You Didn’t Cheat On Me, Right
"When I was little, after my mother passed away, I was often beaten black and blue by Bianca Whiteshire." Bianca Whitefan's voice was full of restraint. "I still remember one time, she kicked me off the Cloud Platform, pinned me to the ground, stomped on my hand, yanked my hair, and slapped me over and over..."
"She actually did that to you!" Grace exclaimed angrily.
"Ha! Luckily, I later became a talisman master and earned my father's attention, so she pretended to be friendly with me. Otherwise, who knows, maybe she'd still be bullying me now..."
...
As the two were talking, a young worker from the Commonplace Tea House hurried over, giving Grace a meaningful look.
Grace walked over and followed him to a quiet spot by the tea house, asking curiously, "What's up?"
"Boss, I saw something, but I'm not sure if I should say it..."
"What is it?"
"Yesterday afternoon, a servant from the Imperial Advisor's Manor came to book a private room, and I saw that girl who just got slapped outside sneakily following him."
"Oh? What was she doing?"
I was curious, so I hid by a second-floor window and saw her enter the tea house next door—the same tea house General Evan Xiao and that pretty girl went into.
Grace suddenly felt a sense of foreboding and asked, "What are you trying to tell me?"
"Actually, my hometown buddy works as a waiter at that tea house, and we live together. When I got home last night, I asked him about it. He said that girl was super generous, booked a private room, and made a weird request."
"What request?"
"She gave him a stick of incense and said that when someone came to use the room today, he should light it."
After a pause, the worker said, "My buddy said the incense was white, and it didn't smell like anything when burned. He'd never seen it before. I was worried something might be wrong, so I came to let you know."
"White... incense?" Grace's face suddenly changed, and she rushed into the tea house.
But Amber blocked her at the foot of the stairs, refusing to let Grace go up. "Our lady is discussing something important with the General. No one is allowed to disturb them!"
Grace kicked her hard in the stomach.
Amber's cultivation was strong, but against Grace, it wasn't enough.
She was kicked so hard she flew off the ground, crashing into the counter.
The counter toppled over from the force, sending everything clattering to the floor.
Then Grace headed straight for the second floor.
But when she got upstairs, she realized the whole second floor was lined with private rooms—she had no idea which one Evan Xiao and Bianca Whiteshire were in!
"Waiter!" Grace leaned over the railing and called down.
But downstairs, only Amber was struggling to get up—there was no one else around.
Everyone else had run away in fear.
Frustrated, she stomped her foot and started searching each room, shouting as she went, "General! Evan Xiao! Where are you?"
She checked five or six rooms in a row before suddenly, the door at the very end burst open and a familiar figure stepped out.
"Evan Xiao!" Grace ran over. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
Evan Xiao's face was flushed and his breathing was rapid. He glanced at her, then abruptly pushed her away. "I've been drugged. Go get Leon Zane to detoxify me!"
"Where's Bianca Whiteshire?"
"I knocked her out."
Grace nodded and turned to go find Leon Zane.
But after a few steps, she stopped, looking him up and down. "You... didn't cheat on me, did you?"
Evan Xiao gritted his teeth. "Just go!"
Grace dashed downstairs and dragged Leon Zane inside.
