"The final round—this has to be something seriously twisted!" Shawn Young instantly grew alert, then with two swift kicks, sent the two headless corpses of the "Iga Rakshasa Ninjas" flying off the ring. "Clang!" Suddenly, the massive iron cage above came crashing down, enveloping the arena. In a flash, the iron door swung open, and several dark figures leapt inside. The arena lights dimmed, and the whole place was shrouded in gloom, with only a few red lights glowing around the spacious stadium.
Seeing this, Shawn barked suspiciously at Damian Shen below the ring, "What's going on? Why did the lights suddenly go out? What kind of trick are you pulling?"
Damian Shen snorted coldly, "No tricks here. This is the final round of the Triple Kill Arena! Your skills really surprised me. Do you realize how much money I lost because of those last two fights? We're talking tens of millions of Hong Kong dollars! So tonight, no matter what, you have to survive this third battle! Life and death are up to fate!"
Shawn asked coldly, "Who am I fighting in this third round? And what's with the lights going out?"
Damian Shen grinned wickedly, "Heh! Your opponent in the third round isn't a person—it's a beast. One of the fiercest on Earth—the Mongolian steppe wolf! These three wolves haven't eaten for a week! Meat makes them twice as ferocious, and they’re masters at ambushing prey in the dark. Plus, my men just injected them with a special stimulant. Even if their claws get chopped off, they'll keep fighting unless you take off their heads—which, by the way, are pretty hard. Now, we don’t need to see everything clearly; just wait in the dark! When there’s no more noise in the ring, the fight’s over. Then everyone will know the result! Pretty exciting, right, little Shawn? Haha!"
"What! You—you want me to fight wild animals!!" Shawn frowned. He didn’t know exactly how terrifying these wolves were, but he was sure they were bad news. With Yara Zen and May Gu both here, and May’s brother Bullhead still in Damian Shen’s hands, he had no choice. Now was not the time to flip out. Shawn forced himself to stay calm, thinking hard in the darkness about how to survive this final challenge.
Down below, Yara Zen nervously clenched her fists and whispered to May Gu, "Elder Gu, I’m really worried about him! Do you think he can handle it? What if he’s in danger—what should we do?"
May Gu patted her shoulder, leaned in, and whispered reassuringly, "Don’t worry. If things get out of hand, I’ll think of something!"
Back in the ring, Shawn took a deep breath, suppressing his surging energy. He’d just used his Shadow Split Technique to take out the two "Iga Rakshasa Ninjas," burning up a lot of his qi. Now, with the arena suddenly plunged from bright light to darkness, his eyes hadn’t adjusted yet, but he could sense a dangerous presence lurking nearby. Focusing his mind, he cautiously sharpened his senses, listening for any movement in the dark. After all, for Shawn, darkness wasn’t much of a problem!
A few low, menacing growls echoed all around. In the darkness, Shawn Young spotted six eerie green eyes circling him—those were definitely not human! "Wolves! Those things are prairie wolves!?" Shawn's heart skipped a beat as he realized he was up against these savage carnivores.
These three prairie wolves had been specially bred and trained. Damian Shen had hired Russian experts to feed them a unique diet, regularly laced with certain potent drugs. Over time, these wolves grew stronger, more bloodthirsty, and almost immune to pain—their nerves dulled to agony, but their sense of smell and vision became razor-sharp. Their fighting power doubled, and compared to ordinary prairie wolves, they were basically mutant beasts.
Shawn felt a wave of anxiety—he’d never fought such ferocious beasts before, and he wasn’t sure he’d survive. Worse, he worried Damian Shen might harm Yara Zen and May Gu offstage. Just then, Damian’s voice rang out next to his ear: "Little Shawn, don’t worry, just focus on the fight! I, Damian Shen, would never take advantage of you! Heh, heh, in my underground arena, no one has ever escaped the jaws of these three prairie wolves. I’m genuinely curious to see how you’ll handle them—"
"Hmph—Boss Shen, relax. I promise I’ll make it out alive!" Shawn replied, suddenly feeling much steadier. Though his qi was nearly depleted after fighting those two Iga Shinobi, his main concern was getting distracted. Now, with Damian’s guarantee, Shawn was filled with fierce determination. He silently vowed to break this 'Eaststar Triple Kill Arena'!
The three prairie wolves prowled and growled in the darkness, their senses sharpened by Shawn’s human scent. But they could also sense that the man on the stage wasn’t easy prey—Shawn’s aura of killing intent made even these bloodthirsty beasts wary. They circled in the shadows, waiting for a chance. If Shawn so much as slipped, the wolves would swarm him, fighting to the death. That was their signature attack style.
But Shawn was already moving in the darkness. He focused his mind and gathered his qi, forming seals with both hands—ready to defend and strike. All the while, he kept a close eye on the shifting forms of the three cunning mutant wolves.
Quickly, Shawn shaped the Demonbreaker Seal with both hands, sinking his consciousness into his Second Sight and channeling Celestial Essence. In moments, his Second Sight split off two invisible decoy auras, drifting across the stage. He planned to lure the wolves to attack by baiting them with these fake scents!
At the same time, Shawn shifted his body lightly, deliberately exposing a gap on one side. Instantly, the wolf on his left spotted the 'opening,' growled, and lunged—but then pulled back, feinting. Suddenly, the wolf on the right leapt viciously at Shawn’s right wrist, aiming for the deadly weapon he held! Even these beasts could pull off a classic feint-and-strike—truly cunning creatures!
Shawn sprang upward, dodging the wolf’s attack—it missed completely. Just then, the middle wolf launched its assault, seizing the perfect moment while Shawn was mid-air and unable to counter. The wolf on the right also struck fiercely! But all of them missed—Shawn’s decoy aura had fooled them!
Before the mutant wolves could recover, three bolts of lightning slashed through the darkness! The flashes were so blinding that everyone present instinctively shut their eyes—then came three thunderous booms!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Three agonized wolf howls echoed from the stage, quickly fading to low whimpers—and then, silence. In the darkness, Damian Shen’s face was hidden, but his emotions surged. Hearing the sounds from the ring, he sensed the fight had ended badly for his wolves. Then Shawn’s cold voice rang out from the stage: "Boss Shen! The fight’s over. Turn on the lights already! We’ve got other things to do!"
Damian was stunned. Hearing Shawn’s voice, he knew something was wrong, but curiosity won out—how had Shawn ended this 'nightmare' battle so quickly? He ordered his men, "Turn on the lights!"
