The ghost aura within the Ghost Soul began to slowly replenish. Although the Ghost Soul was severely damaged, it was starting to recover. I kept trying to reestablish my connection with the Ghost Souls inside me.
Meanwhile, in the distance, my corpse had fallen into a disadvantage. Its speed and strength were no longer as formidable as before. All it could do was keep pounding Mr. Oblivion with its fists.
“Hahaha, it's been a long time since I've felt so exhilarated. This thing can't be broken. Interesting, very interesting.”
Madness flickered in Mr. Oblivion's eyes. Each punch he threw whipped up a violent wind, tearing the sky and rending the earth. My corpse could only crash to the ground again and again.
I calmed myself, focusing on the existence of the Ghost Souls within me. Because my Ghost Gates had been sealed, I’d temporarily lost contact with them. As soon as I could reconnect, my ghost aura would quickly be replenished.
Inside the Yin Ghost, there was still a large amount of Yin energy stored. This had both advantages and disadvantages for me. Right now, I couldn’t fully withstand her power, but at this moment, I couldn’t afford to worry about that.
Gradually, wisps of Yin energy began to appear around me. It was the Yin Ghost—she sensed my intent and started to continuously release Yin energy. The other four also began to help.
Ghost aura began to flow smoothly through my body. The desire to break through everything surged within me, making me throw my head back and roar wildly.
Gradually, I realized that my Ghost Gates weren’t just sealed—they had been completely destroyed. The pathways were gone.
I stared in shock. Just then, with a thunderous crash, my corpse flew toward me and landed heavily by my side.
With a creaking sound, my corpse struggled to its feet.
“Only one percent of fuel remaining.”
From my pocket, my phone emitted a mechanical alert. My corpse roared angrily as it staggered toward Mr. Oblivion, blocking his advance.
“It’s over, Ethan Zhang. Take this toy back with you. Brother Owen, it looks like you’re almost done too. The ritual is nearly complete.”
I looked over and suddenly noticed that Ghostworm’s form was becoming translucent and blurry, drawing closer to my cousin. My cousin had lost consciousness and was in a deep sleep.
With a whoosh, my shadow appeared behind me.
“Since he destroyed the Ghost Gates, construct a new set of Thirteen Ghost Gates.”
My shadow offered a reminder, and suddenly, I understood something. Multiple Ghost Souls—Mr. Oblivion was getting closer.
I began channeling ghost aura, weaving seven Specter Webs within the Ghost Soul, intertwining them. I’d learned this construction method in the Forest of Desire—it allows for multiple Ghost Souls, but splits my power in two. All six Ghost Souls opposed my decision.
But now, things were different. I quietly sensed something new slowly being born within the damaged Ghost Soul.
"Instinct. Coexistence... Synchronization beginning..."
I stood up, half crouched on the ground. My corpse roared and charged at Mr. Oblivion. The Specter Webs kept channeling ghost aura, constructing a new Ghost Soul named Ethan Zhang. Within the Ghost Soul, I began to connect everything together.
Gradually, new Ghost Souls began to appear within the Ghost Soul, while the old, damaged ones started to peel away, slowly being absorbed by the older souls.
With a thunderous crash, my corpse flew toward me, unable to move any further, its hands raised. Mr. Oblivion walked over step by step.
"It's over, Ethan Zhang."
As Mr. Oblivion spoke, my corpse suddenly wrapped its arms tightly around his legs, refusing to let go. The sound of pounding echoed as Mr. Oblivion’s fists struck my corpse again and again, but it clung to his legs, growling.
"Just a mindless corpse, huh? Looks like you're about to lose control."
Mr. Oblivion stopped his assault, his gaze icy as he stared at me.
"That guy, Sheng, is really slow."
Gradually, I sensed the newly born Ghost Soul taking shape within me. I had practiced this method of creating multiple Ghost Souls hundreds, even thousands of times, just to prepare for situations like this. It was the Spirit Snake who reminded me of this technique.
Gradually, I stood up. Black Deathbane Aura kept spilling from the broken stumps of my hands, and slowly, my arms began to regrow.
The Specter Webs pierced into the ground again and again. Mr. Oblivion stared at me in astonishment.
“Oh? How did you manage that, Ethan Zhang? Constructing a Ghost Soul of the ghost kind isn’t so simple.”
“Heh, I’ve practiced thousands of times already.”
Roaring, I linked the Specter Webs to the back of my corpse, into rows of orderly small holes. I felt something hard inside, and my Deathbane Aura kept getting absorbed by these things.
"Instinct. Coexistence..."
I roared. In an instant, the Deathbane Aura that had pierced the ground began to absorb power madly, surging along the Specter Webs and flooding into my corpse.
Suddenly, Mr. Oblivion sensed something was wrong. He tried to escape, but it was too late. My corpse moved, and the weapons on its hands, along with the small holes on its back, spewed black Deathbane Aura.
With a cracking sound, Mr. Oblivion’s legs were instantly crushed by the overwhelming force, and he collapsed to the ground.
"Finish him."
I roared, furiously channeling Deathbane Aura into my corpse. Instantly, my corpse rose, its fists swelling and turning black. It leapt high, raised its fists, and brought them down on Mr. Oblivion with a thunderous crash.
With a whoosh, I grabbed Sophie Sun. The Desire Ghost returned to my body, and I began to float.
With a thunderous roar, a blinding black light erupted. Deathbane Aura surged out in all directions like a flood, instantly engulfing most of Jialan City.
A cracking sound echoed as Brother Owen’s ghost domain began to split apart, battered by the surge of Deathbane Aura. The real Jialan City below was swept by the raging aura—houses collapsed, mountains crumbled, and in an instant, everything was destroyed. Only the stone tablet inscribed with the Saint of the Underworld’s Vow did not crack, but toppled over.
"Take Sophie Sun and leave."
I shouted, then looked at Desire Ghost, who immediately appeared and pulled Sophie Sun away. I moved toward Brother Owen, glancing over at Mr. Oblivion—his chest bore two massive fist marks, completely caved in. He lay quietly atop a soaring slab of stone.
My corpse chased after him. Without hesitation, I went to Brother Owen’s side. By now, Brother Owen was nearly invisible. I roared, and with a sweep, my cloak billowed. I spread my arms, my legs half-crouched.
"Ghostworm..."
I roared, but Brother Owen ignored me, looking as though he was only a step away from turning around.
"Cousin, I’ll save you. Spirit Snake, I’m counting on you. Wait for me, cousin."
