The Daoist Alchemy sects have a concept called 'forming the Pill,' divided into External and Internal Pills. Those who cultivate spiritual energy call this the Golden Pill Path. Monsters who train for ages form Monster Pills, which, when consumed, boost one's cultivation. In fantasy, magical beasts have Mana Cores—excellent for leveling up, spellcasting, and restoring mana. For creatures with powerful bodies, there's a similar phenomenon: a condensed life-energy core called the Meat Pill.
For body cultivators, the Meat Pill is as valuable as the Monster Pill is to spiritual cultivators—a heavenly treasure for replenishing life energy and enhancing physical strength!
Very few creatures can form a Meat Pill, because being strong enough in the flesh to stand alone is extremely rare—most need some special energy to do it. Even the Plesiosaur we ran into underground probably couldn't manage it. But today, Jill Young made a huge discovery: Kaiju monsters can actually refine Meat Pills!
The monsters in this world are ridiculously strong—way beyond common sense. According to biology, land animals can't get too big. Forget energy consumption and heat dissipation; just look at bones and organs: if a creature has a heart that weighs a ton, it needs ligaments that can handle that weight. If it weighs a hundred tons, its leg bones must support a hundred tons, or else it'll just self-destruct.
But Kaiju hearts are way more than a ton, and their total weight is off the charts—two or three thousand tons, easy. Machine guns and missiles barely scratch them. They say the very first Kaiju took a full three days of nonstop bombardment before it finally died.
Even so, Kaiju here still aren't quite at the Meat Pill stage. Any creature that forms a Meat Pill, even without special defenses, is basically indestructible. Even after death, with its corpse lying in the wild, no animal would dare come near. "The tiger's might lingers after death"—the bones of a Meat Pill powerhouse are enough to make regular folks feel weak in the knees. Depending on the strength, quality, and size of the Meat Pill, the body can stay uncorrupted for years, even centuries.
The closest thing I've seen to a Meat Pill so far is the Auric Relic. Grandmaster Gold condensed all his life's essence and willpower into a bead the size of a fingertip, and that alone shot Jill Young straight to the second level of the Titan Spirit Method. But even that doesn't really count as a true Meat Pill—there's still a big gap.
Jill Young never imagined that Kaiju could actually produce Meat Pills.
So that day, when Jill and a certain wooden block crawled out of the mecha and stood on the Komodo Kaiju's chest, she was stumped—this monster was just too massive.
Its chest was big enough to play soccer on. Stomping down, the hide was tough and dry. Eating this guy? Not happening. Of course, nowadays Jill can use the Titan Spirit Extraction Technique to absorb it directly. But there's a limit to how much you can take at once—can't go overboard, especially after realizing the issue with over-concentrated blood energy.
With a monster this size, there's no way you can absorb it all in one go. The corpse is definitely going to be used for experiments and research—so what, just leave all this prime meat behind because your stomach's too small?
"No choice—just grab as much as I can!" Jill dropped to one knee, pressing her right hand against the Kaiju's chest. The Titan Spirit Extraction Technique kicked in, and her female side-profile avatar appeared, drawing out the monster's life energy with all her might. Soon, Jill's cheeks flushed—she knew she was reaching her limit. It's like eating too much ginseng: even if it's a tonic, overdoing it is actually bad for you.
"Ugh—it's like breaking into a vault but not having a bag to take all the cash! So annoying!" Jill suddenly looked at the wooden block next to her: "Why are you just standing there? Come help me absorb some!" Hey, even a mosquito is still meat. Jack Young might not be a pro at the Titan Spirit Method, but every little bit helps.
So the wooden block walked over and kneeled across from Jill. He reached out his left hand—placing it right on top of hers.
"Huh?" Jill felt a strange sensation bubbling up inside. At that moment, a golden male side-profile avatar appeared. The two avatars—a man and a woman—moved back to back, almost merging into a single image. Jill's eyes went wide, as if something mysterious was about to burst forth.
But in the end, the avatars didn't fully merge—there was still a gap, and they stopped getting closer.
Jill suddenly felt a weird pang of disappointment, like something she'd been hoping for just didn't happen. But then, both golden avatars got brighter—like hundred-watt bulbs blazing! A ripple of golden light spread out from their joined hands, sweeping over the entire Kaiju corpse.
No one else could see this golden ripple—it looked like waves on water, spreading out and then circling back. Each time it returned, a huge amount of life energy got scooped up. If before, it was like wandering through a cornfield and eating whatever you could grab, now it was like having the best harvester, peeler, and chef working together—precision work.
The golden ripple tunneled deep, pulling back sheets of life energy—even the stuff they'd already absorbed but hadn't refined yet. Only the very best was kept; all the junk got tossed. Jill stared in disbelief as, right where her hand was, the tough Kaiju hide cracked open. Like new sprouts breaking through soil, marble-sized balls squeezed out of the fissures, appearing before the two of them.
Five minutes later, the last ripple faded. The golden avatars returned to their places, and all the strange phenomena disappeared. What Jill found next to her hand were six fragrant Meat Pills. Well, 'fragrant' isn't quite right—her nose didn't pick up any smell, but her instincts screamed: This stuff is super tasty! Eat it now! Downing one of these would be a massive win—major benefits, guaranteed!!
