Awesome Wish-Bound Telekinesis Art

Ryan Ling didn’t stick around the hospital for long. He made up an excuse to go to the bathroom and promptly slipped away—apart from some sore legs, he wasn’t actually hurt at all. Plus, with all those new Merit Points burning a hole in his pocket, Ryan couldn’t wait to cash in on the Wish‑Bound Telekinesis Art.

He opened up the Special Item Store, instantly punched in his Merit Points, and clicked ‘buy’ as fast as he could. A beam of golden light shot straight into his body.

Ryan shivered all over, and a line of System text immediately popped up in his mind: ‘Beginner unlocked—Wish‑Bound Telekinesis Art: Minor Initial Mastery. Note: This immortal spell must be fueled by your own immortal power. Those with high-level immortal power can move mountains and overturn seas.’

Ryan took a deep breath and noticed there was a test to gauge his actual control power. He immediately clicked on ‘Test’.

Another line of text flashed: ‘Tester’s power is weak—can control objects like pencils and erasers, max control time is two hours, tops.’

Ryan never had high expectations anyway—moving mountains and filling seas was never on his mind. Just being able to control a few things right off the bat was more than enough to make him happy.

He immediately focused his mind and tried controlling the Justice Pencil. Sure enough, the little pencil slowly floated into the air. It was a bit of a strain, but the fact that it worked left Ryan absolutely over the moon.

With his first successful telekinesis, Ryan’s personal status panel officially swapped out the old ‘third-class cripple’ label for ‘Wish‑Bound Telekinesis Art – Minor Initial Mastery.’ Thanks to all his recent effort, his stats for personal strength, Merit Points, hearse, and assets had all gotten upgrades.

The only things still blank were his slots for subordinates and his underworld office. The System reminded him to fill those positions ASAP—after all, as Lord Yama’s adopted son, his first major mission was to build a mini Yama Hall in the human world, complete with his own office, judges, ghost messengers, hearse, and all the rest. As the saying goes, ‘A sparrow may be small, but it has all its vital organs.’ Only then could he really help Lord Yama shoulder his burdens.

Thinking about his ‘bright future,’ Ryan was filled with anticipation.

The next day, Ryan came back to school in an absolutely killer mood. After a whole night of practice, his telekinesis technique was way sharper than before.

But as soon as Ryan set foot on campus, he could tell something was off—the whole vibe was tense, and tons of people were sprinting toward the sports field, yelling, “We’re totally doomed this time!”

Ryan scratched his head, a little confused, and followed the crowd. He only realized what was going on when he reached the field—Harbor City High School’s soccer team was up against Experimental High School.

These two schools have a long-standing soccer rivalry—one match a year, and it’s always super intense. Every year it turns into an all-out brawl, but almost every time Harbor City High School ends up losing.

After each match, Principal Tony Zhang is so furious he could cough up blood—not because he cares that much about soccer, but because he can’t stand Experimental High’s constant mocking.

Right now, the first half was almost over, and Harbor City High was already trailing by a whopping 0–3.

Every student looked totally crushed, and Principal Zhang’s face was beet red, his teeth grinding so hard you could hear it.

Meanwhile, Experimental High’s students lounged around with their legs up, looking totally bored and full of contempt. Most of them were making snide remarks, acting like coming to Harbor City High just meant an easy win every year. They’d even benched all their starters—everyone on the field was a sub.

That sense of smug, looking-down-on-you contempt made everyone at Harbor City High absolutely furious.

“We’re screwed. If the first half is this bad, I don’t even want to know what’s coming in the second half!”

“I heard our principal, Tony Zhang, made a bet with Experimental High’s principal—whoever loses this match has to kneel and kowtow three times to the winner, right in front of the whole school. Looks like we’re really about to lose face this time.”

“Yeah, and from now on, whenever we run into Experimental High’s crew, you know they’ll be throwing shade nonstop. Man, just thinking about it makes me mad!”

...

Back in his classroom, Kevin Lee and the others couldn’t stop muttering under their breath—everyone’s mood was basically rock bottom.

Just then, the System fired off a warning: ‘Attention, future King of Hell! Morale in your jurisdiction has hit rock bottom, and emotional stability is seriously compromised. As their ruler, you should do something about it!’

Seriously? This System is way too extra—now the King of Hell has to boost morale too? Give me a break.

Still, seeing Experimental High treat his school like dirt had Ryan boiling with anger.

Now that he’d mastered the Wish‑Bound Telekinesis Art—even if it was just the beginner version—controlling a soccer ball shouldn’t be a problem.

At that moment, the referee blew the halftime whistle.

Both teams headed back to their benches.

Experimental High was riding high, while Harbor City High’s players all hung their heads, totally dejected.

To make things worse, one of the players was injured, so the second half was shaping up to be even more of a disaster.

“Ha! These losers are such noobs. I bet they won’t even be able to field a team in the second half. Should we go wild and crush them 10–0?”

“Seriously, what’s the point? I don’t even want to play the second half. Let’s just send in our women’s team instead—I bet these guys can only beat girls!”

“Right? They’d probably get wrecked by our women’s team too!”

The Experimental High soccer team kept up their nonstop trash talk, not giving Harbor City High even a shred of respect.

Meanwhile, right in the middle of their rest area...

A bespectacled sycophant was fanning a rotund, middle-aged man and chirping, “Principal, where do you want Tony Zhang to kneel for you later so I can get a good shot for the album?”

“Under their school flagpole would be perfect,” the middle-aged man laughed, shooting a contemptuous glance at Tony Zhang across the field.

Right now, Principal Tony Zhang was so furious his face had turned green.

“Coach, I don’t think I can play the second half...” One Harbor City High player lay on a stretcher, fists clenched.

“It’s fine! If nobody else can, I’ll play myself!” the coach shouted, feeling more frustrated than anyone.

Honestly, Harbor City High was already way behind Experimental High, and this year they’d even hired a European coach—way better than anyone local. To make matters worse, right before the match, several of Harbor City’s main players couldn’t play for various reasons, which was why the game was turning into such a disaster.

“How about I give it a shot?” Ryan suddenly called out.

“You? Ryan Ling from Class 301? You know how to play soccer?” The team captain looked at him like this was a joke.

“I can kick a ball or two. Maybe I’ll even score if I get on the field!” Ryan said confidently.

“Kick a ball or two? Score a goal? Ryan, stop messing around. I know you’ve got connections with big shots lately and you’ve been riding high at school, but this match is about school honor—don’t treat it like a joke, okay?” The team captain’s tone got serious.

“I’m not the one treating it like a joke—you guys are. Look at how you’re playing and you still have the nerve to talk.” Ryan didn’t bother arguing, just marched onto the field without even changing into a uniform.

“You?” The captain’s face went pale with anger.

“Forget it, Shaokang. We’re going to lose anyway, so let him play. We really can’t afford to offend the Axe Gang!” The coach sighed—now that Ryan was on the field, he’d given up all hope for the match.

As soon as Ryan stepped onto the field, the Experimental High players started sneering.

“Harbor City High must be desperate—they’re putting in a total amateur. Someone check if our team doctor’s free; maybe he should get out there and kick a ball too!” The Experimental High team burst out laughing.

“Whoa, even Ryan’s out there now! Does he even know how to play?”

“I’ve sat next to him for three years, and I’ve never seen him touch a soccer ball. What’s going on?”

“That’s it, I can’t even watch!”

Hearing Kevin Lee and the others’ stunned comments, the Experimental High players were laughing so hard their faces were twisted.

“Principal, looks like we’re doomed. Maybe I should go talk to Experimental High’s Principal Wang and see if we can call off the bet?” Next to Tony Zhang, the class director wiped cold sweat from his face.

“Don’t you dare chicken out! Even if I actually have to kneel, I won’t back down!” Tony Zhang slapped his thigh and shouted, showing real backbone.

The whistle blew for the second half. Harbor City High’s team looked hopeless, while Experimental High was all smiles—their footwork was sharper than ever. They quickly took control of the ball, and after a few brilliant moves, it was swept into the penalty area.

Even the goalie was sprawled on the ground, and it looked like another goal was inevitable.

Suddenly, someone made a move—the ball was stolen in a flash, almost as if it was running with him. He sped past midfield, dribbling past three defenders all on his own. His footwork was absolutely stunning.

Suddenly, everyone from Harbor City High craned their necks to get a better look.

“Who—who is that?” Principal Tony Zhang shot to his feet.

“He—he’s the one who just subbed in, Ryan Ling!” The class director stammered, clearly unable to believe what he was seeing...
