Molly Yun immediately replied, "Yes, I'll move every flower you like!"
Cecilia Gu burst out laughing, "Do you have to be so honest!"
Molly Yun smiled gently. "As your family, of course I have to do my best to protect what you love most."
Cecilia Gu couldn't help but laugh again. "I'm just curious, why do I like you so much!"
After saying that, Cecilia Gu turned to Wendy and said, "Don't get jealous!"
Wendy, standing nearby, pursed her lips and replied, "Madam, honestly! You play favorites and then tell me not to be jealous! But since Miss Yun genuinely looks out for you, I guess I won't be jealous this time!"
Molly Yun joked, "Luckily I'm not a legendary beauty, or all the women in the world would be jealous!"
Cecilia Gu was stunned. "What do you mean?"
Molly Yun sighed, "I could charm both men and women!"
Cecilia Gu, Wendy, and Yvonne Ye all burst out laughing at the same time.
Yvonne Ye had originally been wary of Molly Yun, but after this exchange, her impression of Molly changed instantly.
She never looked down on anyone, nor did she ever get into conflicts.
She was always so poised and polite.
Clearly gifted, she kept such a low profile that people barely noticed her presence.
How does someone like that even come to be?
Yvonne Ye started to get curious about Molly Yun.
Cecilia Gu finished laughing, clutching her stomach, and said, "Come on, let's go! While the men are still busy, let's hurry and raid the place."
After saying that, Wendy quickly came over to support Cecilia Gu, helping her walk toward the flower conservatory.
Cecilia Gu had already visited this flower conservatory many times.
Everything inside belonged to Eric Jiang.
Cecilia Gu, whether intentionally or not, explained to Molly Yun, "This flower conservatory actually has a special meaning. My sister Nora Yun loved flowers, but because of her health, she couldn't be around pollen. So my cousin built this place. Even though my sister never set foot here, it carries all his longing for her."
A flicker passed quickly through Molly Yun's eyes, then her expression grew somber.
Even if it was built for her, what difference did it make?
She was no longer Nora Yun, but Molly Yun!
Yvonne Ye instinctively glanced at Molly Yun.
She didn't know why, but she couldn't help looking at Molly Yun.
She just inexplicably wanted to see Molly Yun's reaction.
But Molly Yun's face remained calm and composed as always.
Yvonne Ye wondered to herself, what kind of thing would make this serene and elegant woman lose control?
The four of them soon arrived at the flower conservatory.
The servant guarding the flower conservatory recognized Cecilia Gu and quickly opened the door to let them in.
It was Yvonne Ye's first time seeing such a beautiful conservatory. She couldn't help but exclaim softly, "Wow, this is incredible! How much effort did this take?"
Cecilia Gu nodded, "Yeah, a lot of work went into this place. Actually, it's not even the most impressive one—our family has an even bigger base elsewhere. Anyway, let's go on a raid!"
After saying that, Cecilia Gu added enthusiastically, "Molly, you're the expert. If you spot something good, just take it!"
Molly Yun smiled and lifted her gaze. "Alright, I won't leave a single pot behind!"
Right after Molly Yun said that, she turned and saw Yvonne Ye, curious, reaching out to touch a pot with serrated leaves. Molly immediately called out, "Don't touch that..."
But her warning came too late.
Before she finished speaking, Yvonne Ye's finger was already cut by the sharp leaf.
Cecilia Gu immediately said to Wendy, "Go get the first aid kit!"
Molly Yun quickly added, "Wait, make sure to bring iodine and gauze, skip the band-aids, and bring some needle and thread."
Wendy answered and hurried off to get everything ready.
Molly Yun explained to Cecilia Gu and Yvonne Ye, "The leaves of this plant secrete an allergen-like substance, which can easily trigger allergic reactions in people. That's why it's best kept in a conservatory and not in a closed space like a bedroom."
Yvonne Ye couldn't help saying, "You know so much."
Molly Yun just smiled at her.
Wendy soon returned with a bottle of purified water and the first aid kit.
Molly Yun gently took Yvonne Ye's finger, cleaned the wound, disinfected it with iodine, dried it, wrapped it with gauze, and stitched it up carefully.
"All done. You should heal by tomorrow. These leaves may look thin, but they cut deep, so I wrapped it to prevent infection," Molly Yun explained. "Don't get it wet today, and only remove the gauze once it's healed. Band-aids are convenient, but they don't breathe well and can slow healing."
Yvonne Ye stared at Molly Yun and blurted out, "Why are you so nice to me? We're supposed to be rivals!"
Molly Yun smiled confidently. "I just believe in kindness and letting things happen as they will. Besides, I never planned to compete with you."
Cecilia Gu couldn't help but nod in admiration.
That's the kind of confidence people should have.
Yvonne Ye looked at Molly Yun with complicated emotions and couldn't help but ask, "Are you this nice to everyone?"
Molly Yun was surprised. "Why would you ask that? Of course not! There are so many people in the world, how could I be nice to all of them? I just do my best, and help when I can. Honestly, if you and Cici were both hurt, I'd treat Cici first, then help you after. That's just human nature. No reason, no right or wrong."
Molly Yun's honesty didn't put Yvonne Ye off—in fact, there was a hint of respect in her eyes.
She lived very authentically.
And she lived with such ease.
She wasn't a deity, nor did she shine with some supernatural light.
But she was always the calmest, always knew exactly what to do.
And she never saw that as a weakness.
Cecilia Gu said calmly, "I don't know why, but I always get the feeling you're like my sister. Even though I know that's impossible—my sister is gone."
For the first time, Molly Yun's calm expression wavered.
"She and I had no fate, born worlds apart. By the time I returned home, she was already gone," Cecilia sighed softly. "I've seen her in my dreams a few times—her earnest advice, her loving care, it's all still so vivid."
Molly Yun quickly looked away, half-serious and half-joking, "Well, let me borrow a popular line: An angel will come to love you in her place! Maybe I'm the one she sent to watch over you."
Cecilia Gu couldn't help but laugh, "Alright, I'll just pretend you're sent by my sister!"
Wendy glanced at Molly Yun a few more times.
She was an outsider, but she saw things the clearest.
She also felt that Molly Yun's care for Madam was beyond everything else.
If she hadn't already tested Molly Yun's orientation, Wendy would have thought Molly was in love with Madam!
It wasn't like she hadn't tried to test Molly Yun before.
But Molly Yun always faced others' probing with complete composure.
Such a mysterious person—she really leaves people at a loss!
Yvonne Ye saw the gentle look in Molly Yun's eyes as she gazed at Cecilia Gu, and couldn't help saying, "I'm actually a little jealous. No one's ever treated me like this."
Cecilia Gu and Molly Yun both looked at Yvonne Ye.
Yvonne Ye looked lonely. "Girls in my family only know competition. If you lose, you're abandoned and married off to some powerful but awful man for a political alliance. If you win, you just get a slightly better man. No one's ever truly cared about me..."
Molly Yun smiled gently. "Have you ever fought back? Have you ever asked yourself, if you left your family, could you survive and be happy? If you could, why not leave? Why not fight for it? If you don't like your life, why not try to change it?"
"I..." Yvonne Ye hesitated, unsure how to answer.
"Is it just because you can't give up a life of luxury?" Molly Yun continued. "You're afraid that if you go against your family, you'll lose all your privileges, have nothing, no more status, no more servants, no more luxury. That's fair. You sacrifice freedom and self for a lavish life. The family enjoys your sacrifice and rewards you with material things. It's a transaction. As one side of the deal, you have the right to accept or reject it."
Molly Yun was just that calm, and that bluntly honest.
She didn't spare anyone's feelings—she tore down Yvonne Ye's facade in an instant.
"Molly..." Cecilia Gu couldn't help interrupting, even if Molly was right, maybe it was too much for Yvonne Ye to take.
Molly Yun looked at Yvonne Ye with clear eyes. "I'm just stating a fact. If I've hurt you, then I'm sorry."
Yvonne Ye's eyes dimmed. "No, you didn't say anything wrong. It's just... no one's ever said that to me before. Thank you for waking me up."
Molly Yun's voice softened. "Actually, you're not wrong either. Your family raised you with a certain worldview. No one ever told you that freedom and life require painful struggle to be reborn. When people come into this world, the first thing they do is struggle for life. Only through that fight can you breathe the air of this world. That means life is a journey full of struggle. If you lose that fight and pursuit, then what's the point of living?"
"I'm not saying that kind of life is bad. It depends on how you see it. If you think your family's arrangement is right, then it's the best for you," Molly Yun said. "If not, then figure out what you really want!"
