Refining the Physical Body

12/19/2025

Thunderbolt arcs crashed down on Joe Di, shredding his clothes to tatters in an instant. Blood mist burst from his body with every strike of lightning.

Yet Joe Di was filled with delight. He realized that these thunderbolt arcs were not only refining his Nirvanic Body, but also providing him with thunder source energy to cultivate.

Joe Di had once refined his body to the point where even his flesh was torn to pieces by spatial blades, and his sea of consciousness had been ripped apart. Compared to those agonies, using thunderbolt arcs for body refinement brought him only minor pains he cared little about—and the benefits far outweighed the suffering.

At first, Joe Di paid close attention to his position within the flashing thunder. But once his Nirvanic Body reached its late stage, he completely forgot about his location.

Boom! A massive thunderbolt pillar, entwined with a web of lightning, crashed onto Joe Di’s head and sent him straight underground. Only then did Joe Di regain his senses.

He had reached the edge of Stormhaven Island, and his body refinement had attained the perfection of the Nirvanic Body.

Just three steps ahead of him floated a small island, suspended about ten feet above the ground. Thunderwebs and thunderbolt pillars, thicker than a man’s arm, bombarded the island relentlessly, growing even more intense toward its center. Despite the terrifying bombardment, the island remained as steady as a mountain.

Joe Di cast his spiritual sense upon the island, certain that its surface was not made of soil, but of some material he couldn’t identify at all.

No wonder Lucas Infinity was gravely injured. With thunderbolt pillars this fearsome, even a cultivator of his level could only stand where Joe Di was now. Lucas Infinity must have tried to withstand the thunderbolt pillars and enter the island’s heart, but clearly, he failed.

Lucas Infinity probably never ventured deep into the island. Under such terrifying thunderbolt pillars and dense thunderwebs, anyone who goes too far inside will never make it out alive.

Where Joe Di stood, thunderwebs and thunderbolt arcs continued to bombard him. But now that his Nirvanic Body had reached perfection, these thunderbolts could no longer harm him. At most, they left faint traces of blood—nothing that truly affected him.

After standing in place for a full incense stick’s time, Joe Di took a deep breath and stepped onto Stormhaven Island.

He guessed that the passage from the Immortal Realm to the void lay at the center of Stormhaven Island. Now, as a True Immortal at the ninth layer, it was impossible for him to reach the island’s core by sheer force. His only hope was to refine his body further, then rely on brute strength to break through to the center.

Bang, bang, bang! As soon as Joe Di stepped onto the island’s edge, three terrifying thunderbolt pillars crashed into him in succession. He spat out a mouthful of blood and staggered back in retreat.

Thud! When Joe Di landed beneath Stormhaven Island again, his shoulder was nearly split in two by the thunderbolt arcs. His chest had collapsed, leaving a charred crater.

The Titan Body Technique and Starstream Technique worked continuously to heal Joe Di’s wounds and strengthen his body.

This time, his injuries were so severe that Joe Di lay outside for ten whole days. During those ten days, he endured the slightly weaker thunderbolt arcs and thunderwebs.

It wasn’t the first time Joe Di had faced such a situation. After ten days, his body had only just recovered more than half, yet he charged onto Stormhaven Island again.

Boom, boom, boom! Once again, several thunderbolt pillars struck Joe Di, blasting him off Stormhaven Island.

The second time he was blasted off Stormhaven Island, it took Joe Di only nine days to recover before he charged up for a third attempt. Then came the fourth, the fifth...

On Stormhaven Island in the Newborn Immortal Domain, only Joe Di would dare such a thing. Even before the Immortal Realm fell into decline, body-refining cultivators were exceedingly rare. Joe Di could do this because he possessed the Nirvanic Body and the Titan Body Technique, which rapidly converted thunder source energy.

Boom! Crack! On his eleventh charge onto Stormhaven Island, Joe Di’s entire body erupted with cracks like a bursting riverbank. The Titan Body Technique stripped the thunder source directly from the thunderbolt arcs.

Joe Di was ecstatic—at that moment, his physical body broke through to the Celestial Physique realm. This time, he was not blasted off the island, but stood firmly at its edge.

Boom, boom! More massive thunderbolt pillars and thunderwebs swept down, but Joe Di unhesitatingly threw down a broken low-grade Prime Immortal Ley Line. Endless thunder source and immortal energy fused together, and under the impact of the Starstream Technique, Joe Di shattered his cultivation shackles and officially stepped into the ranks of Golden Immortal.

Several thunderbolt arcs, mixed with the island’s thick thunderbolt pillars, swept down. Joe Di remained unmoved. He looked up at the thunder-filled sky, his heart surging with excitement.

Until now, he had never advanced to the next realm before facing the tribulation.

Clearly, this was the work of Stormhaven Island.

Stormhaven Island had battered him again and again, leaving him covered in wounds, but it also continually refined his body and cultivation.

Just as Joe Di expected, as the thunder tribulation descended, the rules of space around him instantly grew clearer.

Joe Di was overjoyed. For the first time, he only needed to use these clear rules to advance his realm, without having to break through the Golden Immortal bottleneck.

The thunder tribulation arcs and the dense thunderbolt arcs of Stormhaven Island completely engulfed Joe Di, yet he felt nothing at all.

At that moment, both his cultivation and physical body surged upward together...

Early Celestial Physique, mid Celestial Physique...

Golden Immortal first layer, Golden Immortal second layer...

Joe Di planned to ride this momentum all the way to Golden Immortal fourth layer, but the clear cultivation rules faded, leaving only the dense thunderbolt pillars and thunderwebs of Stormhaven Island.

Joe Di knew his thunder tribulation had passed; he had only reached Golden Immortal second layer.

Such fortune is rare and unpredictable. All he could do now was cultivate diligently and wait for the next thunder tribulation.

Joe Di was optimistic—he was now at Golden Immortal second layer, mid Celestial Physique. As long as he kept working, one day he would reach the center of Stormhaven Island.

Time passed slowly. The Newborn Immortal Domain, which was already nearly deserted, now had even fewer people in sight.

As for Joe Di, refining his body at the center of Stormhaven Island, no one knew about him—nor did anyone care.

...

In the blink of an eye, another year passed. Joe Di gazed in despair at the island’s heart, still hundreds of feet away. He knew that unless he reached the realm of Grand Ether Immortal, he would never make it to the center of Stormhaven Island.

His body refinement had stalled half a year ago. Back then, he had just reached late-stage Celestial Physique, and even after all this time, he had made almost no progress.

If his cultivation was stronger, he could move forward, then push for perfection in Celestial Physique—or even strive for Divine Physique.

But with his current cultivation, if he truly dared to go further, his body might collapse.

If he stayed put and relied on his current pace, it could take decades to reach full Celestial Physique. He could afford to wait, but Moria Lane could not.

Did he really have to return to Starhaven City, cultivate like mad until reaching Grand Ether Immortal, and then come back here?

Even if he spent decades in Starhaven City, there was no guarantee he’d reach Grand Ether Immortal. And even if he did, decades later, Moria Lane still couldn’t wait. He might reach the island’s center someday, but that day was far too distant.

Joe Di let the thick thunderbolt pillars and thunderwebs bombard him, blood mist swirling away. He frowned, deep in thought about how to enter the void from here.
