"Harold Liu, you really can't hold back any longer, huh? Since you want to die today, I'll give you this chance—I'll do my best to fulfill your wish, otherwise I'd look rude!"
Dominic Chu then turned to Harold Liu and spoke, his tone full of confidence, completely ignoring Rowan Chu.
Harold Liu wanted to say something, but when he saw the two white-haired elders behind Dominic Chu and Victor Lin, he quickly changed his mind.
Those two are hardly easy to deal with. In terms of strength, even the Wang Clan Three Fiends aren’t their match.
The two of them have been famous for years—long ago, they were already at the ninth level of the Mystic Warrior Realm. After so many years, they might have already broken through to the Earth Martial Realm.
If it really comes down to a hard fight, who lives or dies is anyone’s guess. What’s more, I didn’t expect Victor Lin to show up here too. With those two old monsters, things are getting tricky.
"Harold Liu greets the Lu Clan Twin Heroes. Today is the day my Liu Family settles accounts with the Chu Family, so I hope you two seniors won’t interfere."
His son killed my son, and I must have my revenge. I hope you seniors will allow it."
Harold Liu started with courtesy before force. If the Lu Clan Twin Heroes would stay out of it, things would be much easier. Even if they did intervene, he had his own backup and wasn’t too worried—only Victor Lin made things complicated.
"Liu brat, we don’t care about your grudge with the Chu Family. But if you attack them, we won’t just stand by and watch. That’s all we’ll say—do what you want!" one of the elders said.
From their tone, it was clear they were determined to interfere. If you want to stick your neck out, then none of you will leave here. Lu Clan Twin Heroes? Today I’ll make you Lu Clan Clown Bears.
A flash of anger flickered in Harold Liu’s eyes, and suddenly a red jade token appeared in his hand.
Everyone knew what that jade token was—a communication tool. All you had to do was channel your spiritual power into it, and the token would shoot a beam of light into the sky. Anyone watching for it would rush over immediately.
Although the jade token was pretty ordinary, its price was sky-high. Most people had only ever seen the rich and powerful use it to send messages—never tried it themselves.
When Evan Chu saw the jade token in Harold Liu’s hand, he felt a wave of unease. He hadn’t expected his father to bring in people like the Lu Clan Twin Heroes, but Harold Liu could just as easily summon experts just as strong.
Flowing Cloud City might not be big, but it was full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers—many people just didn’t care for fame or attention.
That’s why most people thought Flowing Cloud City belonged to the City Lord’s Mansion and the Five Great Families. But if those hidden experts ever showed themselves, the Five Great Families might not even exist anymore.
"Heh, I didn’t expect to see a Red Spirit Jade here. Rare, very rare!" Sword Spirit Luna’s voice suddenly appeared, ghostly as ever.
"Sister Luna, who exactly is Harold Liu summoning? I’m sure it’s someone incredibly strong." Evan Chu trusted Sword Spirit Luna completely.
"Two people. Both are even stronger than those two old men. You’d better be careful today; these are the kind of people you absolutely can’t provoke right now. Unless you have no choice, don’t reveal yourself lightly!"
There was a hint of worry in Sword Spirit Luna’s voice. After all, she and Evan Chu were tied together—if he died, she’d be wiped out too.
Now Evan Chu truly felt how serious things were. The people Harold Liu had called for were likely hidden experts.
He didn’t know if they were first- or second-level Earth Martial Realm, but if they were third-level, even the City Lord’s Mansion might not be able to handle it.
Now the Chu, Lin, and Gongsun Families, along with the Liu Family, were all caught up in this struggle. The power of the four great families was nothing to scoff at.
Even if the City Lord’s Mansion wanted to help, they might not be able to do much. This could be the fiercest conflict Flowing Cloud City had ever seen.
Evan Chu snapped out of his thoughts and continued to stay hidden. He hadn’t expected his impulsiveness to bring such a disaster on his clan. Although his second uncle was bound to fight his father for the patriarch’s seat someday, he never thought it would happen this soon.
Just then, two figures flashed past Evan Chu and stopped in front of the Liu Family crowd.
"You two seniors are fast! I’ll be counting on you for today’s matter. There’ll be a hefty reward afterward!" Harold Liu stepped forward immediately.
"No need for formalities, Harold. If you pay us, we’ll solve your problems. In Flowing Cloud City, there’s nothing my brother and I can’t handle!" one of the elders boomed, his voice so loud it made the nearby disciples’ ears ache.
He was making it clear to the Chu Family that they meant business. Dominic Chu’s face darkened—he hadn’t expected the Liu Family to bring in these two old monsters.
The two men were Ma Yuanshan and Niu An—better known by their infamous nickname, Ox-Head and Horse-Face. Years ago, they committed every crime imaginable: rape, kidnapping, murder, arson—you name it.
Later, experts from the Imperial City came to deal with them, and they vanished from sight. No one expected that, after all these years, they’d still be alive and thriving.
With Ox-Head and Horse-Face on his side, Harold Liu was even more confident. "Dominic Chu, today is the day your Chu Family is wiped out. And Victor Lin, I suggest you stay out of this mess—otherwise, Flowing Cloud City will have only three great families from now on!"
Victor Lin didn’t get angry at all. He just smiled and said, "You think I’m scared? Bring it on if you’ve got the guts!"
A murderous glint flashed in Harold Liu’s eyes. He waved his hand at his men. "Kill them all—leave no one alive!"
Soon, the disciples of the Chu and Lin Families clashed with those of the Liu and Gongsun Families. This was the biggest battle Flowing Cloud City had seen in decades—howls and screams filled the air.
Dominic Chu faced off against Harold Liu, Merrick Chu took on Rowan Chu, the Wang Clan Three Fiends fought the Chu elders and offerings, and the Lu Clan Twin Heroes battled Ox-Head and Horse-Face. The matchups were pretty even.
In both numbers and strength, the Chu Family was clearly at a disadvantage. The Liu Family’s elders and offerings had no real opponents, so they all targeted the Zhao Family’s disciples.
Soon, more than half the Chu and Lin disciples were dead or wounded. Hiding in the shadows, Evan Chu couldn’t take it anymore—he drew the Frostbane Sword from his storage belt and dashed into the fray, leaving only a blur behind him.
When Dominic Chu saw Evan Chu appear, his heart ached. "Feng’er, why did you come back? You’re just throwing your life away…"
Dominic Chu’s momentary distraction exposed a tiny opening—he and Harold Liu were evenly matched to begin with.
In a duel between experts, losing focus is fatal. Harold Liu seized the chance and struck Dominic Chu’s chest with a palm, sending him flying five meters back.
"Pathetic!" Harold Liu sneered. Evan Chu rushed to Dominic Chu’s side right away. "Dad, are you alright?"
After Evan Chu helped Dominic Chu up, Dominic forced a bitter smile. "Why did you come back? Now you can’t leave even if you want to. Today, the two of us may not escape this disaster."
Seeing Dominic Chu wasn’t seriously hurt, Evan Chu snapped, "Dad, nothing is set in stone. Just protect yourself—leave that old Liu dog to me! I’ll make him pay dearly for what he’s done today!"
"Feng’er, don’t!" Dominic Chu tried to stop him, but it was too late—Evan Chu was already charging forward, unleashing his fiercest martial skill, Gale Sweeps the Clouds, at Harold Liu…
