Preparing to Go Separate Ways

1/19/2026

Soul Rend deals devastating damage to the soul. For this woman to speak so coherently in such agony shows incredible mental strength—Evan truly admires her for that.

But he had no intention of letting her go. If this woman returned to Beast King City, the Netherbeasts would immediately launch a crazed retaliation against them. Even with their luck, they’d never escape a world-wide manhunt by both humans and Netherbeasts.

What made Evan speechless was that, despite her pained expression, the woman did something he never expected—she actually began stripping off her restraints right in front of him.

Suddenly, two enormous things bounced free—possibly the largest pair Evan had ever seen, even bigger than Dream Princess’s. If it were anyone else, they’d probably lose control at such a sight; after all, the woman’s looks were incredibly seductive.

But she picked the wrong target. Just as she was about to remove the rest of her clothes, Evan sneered, "You think you can flaunt such a disgusting body in front of me? You really underestimate me. You think I’d be interested in you? That’s a huge mistake. Just looking at you makes me sick."

The woman’s hand was undoing the last restraint when Evan spoke. She froze, stunned. Though her soul was wounded, it hadn’t killed her. One hand still hovered over her most private area, and Evan could vaguely see something black there—it was obvious she was extremely debauched.

"I just want you to spare me. You can do whatever you want with my body—aren’t you interested in women at all?" she said to Evan, completely unconcerned about her near-nakedness.

Evan’s brows furrowed. "A woman this low has no right to flaunt herself in front of me. If you’d truly begged for mercy, maybe I’d have let you go. But pulling this kind of stunt is just asking for death. Go die!"

He spun the Frostbane Sword in his hand, sending a sword-flower slashing out. Evan was utterly disgusted by women like her—thinking a bit of beauty could seduce any man. But she’d met Evan, and that meant only death.

The Frostbane Sword’s sword-qi struck the woman, slicing a long gash through her pale skin, exposing her organs. Evan didn’t hesitate—he unleashed another sword strike. The woman’s soul was already badly damaged, and she was only holding on by sheer willpower.

But after that blow, she was completely powerless to fight back—her body split in two, falling from the air, and Evan instantly incinerated the remains with a fireball, leaving nothing behind.

After finishing everything, Evan quickly flew back. Seeing the worried looks on Roxy and the others, he smiled, "Let’s go. I’ve killed all three. I’m afraid the real powerhouses of Beast King City will show up soon."

The fact that Evan could kill three people fleeing in different directions shocked Ethan, Ryan, and Roxy. But thinking of Evan’s terrifying speed, it made sense. They all learned a valuable lesson: you can offend anyone—just don’t offend Evan Chu.

The four of them immediately flew off in another direction, still confused about why they’d ended up in Netherbeast territory. Could Shadowlin City really be the human city closest to Beast King City?

After flying for nearly half a day, they stopped in front of a huge lake. On one side of the lake was a mountain, and from afar Evan spotted a cave—perfect for resting.

They went straight into the cave and found some dry grass and debris scattered about. The place was a mess—clearly, no one had been here for ages.

"Let’s rest here," Evan said. "Once everyone’s recovered, we’ll discuss what to do next."

The four immediately took out Starstones and began absorbing energy. Worried that strong enemies might come, Evan used one of his precious Star Crystals to recover his Chaos Dragon Force as quickly as possible.

Roxy, Ethan, and Ryan recovered quickly and quietly waited in the cave for Evan. The cave wasn’t big, but it was more than enough for four people. Ethan went to the entrance to keep watch—if enemies came, they’d be trapped like fish in a barrel.

After Evan finished absorbing the Star Crystal, his Chaos Dragon Force was fully restored. He took out a storage ring he’d looted from a Red Lotus elder and said, "You’ve all seen how strong the Netherworld experts are—there are too many Saint Martial Realm powerhouses. We haven’t even met the really scary ones yet. If we do, you all know what’ll happen."

The four of us together are way too conspicuous, but if we split up, I’ll worry about you all. Do you have any good ideas?"

"I want to travel alone in the Netherworld, preferably within human territory. That way I won’t attract enemy attention—and it’ll be good training." Ethan said.

"I agree with Ethan. Instead of running everywhere together, it’s better to split up. Our main goal here is the Netherviolet Orchid—just keep that in mind. The only problem is, we don’t have any Netherstones, so moving around in human territory will be tricky," Ryan said.

Evan glanced at the two and said, "That’s way too dangerous. Isn’t there another way? Like, you guys could stay in this cave or some other place in seclusion, while I go out and find what you need. Wouldn’t that be safer?"

Ethan chuckled, "Come on, Evan, we’re grown men. If we can’t handle a little danger, how can we survive in this world? I’ve already decided—once we leave here, it’s up to fate whether I live or die."

Roxy said, "Evan, I think they’re right. Honestly, I want to go off on my own too—I don’t want to be a burden to you. Don’t worry, I’ll disguise myself. If I go out looking like this, I’ll definitely draw attention. Just relax!"

Evan could accept Ethan and Ryan leaving, but Roxy leaving was unbearable. If something happened to her, he’d feel guilty for life.

"Roxy, I think you should stay with me. That way I’ll be at ease. You’re a woman—it’s different from Ethan and Ryan. I hope you understand," Evan said.

"Evan, what we need most right now is to figure out the layout of the Netherworld’s factions. We heard the shopkeeper talk about it, but we still don’t know the exact locations. We need your help. We can wait here for a while—once you’ve figured it out, then we’ll split up," Ethan said.

"Exactly. You’re way stronger and faster than us, so we trust you to gather intel. Take three days—no matter what, come back here," Ryan said.

"I’ve got this Red Lotus Guard’s storage ring. Let me check what’s inside—maybe it already has what we need," Evan said, sending his spiritual sense into the ring to investigate...
