Thrown Into the Water Vat
Two young servants shouted and pressed May Parker down onto the rim of the water vat. The vat had just been moved in from the open courtyard, filled halfway with ice and water. Just touching the freezing cold surface, May Parker felt as if her bones were about to freeze through. Terrified, she sobbed uncontrollably and pleaded, "I was wrong! I won't try to harm anyone again, Sister Lily, Ancestor Lily, please let me go this time!"
Lily Evans strolled leisurely around May Parker, "Who was it that threatened me just now? Said she would expose my farming secrets and ruin me?"
May Parker wailed, "Sister Lily, I was overestimating myself, I was stupid! I won't threaten you again! I don't want to die, please don't throw me into the water vat!"
"Tsk, you don't want to die?" Lily Evans grabbed May Parker by the hair and slapped her hard twice. "When you pushed me into the river, did you ever think that maybe I didn't want to die either!?"
Helen Parker, tied up like a dumpling, rolled on the ground and wailed, "Lily, please forgive May! You're fine now, and she knows she was wrong. She won't dare do it again! If you let us go this time, we'll never bother you again. Whenever we see you in the village, we'll bow and greet you!"
"Oh, Second Aunt, your bowing and greetings are too much for me," Lily Evans sneered. "I'm someone who repays grievances and revenge. Who told you to mess with me?"
As Lily spoke, she kicked May Parker on the backside. May Parker yelped and toppled headfirst into the water vat.
May Parker instantly plunged into the bone-chilling icy water. In her panic, she tried to cry for help, but instead gulped down a mouthful of ice water.
The water vat wasn’t deep enough to drown anyone, so after flailing around a bit, May Parker managed to stand up, shivering and coughing hard, her nose red from the cold. Instinctively, she tried to climb out, but as soon as her hand touched the rim, one of the servants struck her hand with a stick, making her yelp and withdraw in pain.
"How do you like the taste of ice water?" Lily Evans squinted at May Parker.
By now, May Parker was thoroughly frozen, lips purple and body trembling. She sobbed, teeth chattering, "Sister Lily, I really don't dare anymore. Whatever you ask me to do, I'll do it. I'll never offend you again. Please have someone pull me out, I'm going to freeze to death—wuwuwu."
"Listen up, May Parker. I'm not someone with a good temper. However you harm me, I'll pay you back tenfold, a hundredfold. Got it?" Lily Evans looked down at May Parker from above.
Soaked in the water vat, May Parker had lost all her arrogance. She nodded quickly through tears, "I got it, I won't dare harm you again."
"And you?" Lily Evans kicked Helen Parker, who was lying on the ground.
Helen Parker hurriedly swore, "I won't dare harm you either. If I ever do, may the heavens strike me down with thunder!"
May Parker also rushed to swear, "I swear I won't harm you again. Otherwise, let me be cursed with no descendants and die a miserable death!"
"Swearing oaths now, tsk. Do you even believe yourselves? Men, let the mother and daughter reunite and really savor the taste of ice water! No getting out before an hour is up!" Lily Evans said coldly.
The servants immediately grabbed Helen Parker and forced her into the water vat. Whenever either of them tried to climb out, they were beaten back with sticks.
May Parker and Helen Parker were truly terrified now, hugging each other and crying loudly in the freezing water vat.
At this moment, May Parker regretted everything a thousand times over. How could she have been so foolish to provoke someone as fierce as Lily Evans? She was dying of regret!
After an agonizing hour, the mother and daughter finally crawled out of the water vat, half-dead from the cold.
May Parker and Helen Parker were completely broken, kneeling and banging their heads on the ground, begging Lily Evans to let them go home.
"Let you off?" Lily Evans's voice rang out coldly. "Second Aunt, May Parker, do you think that just because you nearly killed me and my husband, and I tossed you into a water vat for a bit, we can call it even? Let me tell you, this is only the beginning."
