Demonic Energy Invades the Body

"Second Brother, what did you do?" Lucy Luan asked. "Sis actually told you to 'get lost'?"

"I just wanted some marigold eggs!" Ryan Lu protested, looking aggrieved. "I didn't say anything! It was all Yin Shu and the others!"

"So fierce... I got hit by a Demon Beast! Maybe I'm getting demonized! And you don't even care about me." Ryan refused to pull his hand back.

"Demon Beast?" Lucy Luan asked in surprise. "What happened?"

Ryan started to play up his misery, describing how he was sent flying by the Demon Beast's claw.

"Let me check you," Lucy Luan said, worried, and took his pulse.

But as soon as she did, her expression changed. She grabbed Lucy Luan: "Sis! Come take a look!"

"What's wrong?" Lucy Luan asked. "Is there really something wrong?"

Lucy Luan suspiciously put her finger on his pulse.

As soon as she did, her gaze sharpened, and she added two more fingers, giving him a thorough check.

Then, she suddenly stood up and said, "You really do have demonic energy invading your body!"

"Ah?" Ryan wailed. "I told you! Even if I went down there, I couldn't forget that fast!"

Everyone crowded around when they heard this.

Sean Shaw came over and stood beside Lucy Luan, gently asking, "What happened?"

Lucy Luan said, "I've seen people with demonic energy before. My brother has it in his body."

"What happens if I have demonic energy? Will I turn into a total idiot nobody even recognizes? Or... will I morph into a man-eating demonic qilin and start chomping on everyone?" Ryan shivered so hard he nearly rattled his teeth.

"Good thing we caught it early," Lucy Luan said. "I'll help you force the demonic energy out! Come on, let's go to your place."

As they walked, Ryan kept babbling, "I told you, I haven't dreamed at all these past few nights! Every time I wake up, it feels like I've crawled back from some dark world..." At Ryan's residence, Lucy Luan had him sit cross-legged and began channeling power from behind him, trying to force the demonic energy out.

It coiled inside his body, and even with all her strength, Lucy Luan could only extract a pathetic little bit—a drop in the ocean, really. Not even enough to brag about.

"Demonic energy will definitely mess with your brain, but not that fast, okay?" Lucy Luan flopped down, totally wiped out. "I need a break, or I'll be the one needing a healer!"
