Chapter 1065: Burning

Krav burst out from the ground, instantly unleashing his magic. Black clouds gathered overhead, and a torrential meteor shower rained down toward Leon.

Leon shifted into his Wind-Fire Elemental Avatar, watching Krav with a faint, amused smile.

“Krav, use your head for once. Try not to be so hopelessly stupid...”

With that, Leon launched another Four-Element Bomb.

Facing the Four-Element Bomb again, Krav's expression shifted dramatically. He cursed under his breath but still hurriedly dodged to the side.

Damn bastard. That spell packs a punch and moves frighteningly fast, but it’s got one flaw: as long as you spot the direction, dodging the Four-Element Bomb is actually pretty easy.

Just a slight sidestep—hell, even if it just grazes you—will keep you safe from the spell. If it doesn’t hit the target dead-on, it won’t detonate.

Stupid idiot. As long as you’re on guard for a sneak attack, there’s really nothing to worry about...

Krav sneered, dodging two or three meters to the side. Sure enough, the Four-Element Bomb kept speeding off into the distance without slowing down.

"Idiot. You really think the same sneak attack will work twice?"

Krav sneered, his laughter dripping with scorn...

But before he could finish, the Four-Element Bomb he’d dodged suddenly exploded behind him...

The terrifying blast slammed into Krav like a giant’s hand, smashing him hard into the ground.

Whoosh...

A sharp whistling filled the air as Krav crashed to the ground like a meteor. The earth erupted for dozens of meters, leaving a massive crater at the center. Krav spat blood, dazed and battered, flying out of the pit, utterly bewildered—he’d dodged the spell, hadn’t been hit, so why did it still explode...?

A dozen meters further, the force of the blast sent Krav flying again—he was starting to lose it...

Leon kept pressing Krav, relentless but never going for the kill. Watching Krav roar, even Leon was left speechless.

This fool—by merging with the Goldentop Tribe’s Ancestral Warden, he temporarily gained Sky Rank power. He might not have true transcendence, but his combat strength should be close to Sky Rank.

But he has no clue how to use that overwhelming power. All he’s managed is to turn himself into an old turtle with a thick shell—he’s got the strength, but can’t unleash a real Sky Rank’s fighting potential.

If Leon didn’t need him alive to learn his secrets, Krav would’ve been sent straight back into the earth within a minute...

Leon kept Krav suppressed, never using his full strength—just hurting him enough to keep him from escaping or dying.

Elsewhere, Krom and the Sky Rank warlock had shifted their battlefield several kilometers away. Meteors, flames, and battle aura clashed violently—the fight was fierce.

Not far from the Goldentop Tribe, the battlefield between Dida La and the Grand Chieftain had become a sea of orange fire. From a distance, it looked like an orange cloud floating in midair, stretching for a thousand meters—the flames made the whole space seem almost unreal.

Dida La’s face was cold as he unleashed fire spells in the blazing sea, while the Grand Chieftain of the Goldentop Tribe roared wildly. His armor was battered, but he’d suffered no serious wounds—the Goldentop Spellmark gave him overwhelming defense, making his body as unbreakable as the hardest ore.

"Bastard! Come out here—I'll tear you apart!"

As the fight dragged on, Dida La’s body had merged with the fire sea itself. With every spell, more orange elemental flames surged forth, and the power of the fire quietly kept rising.

But the Grand Chieftain didn’t notice any of it—the elemental flames around him couldn’t burn him at all. The extreme heat didn’t harm him, but the closer he got to the depths of the fire sea, the higher the temperature climbed. Space itself was warped, the air sucked away, and vision twisted.

All he could see were mages attacking from every direction, but Dida La himself was nowhere in sight. The Grand Chieftain howled, golden battle aura surging, churning the sea of fire as he tried to break free—but no matter how he charged, he couldn’t escape.

It was as if the fire sea moved with him—no matter how he fought, the environment never changed.

From outside the fire sea, it seemed to hover in place, never moving. The summoned elemental flames were so numerous, even Dida La couldn’t fully control them.

Within the orange fire sea, faint golden flames hid like commanders among the elemental fire—leading, gathering, and moving the orange flames.

This orange fire sea was like an onion—layer upon layer. Each layer was built from fire runes and patterns, twisted by the extreme heat into a massive Fire Maze.

Dida La stood within the fire sea, floating above the Grand Chieftain’s head, watching the raging chieftain below with cold eyes.

If the Grand Chieftain hadn’t been so arrogant about his defense, he wouldn’t be in this mess—he wouldn’t have let Dida La build this layered Fire Maze around him.

Every blast of battle aura shattered three or four layers, but the maze’s warped space just scattered the force, sending it looping through the layers and outwards.

Now the Fire Maze had grown to seventeen layers—even transcendent power couldn’t break through that many.

All the distance traveled through each layer added up to at least ten kilometers. Even where the battle aura forced a breach, the Grand Chieftain’s strength could only break through three or four layers—beyond that, the power faded fast.

Unless he could discover and unravel the Fire Maze, then force his way out with overwhelming strength—escape was impossible.

Or you could be vastly stronger than Dida La and carve a bloody path out—but that would take at least a Tier Two Sky Rank.

A Tier One Sky Rank caught in this layered trap, painstakingly built over time, has only one fate—being trapped until death.

Slowly, the Grand Chieftain realized something was wrong. No matter how much battle aura he unleashed, he couldn’t escape the fire sea. Faint golden flames began to appear around him.

Those golden flames carried a hint of dragon’s aura—Fire Dragon Breath, one of the hottest flames, brewed by an inferno dragon. It’s the extreme opposite of the frost dragon’s Zero-Degree Dragon Breath.

The main trait of Fire Dragon Breath is its burning—it takes the essence of flame and pushes it to the limit. Even other flames become fuel for its fire.

"Cowardly bastard! If you’ve got guts, fight me head-on! Hiding like a spineless wimp—come out! Show yourself!"

Dida La just sneered, ignoring the Grand Chieftain’s furious shouts.

"Idiot. Do you really think mages are like you, all muscle and no brains—always slugging it out up close, letting brute force decide everything?
