked grim. I immediately got up and ran out of the house.

"It appeared this morning—the giant."

I stared wide-eyed into the distance—a black giant was walking, its features obscured, body pitch-black. Sylvia stood quietly atop the city wall as the giant slowly approached us.

"Looks like the will of this world finally intends to crush us."

Sylvia grinned mischievously. I swallowed nervously—the surface of the sea was still calm, not a ripple. The black giant strode across the water, step by step, toward us.

It drew closer, its massive form towering above the city wall. Now I could see its face—hair draped down, a furious expression, bulging muscles making it look powerfully built.

"It's coming."

Sylvia immediately looked at Rachel Lan, who nodded at once.

I floated upward. All the robots on the city wall began to flash, and even though 001 had left, the commands given to these robots remained. They would still attack any approaching Curse Power.

With a roar, the black giant raised its hands and bellowed at us. Instantly, a powerful gust surged toward us.

With a swish, Sylvia made a sword-drawing motion and slashed through the air—a flash of silvery light shot out. In her hand, she held that slender silver-blue sword, Wish.

With a boom, two powerful gusts swept past Rachel Lan and me. Two houses were instantly blown away, and the tall trees in the center of the forest rustled—leaves spun through the air.

Sylvia's face exuded absolute confidence. She turned back and smiled.

"I'll go take down that big guy first. You watch over Rachel Lan."

"Be careful."

Sylvia slowly raised her left hand, stretching it to the left. A silvery-blue light appeared in her hand, and that classical pistol called Xiyue spun around her fingers.
