Round three: number three versus number six, number four versus number seven, number five versus number eight, number nine versus number one, number ten versus number two.
Number eight is the Yellowstone Sect.
As for Yellowstone, the Blue Robe Sect's main concern is Eric “Jade Moon” Jing. Her cultivation method is unusual and produces many illusions, which is why Elder Simon Spring reminded Evan Yang to prepare.
Elsewhere, Sect Master Leon Xiang asked the short subordinate beside him, "Any news yet?"
"We've checked everywhere, but no one knows if anyone has been there," the short subordinate replied.
"It's really a headache," Sect Master Leon Xiang sighed.
"Sect Master, what now?" the short subordinate asked.
"Leave it for now. The next round is likely to see people suddenly weakened, and then chaos will break out. We need to seize the opportunity to take them down," Sect Master Leon Xiang said.
"Everything's set. When they start fighting among themselves, we'll take advantage and capture them—should be easy enough," the short subordinate replied.
"Let's hope so," Sect Master Leon Xiang said, growing more anxious as the moment approached.
None of the ten sects realized they were already in danger. As for Evan Yang, ever since he expelled the poison from his body, he had been extra wary of the Northspirit Sect.
"What exactly did the Northspirit Sect put in the wine? Am I really the only one affected?" Evan Yang muttered, seeing that no one else reacted.
Evan Yang even began to wonder if he was the only one with this problem.
It wasn't until the day after next—the start of the third round—that Yellowstone Sect faced the Blue Robe Sect.
Eric “Jade Moon” Jing glared at Evan Yang. She'd lost him during the chase last time, but since then, she'd gone back and prepared carefully for this rematch.
So today, no matter what, she was determined to defeat Evan Yang.
"Same as always—you two go first, he goes last," Elder Simon Spring told the three.
Evan Yang was already used to it. Master Owen Qian of Yellowstone saw Elder Simon Spring put Evan last and laughed, "Elder Simon, why didn't you let him fight last time? Then you wouldn't have lost so badly."
"That's none of your business. Just worry about today," Elder Simon Spring replied.
"Today? I'm sure we'll win," Master Owen Qian said.
“You think you’ll win? The match hasn’t even started yet, don’t get ahead of yourselves,” said Elder Simon Spring.
Master Owen Qian smiled, "Let’s get started, then."
With that, Bald Lee stepped into the arena first. Yellowstone sent out another male disciple. At first, Bald Lee and his opponent were evenly matched, but suddenly the Yellowstone disciple seemed to be struck by some unseen force—his whole body went limp, leaving him completely vulnerable. Bald Lee easily defeated him, but Master Owen Qian didn’t lose confidence. Instead, Elder Simon Spring and the others were baffled by Bald Lee’s sudden surge in strength.
Evan Yang watched curiously. The two had clearly been equal in strength, but the Yellowstone disciple suddenly seemed to suffer some kind of attack, his whole body going soft and letting Bald Lee attack at will. The opponent soon passed out and was carried off the stage.
In the second round, Eric “Jade Moon” Jing stepped up. She snorted coldly, “Blue Robe Sect, you really play dirty. Just knocking people out like that.”
Elder Simon Spring glanced at Bald Lee, who shrugged, genuinely confused.
“Does anyone know what happened to that guy just now?” Elder Simon Spring asked.
Master Owen Qian snorted, “He won’t die, but he’s unconscious. Didn’t expect Blue Robe Sect to be so petty.”
“What’s going on?” Elder Simon Spring asked Bald Lee.
Bald Lee shook his head. “I honestly have no idea.”
“No idea? You think ignorance covers your crime? Fine, I’ll return the favor in a moment,” Eric “Jade Moon” Jing snorted.
With that, the second round began. Bald Lee was no match for Eric “Jade Moon” Jing; in less than a second, he was sent flying out of the ring. Not only that, Bald Lee was badly injured, feeling deeply frustrated—what had he done wrong today? One opponent was defeated without suspense, while another left him seriously hurt without even much of a fight.
“Not killing you is already merciful,” Eric “Jade Moon” Jing glared at Bald Lee.
Bald Lee wanted to curse, but Elder Simon Spring stopped him and told him to step back.
Next up was Sean Shen. Eric “Jade Moon” Jing used the same illusion technique, and Sean couldn’t break through her mirages—he lost as well.
Soon it was Evan Yang’s turn to enter the arena.
Eric “Jade Moon” Jing fixed her gaze on Evan. “The arena’s not that big. I don’t believe you can just dodge forever.”
“Go ahead. I know you’ve been waiting a long time for this match,” Evan replied.
Eric “Jade Moon” Jing took out a mirror. Elder Simon Spring was shocked when he saw it. “Buffering Mirror!”
“That’s right,” Master Owen Qian said with a proud smile.
