Family Slaughter

1/19/2026

Evan Chu raced ahead at incredible speed, the wind howling past his ears—his only hope was to reach the Chu Family as fast as possible.

Roxanne Lin was fast too, but compared to Evan Chu, she lagged far behind—after all, movement martial arts were extremely rare in this region.

When they were less than two li from the Chu estate, Evan caught up with Roxanne.

Seeing Evan unharmed, Roxanne finally let out a sigh of relief.

"Evan, are you alright? What happened to the black-clad man? How did you escape from him?"

Evan was moved by the concern written all over Roxanne's face.

"I killed him. By now, he and the others should be on their way to the underworld!" Evan answered crisply—he didn't want to hide anything from Roxanne.

"You killed him? How is that possible? He had at least Earth Martial strength—even though I don't know why he suddenly got so powerful, I'm sure of his level.

You actually managed to slay an Earth Martial expert—Evan, you’re full of surprises!" Roxanne felt like she’d been struck by lightning; it was just too damn shocking.

"Maybe I just got lucky! But you did well today too—this was your first time killing someone, right?" Evan slowed his pace to match Roxanne’s as he spoke.

At that moment, a flash of fear crossed Roxanne’s face. "I... It really was my first time killing someone. It felt so terrifying!"

For someone as beautiful as Roxanne, killing was a bloody business and not easy to do—but today, she hadn’t let Evan down.

"What’s so scary about killing? For villains, it’s no different than killing a dog—simple as that.

That’s just how this world works—if you don’t kill them, they’ll kill you!

The strong rule here—everything depends on power. Let’s hurry home; I’ve got a bad feeling something’s happened!" Evan finished and sped up again.

"Evan, wait for me!" Roxanne called, quickly chasing after him.

When Evan and Roxanne were about two hundred meters from the Chu Family gate, they stopped. Evan’s eyesight was now so sharp that he could see everything clearly from that distance.

He saw nearly a hundred people gathered at the gate, with Harold Liu and his trusted men standing at the very front.

Nearby stood three men in white robes whom Evan didn’t recognize, so he couldn’t help but look them over twice.

These three gave Evan a strange feeling—an oppressive aura. "Ninth-level Xuanwu Realm? Or Earth Martial strength? When did the Liu Family get experts like this?" Evan muttered.

"Good eye, Evan. Those three are way out of your league—they’re probably first-level Earth Martial Realm. You’d better not go head-to-head!"

Luna’s voice suddenly echoed in Evan’s mind. With her sharp eyes, she could tell at a glance.

"Got it. I’ll be careful!" Evan replied, grateful.

He then turned to Roxanne behind him: "Roxanne, it’s too dangerous here. Go to the City Lord’s Mansion and find Jenny Sima—leave now, before anyone sees you."

Even though Lily Lin was strong now, facing at least three Earth Martial experts was just too risky.

Rather than letting her take such a risk, it was better to find a powerful ally. Right now, Jenny Sima was the only one who could help.

Relying on a woman for help might feel awkward, but this wasn’t the time for pride—those three in white were beyond what his family could handle. For the sake of the clan, Evan would swallow his pride; now he owed Jenny Sima another favor.

"Evan, I want to stay with you—even if it means dying, I’m willing!"

Roxanne refused Evan’s arrangement—she knew he was trying to protect her, but being able to fight alongside the one she loved was worth it, even if it meant death.

"Listen to me—this isn’t the time to be stubborn. If you find Jenny Sima, she might be able to help me at a crucial moment. If the City Lord’s Mansion steps in, everything will be easier."

Reluctantly, Roxanne left. Her eyes shimmered with tears as she looked back at Evan. "Don’t worry, Evan—I’ll do my best!"

"As long as you’re safe, that’s all that matters. Nothing else is as important." Evan thought to himself as he watched Roxanne go.

"Dominic Chu, get out here!" Harold Liu roared furiously at the Chu Family’s gate.

"Old Liu, what’s all the yelling for? Your grandpa Merrick Chu is here—if you’ve got something to say, say it to me." Merrick Chu strode out from the gate to face Harold Liu.

Merrick Chu was Evan’s fourth uncle, rarely at the estate since he usually managed the family’s business affairs outside.

After sizing up the crowd outside the gate, Merrick Chu smiled:

"Harold Liu, you must think highly of our Chu Family—bringing so many people, and even hiring the Wang Clan Three Fiends. Must’ve cost you a fortune!"

Despite his words, Merrick Chu was deeply shocked—the Wang Clan Three Fiends had a savage reputation.

Rumor had it that five years ago, all three reached ninth-level Xuanwu Realm. They were ruthless, never leaving survivors—a nightmare to deal with.

Especially since the three brothers’ martial arts complemented each other—their coordinated attacks and retreats made them almost impossible to handle.
